The West Wing: Season 3 [DVD] [2004]

Having already seen all the episodes on E4 what seems like an eternity ago, I can not wait for the release of Season three.For those who are already fans of The West Wing... wait a minute - what am I talking about? Anyone who has ever seen the west wing will not be reading this review - they don't need me to tell them how great it is, and they will have just clicked on the "order now" button.For those who have not seen it, I will quote a great line that Sam used regarding CJ's request for help understanding the Census in the excellent "Mr Willis of Ohio" episode from season 1 -"let's forget the fact that you are late joining the party, and embrace the fact that you showed up at all."The West Wing really is once in a generation television. The casting is superb, the story lines are solid, and the acting is little short of mesmerising. I honestly do not know anyone who, having seen one episode, has not become hooked. Season three continues the high standards set in seasons 1 and 2, wth a lot more political depth (don't let this put you off - I hate politics with a passion, but this is entertaining stuff), and even greater development of the personalities of the characters and their relationships.I would recommend that you watch seasons 1 and 2 first if you have not already seen them, then buy this. It is an expensive business, being a West Wing fan, but believe me when I tell you that there are very few episodes that you will not watch again and again, so in terms of value for money, it is top notch.Enjoy!

If you're a person who hates politics and turns the channel off when the news comes on I guarantee you will still love "The West Wing". Set in a fictional White House the show revolves around the President and his senior staff. There is excellent acting and storylines, not based on just politics but plenty of human drana, and those of you who have enjoyed series 1 and 2 you're going to love 3. In this series the story continues to unravel Bartlett's admission at the end of series 2, we see more of the excellent First Lady, a new love interest for Josh, a return of Admiral Fitz-Wallace and learn just that little bit more about President Bartlett's complex and difficult relationship with Vice President Hoynes. A series jammed packed with excellence and well worth having on DVD to watch over, and over, and over again!

Season 3 of the West Wing is again fantastic, the events leading up to the finale were really funny, intense and dramatic. It really is brilliant writing from Aaron Sorkin and the rest to be able to create truly enjoyable episodes such as "Dead Irish Writers" which has to be one of my all time faves. Towards the end, the climatic finale has you wondering what the hell just happened in a good way that the emotions the show draws out of you.The only slight problem I had and this wasn't with the actual programme content was that I was given two Disc 3's and had to return the boxset for a like for like return but it was dealt with quickly and properly by Amazon so no real complaint.

Solid entertainment packed with solid story lines and likeable characters. For anyone who's watched series 1 and 2 I can assure you the quality remains just as high as with both series: for any new comer I could still recommend it but would suggest you play catch up with the first 2 series before this one. They've been around for quite awhile so you should be able to pick them up cheap and if the rest of the 7 series are up to this quality you can avoid crap tv for quite awhile.

if some one was to ask me, "How good is the West Wing?" i wouldnt know where to begin. i would probably begin telling them what is poor about it, which would take no time at all since it is such an amazing program.the writes/producers of the program have sparked up my thursday evenings for nearly 2 years now, they have done an amazing job, the cast of characters is brilliant. you get the serious side of the white house, then you the funny side of it all.this is like no other series ever made, at the end of ther first series, they made you wanna see the next series, the same with the second, it made you want to wait till the 29th march to get it and watch, or if you were lucky enough to have E4, when ever it came out on that.

In actual fact, there's not much simple about the West Wing. I don't pretend to understand half of what's said, but neither does Allison Janney (C.J. Cregg) so I'm in good company!However, The West Wing is undeniably superb. The writing and acting on the show is second to none, but perhaps more important is the topics that the show addresses, and the way they are addressed. Not many shows could put together a response to the Terror attacks on the World Trade Centre in such short time - most didn't bother in any time - and I'd rather have the 'preachy' element of the show than the marked silence of others.In The West Wing, we see many difficult issues facing America and the world discussed, and it is reassuring that they are discussed, we hear the other side of the story; we see people change their minds, and it gives me hope that although fictitious, people like Toby, Josh and even POTUS himself might be in the White House in some way, shape or form.Not many shows are thought-provoking, dramatic and funny as The West Wing.Bartlet for America!

I’ve been using this sound bar for a couple of months now and I’m impressed by the sound quality. The Sound on modern TVs is pretty poor - lacking bass and clarity. This sound bar solves that. It equalizes the sound difference between speech and action scenes and adds depth. I’m not a fan of big booming bass so I keep this at a lower setting but there is plenty there if you do need it. The presets are good and these can be individually adjusted as well. It keeps your last settings in place when you turn the TV off so once set, I have just left it. Also, I no longer have to keep turning the sound up and down when a show or film switches between action and dialogue. A bonus is that the Bluetooth option is great for my phone.

I absolutely love West Wing. However, the DVD set had several episodes where the film got hung up and refused to continue. The DVD isn't damaged in any visible way. I have not touched the film side. I don't know why these episodes just stopped. It's very frustrating.

Described by the seller as 'Used-Very Good' and it certainly is; there is no damage to the case or DVDs, and the information booklet looks like it has never been touched.As for the series itself, what can I say? I am a big fan of The West Wing, having already purchased all seven seasons previously, but they had to get left behind during one of my 'downsizings'.If you have never seen it, I highly recommend trying it.

Une série classique, mais toujours d'actualité. Des acteurs incarnant de façon crédible et attachante les personnages qu'on aime suivre dans le temps dans un ballet de type film choral.C'est vraiment appréciable d'avoir la possibilité d'écouter la V.O. avec les sous-titres en anglais.

Actually, I don't know yet if I like it. Not understanding what the REGIONS means, I evidently chose the wrong Region. I re-ordered it, and am saving Season 4 til after I can watch Season 3. :-(

Undoubtedly a winner. This series has all the ingredients to continue with all the seasons. The casting is excellent and the acting the best I have seen for a long time.
