The cards are sturdy, and even after being smeared with an assortment of craft supplies, the content is still readable, the colors still shimmer with learning, and the fonts are still top notch. Every evening, when I pick the cards up off the floor, where they inevitably land as my daughter’s younger sibling (that is all I will call him,) tosses them across the living room like rolls of paper towels tossed into a crowd; I close my eyes and think of that moment that will eventually follow the first time my vacant-eyed toddler correctly identifies the word, “ME” in black lettering. It will be that moment when the principle is handing my kid some sort medal for mental strength or whatever, and that principle looks up into the crowd, locks eyes with me, and gives me the slowest, sweetest, head nod ever given, like he knows it was me, my tireless work with Junior McSmartyPants on her flash cards that made it all work out. And let me stress again, that these cards - their font game is bananas.

I can see why these cards are award winning. They were fun to incorporate in during our daily reading time and helped increase my daughter's vocabulary. The color is bright and the cards are thick. They are sorted among grades and offer a wide range.

These cards have a large spelling word written on each side. However, they repeat the word in small letters on the opposite side. So if you are using the cards to prompt a child to spell by aloud memory, you have to cover up the tiny word at the top of the card when you hold it; otherwise, the child can read the spelling off the card, if you are seated near. Not sure why they thought hey had to repeat the word in little letters on the opposite side of the card.

As the parent of 6 and 4 year old little ones, I was looking for something educational and fun that would pry my kids away from the TV, tablet or other electronic devices. I noticed the Sight Word Flash cards on Amazon and decided to give them a try. I am so happy that I did! My daughter is in 1st grade and loves them. She uses the 1st, 2nd and even attempts the 3rd grade cards. Some of the Pre-K words were a bit tough for my preschooler, but because he sees his sister using the flash cards, he is encouraged to push himself to learn the words as he develops as a reader. The cards themselves are well made and sturdy. They make use of both sides of the cards so there are plenty of words to learn. The size of the cards are big enough for little hands to hold on their own. The single angled corner for sorting is great. Each pack is compact enough to throw into a bag to take with you to the park or anywhere else you travel. Also, the 6 suggested games extend the lifespan and use of these cards long after they learn the words. This product is amazing. My daughter expressed wanting to learn to read while she was in Pre-k. I ordered these the same day based off of the reviews and I am so happy I did. We practiced everyday after homework, and I also made games out of them to make it fun. She is now in the 1st grade reading at a 3rd grade level, her teachers are so impressed. I've had several parents from her class asking what I did and I did not hesitate sharing this product. Would recommend it 1000000x . :-)

I am not a fan of the double sized cards because my Kindy kid has a specific range of sight words and some of them are on both side of the cards where-as most are not. I also wish the font was larger. The volume of words is excellent.
