This kit has everything I needed to start needle felting, right out of the box. A total newbie, I decided to make acorns to start with to decorate a mini tree. I did buy a large pack of natural colored roving to use for cores, because the packs of wool in this one looked pretty small in the photo. Well, there is a lot more wool in those packs than I expected and the range of colors is awesome. The roving is very clean, consistent color, and I found it easy to work with. Still learning, but pleased with the results. I appreciate that all the tools are in a small box so I can keep things tidy. The finger protectors actually fit and are nicely made. There are a few extras, like eyes, but I think this is a great beginner kit because you get more than enough to make quite a lot of things without a bunch of 'extras' that you may never use. Great value for someone wanting to learn needle felting! Bonus: Great stress reliever at the end of a hectic day.

Loving this kit! I wanted to try felting and was looking for something inexpensive that would provide the supplies needed to give me a decent idea of what this craft was about. This kit DID NOT disappoint! Was super easy to use and provided a ton of color options. There is a card inside that gives simple instructions and a url to download a free set of instructions for some craft ideas (I did not use it). The instructions are quite clear and I found quite a bit of luck watching YouTube videos of others, showing how to felt. This is a great activity for me to do while watching tv, after everyone has gone to bed. Doesn't take much room or concentration. Just overall fun!

Okay, I decided that I needed a new hobby for 2020. For various reasons, not the least of which was the opportunity to stab something repeatedly, I opted for needle felting. I chose this particular product based on a combo of reviews plus price. It came when promised. The plastic that held the plastic that held the product was sticky as old thick plastic sometimes gets; I discarded it. Unlike the product pictures, the finger guards (necessary for a beginner) were white, and one had a blue ballpoint pen mark as if someone had tried the product and then returned it. Didn't affect performance, but still a bit disappointing. The other pieces were fine. I was able to download the project booklet just fine, and I made the little owl as my first project. It was fairly easy, though I expect an innate craftiness is a benefit. The needle did bend at some point, but I was still able to use it. The reason I'm knocking off a star is because of the feeling that it wasn't entirely new. Since I'm a beginner, it wasn't an issue. However, it would have seemed a bit cheap had it been a gift. Overall, a great beginner set.

I have had other needle felting kits, but none of them really came close to this one in terms of having all the “hardware” you might want. Lots of good stuff in this one! I love having lots of colors of roving to play with- these are small amounts but enough to get you started and it’s fun to blend and play with the colors! Comes with tools I didn’t know I needed and a great case for the tools. Larger bag for whole kit is awesome as well

I love my kit!! Quilting, knitting, painting are not my thing so it was great fun to discover this kit and be easily able to make fun little creatures. The colors alone bring great delight and make you just plain happy. The only minor comment I'd make is that there is no explanation of all the tools in the great little tool kit - 2 needle sizes (what is the difference), when to use the shears, and what is the awl for? Otherwise, the e-book was easy to follow. Highly recommend!

I wanted a nice kit to get started in felting, and this was perfect! The booklet was helpful with straight-forward with tips and the huge selection of colors is amazing for the price. All of the tools come in a neat box with extra needles and even a pair of very thoughtful finger protectors. I couldn't resist digging into the supplies and made a little bee buddy just for fun. For beginners who want to experiment with felting, this kit has everything you need and I certainly recommend it. :)

Bought this for 11y old. Needs a bit more guidance. A book idea of what to make. This would have been a way better buy if it had an idea book.

The needle felting kit itself is awesome! It has every tool to help a beginner start out! I would say the same as many other people regarding the wool amounts: the size of the colors is quite tiny (palm sized when packaged, when stretched out about as long as my hand) but there is quite a variety! Here is the shade ratio (at least in my order) for anyone who's curious! Reds: 3 Oranges: 4 Yellows: 3 Greens: 4 Blues: 4 Teals: 3 Purples: 4 Pinks: 4 Browns: 3 Then 1 black, 1 grey, and 2 whites. (I also did what some other users recommended and ordered a large supply of white to fill out my creations, and so I can save and add color as i see fit.) Have yet to check out the ebook, but I'm excited to!
