I’ve had this for 2 weeks and it truly has been a game changer. Me/my condition - I’m 6’2 250lbs and have had thoracic and lower back issues along with mild scoliosis. I’ve been managing this through a chiropractor and just living with the pain for years. At some point I figured I would have to deal with a doctor or surgeon, but I’ve been managing for now. The chiro adjustments help but over the years I have had constant stiffness in my middle back that just always felt like it needed to pop, but it never would. I tried an inversion table and foam rollers and they never did much. I saw this and figured I would give it a try. Setup - It arrived promptly and is very will made with clear instructions. I put it together in about 10 minutes. Day 1 - I used it probably 5 times that day, just trying to get a feel for it. I got a good stretch, like you get with a child’s pose yoga stretch, but I was not overly impressed. I did feel the muscles in my lower back felt warmer and maybe a bit more lose after using. Days 2&3- I started getting better stretches, and a few minor pops. I still had my doubts in spending $250+ on this. Day 4 - This day was awesome. I used it and got a bit more of a stretch and a bit more more popping. That night I used it before bed and got a good pop in the mid back area. It still needed to pop but that was the most movement I have had in that area for years. It also felt warm, similar to day 1. I went to bed and about an hour later I was on my side asleep and was awoken by a crackling sound. I thought I rolled over on something, but then realized it was my back releasing for lack of better terms. It felt great, a top 10 feeling moment in my life (if that’s a thing). I went back to sleep and was awoken again by the cracklings a few hours later and a little higher up in my spine. When I woke up, no pain, no I slept on it weird, etc. it just felt like I was 20 years old again. Day 5 started off okay, but I was using the crap out of the machine trying to get a repeat of that wonderful pop, crack from the night before. That night I got in the hot tub to really loosen thing up before my pre-bedtime use of the Nubax. I really forced the stretch and overdid it. My lower back tightened up and the pain radiated through my lower back/hip area and around to my ribs. I hobbled to bed and tried to sleep the best I could. Day 6 - I rested and did not use it. My back loosened up over the day and by bed time it felt fine. Day 7+ - I use the Nubax 2-4 times a day as directed. I don’t get the good pops anymore, but my back doesn’t feel like it needs it. My thoracic and lower back feel great, probably a 90% improvement. I still get some tightness in my upper back and do not suspect that will ever get worked with the Nubax, but it really works for my lower and mid back. I’m hoping I can play golf and some of the other more physical things I have given up on over the years. Hope this helps. UPDATE - 1.5 years later and I'm still loving this and stand by my 5-star rating. I use it 1-2 times a week to help give a good stretch. I might get a pop or release every now and then but nothing like the amazing snap crackle pop within the first 2 weeks of owning it. I should probably use it more often than 1-2 times a week, but my back has been nearly pain-free so I do not always think about it. I highly recommend this for mid-back tension.

I don't usually do reviews, but in this case I'll make an exception. For the record, I have no association or relationship of any kind with any of the companies, including Amazon or Nubax, I'm just a consumer who bought this product, and I'm willfully sharing my experience. WHY I BOUGHT THE NUBAX What led me to buy this product is pain and fear. I'm in my late 40's, and have suffered with chronic back pain for close to 10 years. Every 8-16 months I would go through a period of debilitating back pain, which would last 3-6 weeks. My family doctors always wrote it off as muscular, based on X-rays, and they always simply prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxers. About 4 months ago I woke up one morning virtually unable to move. My lower back was so painful I couldn't even walk. My family doctor phoned in the prescription for the usual pain medication and muscle relaxers. After a week or so, the pain subsided slightly, enough to let me walk, but the problem wasn't going away this time. Worse, it was starting to affect my entire right side, including my shoulder and my right hip and leg. I was scared. That led to an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. At first his opinion was lumbardosis, but I pressed for facts not guesswork, and he sent me for an MRI. The results were very surprising, to me and my orthopedic surgeon; three herniated discs in my lower back (L6/L5, L5/L4, L4/L3), very clearly visible in the MRI. This explains my chronic back aches. So, the doc prescribed physio-therapy, daily exercise, pain killers and muscle relaxers. His advise was do the exercises, and when I feel pain coming on take the meds. He further told me that there is no getting better. My only hope, provided I do the exercises religously, is that it won't get much worse. In his expert opinion, there is no way to reverse the damage of herniated discs. More concerning, he told me it was likely that it will get worse, and that I will eventually need epidural injections in