love bob's red mill for the reliable, high-quality ingredients. we don't usually use mixes but because of the brand, I trust that there aren't harmful additives. this is a quick recipe that never lasts long in our home!

I purchased both Lodge cornbread mix and Bob's Red Mill signature cornbread mix to compare. Bob's Red Mill has a smoother texture and better taste than the Lodge brand. Lodge is a bit gritty. I have reordered the Bob's Red Mill, and will continue to enjoy my cornbread.

This is the best cornbread I've had in years.

This tastes like old fashioned cornbread from the 1950's. It's not overly sweet, like so many other brands. And the ingredients are better than other brands. It's not gritty, and bakes moist. That being said, we kind of would like it to be a tad bit more sweet. It's good with butter and honey, and you can get the extra sweetness with the honey. We could probably add a touch of sugar into the mix also. Four stars because it just seems to be lacking some pizzazz. It doesn't say, Make me again.

Orders of magnitude better than others. Combines best of Southern no-flour cornbread with Yankee cornbread. Not too sweet, with natural corn flavor upfront. Perfect crumb. Bob’s Red Mill never disappoints.

So hard to find cornbread mix that isn't super sweet these days. This mix is good quality but it is way too sweet for me.

Did my research on Bob' Red Mill corn meal because what is available in the markets, and there are lot's are all loaded with bad preservatives despite their name brands are rated terrible. Bob Red Mill comes in much better so I can feel better about serving to my family. Disadvantage seems to be you cannot order just one package so you are out more of an investment up front. Was worth it to me but if that is a factor perhaps hunting down a local source for the brand is your option. PS. They cook up great with a wonderful texture and favor. I do add just a touch of honey to the batter before baking.

Excellent choice for cornbread! I add buttermilk and a quarter cup of sugar…makes good tasting cornbread. My 12 year old ate almost the entire 8x8 pan of cornbread.

Easy to make, good flavour and texture. Bit pricey but came out really nice. Would buy it again.

I like making my own soup, from homemade stock. My intention this time round was to make broccoli and cheese, which is always good. It occurred to me that cornmeal dumplings would be a good accompaniment. However, for some reason, I'm not always successful with dumplings, though I'm a good cook otherwise. Then the idea hit me: American cornbread, but baked in a muffin tray. Cornbread muffins baked that way would be the right size. I chose this brand because no milk is needed. I don't drink milk, and rarely have it in the house. This brand was a good choice in any case: the cornbread "muffins" turned out real nice. There was enough batter for eleven of them. I had some over, after finishing the soup, so put them in the fridge. Next morning, they had dried out slightly. Steaming for about ten minutes got them tender again. Three cornmeal muffins with strong black coffee to accompany made for a very enjoyable mid-morning meal. To conclude, I am very satisfied with this product, and will buy it again. A little expensive, it must be admitted, so it will have to be an occasional thing.
