Jason Fung is on to something with this book. If you are curious about this disease I’d highly recommend this book. This book goes into great detail about how the body functions. Very interesting and helpful

Diabetic book
Lots of good information in the book. I tried the diet and I cannot fast like that I can go without 2 of the meals but not 3 in a row. I have notice a change in my numbers and I am pleased with that. I eliminated a lot of food. I feel better

A MUST read book--even if you are healthy.
First of all--I was quite ignorant when it comes to Diabetes and what cause it. Recently, about two months ago--I was diagnosed as a diabetic person. The most interesting aspect from this news was the way it was given to me. “Sr, you are a diabetic and, to top it a little bit more, you also have high blood pressure. So, here they are: Take this pill for your diabetes and take this other one for your high blood pressure. And, see you next month--so that we can give more pills.” But--guess what? I too am curious and now I wanted to learn everything about this so common disease. In fact--we can call it an epidemic disease. As more and more people are finding out and acting surprised as I was--and getting out of the Doctors office saying to myself....me? Am I really a diabetic person? Now what? I have learned that many of us have high glucose but we really never care to check ourselves more often. Now--thanks to Dr. Fung---I think I am quite aware of the many possibilities of being "positive" for a Diabetes diagnosis. The main question for myself was....How come I don't have those symptoms? The explanation was: this is just a warning--your 131-glucose level; after a 12 hr fast--is a clear indicator you are a diabetic person. Two months later--after reading these two books---and not talking any pills. I have been able to lower my glucose bellow 100 and also to lower my blood pressure just by doing an intermittent fasting. This fasting took away many pounds in my first two weeks---quite fast. I am looking forward to acquiring my target weight soon. I can definitely see and personally experience why we are so afraid to stop eating. This book opened my eyes and my mind to understand many things about this disease and its causes. It is so sad most Doctors only care about giving you pills to treat the symptoms but never care to explain root causes and how to reverse these out of whack readings. So--please, take the time to read this book and share your findings. This is the best book to read and practice even if you never have been diagnosed with diabetes. You may be able to help someone you care about or yourself. Thank you, Dr. Fung, you are indeed an amazing Doctor and a most caring person for writing this book and educate us.

No More Dieters' Guilt
This book did an excellent job of convicting me as to the need for fasting and further refining how I eat for a while. I shared with my niece who is at high risk for diabetes and we began fasting together immediately. I think the best illustration was that the fat stored at the bottom of overstuffed cells is rotting, and thus creating systemic problems healthwise. That makes a lot of sense. I think the best news is that so many health issues are completely reversible when you fast an allow the body to clean out the fat in the cells, thus flushing the rot and functioning properly. The fact that the body will store fat around your internal organs explains why I feel heavier and denser, but still mostly fit into the same pant size. But the complications from that are frightening. I love how he completely debunks the lie that you have to eat less and exercise more. That's never worked for me. But not eating for 3 days - I know that works. Now I just have a plan to do that strategically. I would have liked a bit more information on what to expect when you start fasting - detox reactions, etc. That would have been nice. I know that additional information can be found on DoctorYourself . com about juice fasting. That's been helpful additional information. It's also been helpful tactically, since my body responds better after 2-3 days of fasting, which is hard to do on just water. Overall, I highly recommend the book. I've told multiple people about it already. If nothing else, it will absolve dieters' guilt about not being able to take weight off, or keep weight off, with conventional methods and diets. He explains how you can get upside down with energy, health, hormones and other factors that simply make the eat less/exercise more formula impossible to adhere to. For me, my body responds best to the fasting. Don't let anyone who's made the exercise thing work for them make you feel bad. This book brings real hope.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Every diabetic should read it and everyone should read The Obesity Code as well. I recently found out I had type 2 diabetes. I am genetically predisposed to diabetes and have struggled to lose weight for the past 12 years. I felt like a wall was preventing all my weightloss efforts from reaching my fat cells. Nothing was working. This wall is insulin and Dr. Fung has helped me destroy the wall. I have lost 18 pounds in 7 weeks and have already managed to reach a normal blood glucose reading. The best part is that it is so simple. Weightloss should be free. No special meal plans, supplements, subscriptions. Just simple logic. Enjoy the read and reach your health goals quickly and easily!

Excellent explaination of basic concepts facilitating understanding of person with no medical background. This is one of the best book on type 1 and type 2 diabetes that I have come across in addition to Type 1 diabetes in children by Dr Ragnar Hanas which is akin to bible for type 1 diabetes. This book by Dr Fung gives profound knowledge with simple illustrations from our day to day life. I am truly indebted to Dr Fung for this masterpiece.