the spine. GREAT! That's where my journey to find some long-term relief began. I surfed the web and talked to people, and eventually came to believe that traction was the best option. That led to two choices, inversion table or home-based traction devices like the Nubax. I was a little hesitant about inversion, I'm not very keen on hanging upside down. So I decided to start with the Nubax instead. Now, bear in mind that I had been doing daily back exercises for 2 years, and after my last episode of debilitating back pain I was in worse shape than ever before. The worst pain was getting up from a sitting position, and standing or walking. The day the Nubax arrived I was unable to stand or walk for more than 10-15 minutes without having to sit down and stretch my back to relieve the pain. MY RESULTS I immediately started using the Nubax, two to three times daily, 3-minutes at a time. At first, I could feel some limited relief, but nothing earth shattering. I wasn't sure I would keep the device. After about 2 weeks of continued use I experienced my first back crack (more like a little crackle), and suddenly my back felt a little better. This was very encouraging. After continued use I had another crack every five to seven days, each time I felt like I had taken a step forward in pain relief. Now, after using the device for approximately one month, I truly feel like I've made significant progress. I'm not healed, by any stretch of the imagination, but for the first time in years I now feel like there is some hope that I won't be crippled in my old age. I can actually stand and walk for more than half an hour now, with very little pain. I can push it to an hour if I do a little stretching to keep my back loose. In fact, during the Christmas holiday I stood for several hours cooking the holiday dinner. This may not seem like much to most people, but it was a heaven-sent gift to me. The progress I've made so far was certainly worth the price of the device. USAGE SUGGESTIONS: I have discovered some things that can make using the Nubax a little better, easier. Maybe these will help you. 1- Wear loose clothing, or wear as little as possible on your torso. I prefer shirtless. The clothing can actually restrict your movement and limit the stretch you get. Belts also get in the way and will pinch your skin as you use the device, so take them off before you start. 2- Use a timer, and try to stay in the device for two to three full minutes each time. I use the countdown timer function on my blackberry, but an egg time or any timer with a bell or chime will do. 3- If you don't have a carpeted area where you can use the Nubax, use a folded towel or blanket under your knees so it is more comfortable. Make sure it is not too thick and that it doesn't slip, otherwise you'll find yourself slipping forward as you use it. 4- At first I found the device awkward to use, and it was very uncomfortable, even painful, on my shoulders. I then developed a technique where I position the back of my upper arms against the pads, with my wrists on the handle bars. This takes the pressure off the shoulders, and greatly reduced (not eliminated) the pain on my shoulders. 5- I use the Nubax two or three times daily, every morning after I do my back exercises, and then again as the very last thing I do before I go to bed at night (this is recommended by the manufacturer). The stretch before bed is vital because apparently it lets your back stay loose throughout the night without gravity compressing your spine. When time permits, I use the Nubax when I get home from work or at midday if I'm home. 6- Concentrate on loosening your back while you use the Nubax, and try to concentrate your stretch on your lower back. It took me while to get it right, and music or an iPod may help. You'll notice yourself slowly sinking lower and lower throughout the exercise as you loosen up. 7- Drink lots of water, apparently it helps to hydrate your discs in your spine, and improves disc healing (I was told this by a chiropractor and by my orthopedic surgeon). OTHER THOUGHTS Like most people have noted, the device itself is pretty simple, and the total sum of the materials is probably not more than about $50. It's not flimsy or anything, but certainly could have been made with heavier and better materials. Furthermore, the design could likely be improved and the whole device could be made to be more ergonomic and comfortable. That is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 4. But, with that said, I am glad I bought it, and I intend to continue using it for a long time, maybe for the rest of my life. PARTING ADVICE A word of caution to anyone reading this. Don't take this, or any other testimonial, as fact that this device will cure your ailment. My experience is my own, whether real or imagined, and there is no assurance that you will have the same experience as I have. No one can guarantee that you will feel better from using this device. My only suggestion is that you evaluate this info, along with other research, and decide for yourself if you think this device can help you. Honestly, I haven't even thrown out the box yet, in case I change my mind. But that is very unlikely now. I hope you find this review useful, and more importantly I hope you find relief for your back. There are few things I know of that are worse than a back pain. Good luck.

Let me state that this review is long over due and I purchased this item back in September of 2015. I wanted to give the Nubax Trio some time before giving a review. I think this product is definitely worth a try. There are several options out there for back pain reliever device and I feel this is one of them. Hopefully the company who created this will take into consideration the reviews left by people who've tried this device. I have a herniated disc in the L5-S1 and a bulging disc in L-4 L-5. With regular stretching recommend from your doctor and using the Nuback Trio I think makes a good combination in finding relief. It will take several attempts before getting use to this Nubax. I've learn to make some adjustment when using this. First placing a pillow on the floor where you will rest your knees helps a big deal. Especially if you don't have rug floors. I find that the Nubax will slide forward when not careful. Second, several reviews about this device will complain that their shoulders does not feel comfortable when place in position around the arm bars that creates the traction when leaning forward. At first I experience this, so I made adjustments with my arms by making sure my shoulder to my elbow is in line with the vertical bars that are position on each side of your body. Sometimes I would cross my arms when grabbing the handle bars and I find myself to be comfortable and there is no problems with my shoulders after finishing my stretch. I do caution not to overuse this product and to follow the instructions. Also when adjusting the strap that goes in front of your waist, start at a early position and get adjusted before changing the strap to a deeper stretch. When coming back up from leaning forward, I would use the bars on the side touching the floor and slowly push myself back up. Before getting up I would stay rested at my knees with my back straight and then proceed slowly to standup. Again I think this device is a good choice. Unfortunately it does take up some space so what I do is I hang it up against the wall. But hey something that doesn't complements the decor in your living room in exchange for back pain relief is worth it. I wish I had a bigger closet for storage though. Last but not least I look forward to a new and improve Nubax Trio whenever that will be.

I'm 6'4.5" 215 lbs and I fit in this device fine and I bought this device because I had been living with chronic mid back thoracic pain for 7 years which was slow and very slow going away but I needed something extra as I could not find any stretch that would get this ball of chronic pain out of my spine. I thought this pain was nerve but the mri did not show any problems. This one stretch I would do would great more of a bending of my spine that a traction and I felt traction was what I needed. I was looking at reviews for those medical devices I think one was called the dx9000 and similar ones but a website that tried to de myth these devices as very expensive traction devices. So I looked for ways to get traction for cheaper on my thoracic back which is not a common area that has been talked about compared to the lower back. Any way this device removed my chronic ball of pain within three days. Luck for me, but that is not the end of the story. I did email the company before I bought it and this is what they said. Thanks for your interest and enquiry about or Nubax Trio spinal traction device. The Nubaxc Trio applies a strong static traction along the entire length of the spine. It is however most effective from about the T6 down to the base of the spine. Mid Thoracic and lumbar. Unfortunately we do not have a distributor in Canada as yet. However if you go to www.nubaxtraction.com you will be able to purchase from there and it will be delivered to your address. If I can be of any further assistance please don’t hesitate to let me know. I believe that the numbering of the spine of each section cervical thoracic and lumber goes from 1 and then counts down each vertbre, so t12 is at the bottom not the top. I felt the most pull in the lower back but any pull in my thoracic was wonderful. It really does feel like a traction device. Like others say go slow and you can move your knees around to get a different stretch. The pain did go away but I know that there are still problems but this device helped my form the idea that I have alot of myofasical trigger points along my spine and around my back. So I am using the rubber beastie balls the yellow and clear one which I lay on at different paintful sites for 3 to 5 minutes each to melt away the myofasica that is to concrete like. Look up the info your self and use this books protocal you can find on the web or buy the book Myofascial Stretching: A Guide to Self-Treatment from jill and brenda. These two thin gs have helped the most and I can say the chronic ball of pain is gone but the lesser pains do come back if I am sitting aclkwardly with whatever chair or position. But now, using the beastie ball, then this device, and then stretching to help remove and form better myofasical for the back I feel I figured out my problem. So this is my process now The only thing I can say is that the pain was so great I thought it had to be nerve damage after all these years and now I believe its bad myofasica. And this device helps stretch it out and helps put somewhat of a pumping action on your disks to remove fluids and wastes when u hold a stretch for 1.5 minutes release 15 secs and then do that again a few more times. Remember there are still many more tomorrows so u can do a bit on it twice a day. I think you can abruptly over stretch your lower back if you fall into the stretch to fast. I feel the device stretch from my spine at the area below my armpits down to the lower back. And the stretching is felt more at the lower back than above but I knew my back wanted a traction stretch. I have never tried an inversion table or hang from a bar with teeter boots they are called? Anyway I'm canadian and I live close the border and so I go it sent close to the border of the usa and I brought it back home. I did not proof read. Bye Bye

First, I am probably worse off physically than most. I did not buy this to treat a pulled muscle or a singular recent back injury. I have multiple back injuries with chronic pain for 15+ years. I also had stage four thyroid cancer in 99 which adversely effected most of my neck and shoulder muscles resulting in a significant loss of strength. I bought this with an open mind and just some hope it might work even a little bit. After watching the videos from The Healthy Back Institute, You Tube and reading the reviews on Amazon I decided out of desperation to give this a try. I have spent over $6K on back treatments just in 2010. I had an L5 surgery in 1987, and have been dealing with chronic back pain for decades. After spending six weeks with the DRX9000 back stretching treatment with an MD costing over $5k earlier this year, I am willing to try just about anything. I hit a pothole with a motorcycle in Oct 2008 and have never recovered from the impact my back incurred that day. I spent nearly a year searching for help from the medical profession, only to be told you can not operate on nor fix an issue like this of the thoracic spine. 18 MRI's since 1986, 4 just in 2009 have shown a fused neck, 6 bulging discs, one fractured vertebra and no disc at L5. I can barely move most of the time. I have been told by numerous MD's and an orthopedic surgeon there is nothing they can do. I had waited a few months before deciding on purchasing this unit after first hearing about it and was VERY disappointed in the quality of the machine when I opened the box. Anyone that has purchased a Teeter's product can easily see the difference in quality between their products and the Nubax. There is NO comparison! IMO, this is no deal for $300. Comprised of inexpensive tubing, foam, poorly constructed but very well marketed. It would appear to be a good idea, but less than what I expected as far as the materials and construction. It seems many have just come to expect less than quality products as the norm these days. If it works for you, that is pretty much all that matters. It did not work for me and did more harm than good. I would not feel right trying to sell this to someone else. The first two times I used this I had so much pain in the shoulders I could barely move them for days. I worked through the pain hoping this would relieve some of the pain in my spine. It did not. After thinking about what Nubax had to offer for about a week, vs what it cost, I decided to return the item to Amazon. The Teeters EP950 inversion table is a great deal for your money and works well if you enjoy using one. I regret selling that at the advice of my MD, which at the time suggested I not use it due to loss of balance from 60 hrs in a Hyperbaric Oxygen tank to treat a 35 yr jaw bone infection. I can always buy another and may end up doing so. I also had a severe adverse reaction to the contrast dye used in an MRI in Jan 06 and had not been able to lay flat for 2.5 yrs after, as my spine was locked up due to the Magnevist contrast agent used. I was finally able to lay on my back after a month of sleeping on a Robert's moist heating pad. This gets extremely hot and you need to use a great deal of padding to protect your bed and your body. I used a sheepskin pad under it and four layers of heavy bath towels on top to prevent getting burned. It does not have a temperature setting and uses a dead man, on/off switch to prevent being burned should you fall asleep using it. My most recent purchase to try to solve my chronic back issue was the Teeter's Lynx portable back stretcher from Amazon. The only problem I had with it was difficulty getting the adjuster on the ankle grips to move (still waiting for a return call from Teeters). Everything else about it is the kind of quality product you expect from Teeters. Outstanding! I used it for the first time yesterday and admit to overdoing it, not realizing just how much of a pull this puts on your spine. I still find it difficult to lay flat on my back. After just 15 minutes or so using this, I found it all but impossible to get off the floor once I had used it. The pain was excruciating! The good news is, some hours later, I experienced a great deal of relief! I am now using the Robert's moist heating pad with four layers of bath towels on top, to warm up the muscles and will most likely buy the Teeter's vibrating massage pad to put under my back prior to using the Lynx. This little machine by far exceeds the stretch I got on the professional DRX9000 machine offered by an MD. I hope to provide an update on the progress in a couple of months. Another plus is its very compact size and travel case. With so many products available from Amazon and their outstanding customer service, it is by far the only affordable option I have to trying alternate therapies and I really appreciate and depend on the product reviews prior to making my purchases.
