Excellent Security and Peace of Mind
★★★★★ One of the Best Security Upgrades I've Made I installed this Ring Battery Doorbell Pro and have been extremely pleased with it. The video quality is excellent, the motion detection works very well, and the notifications arrive quickly. One of my favorite features is the two-way talk. Whether I'm at home or away, I can see who's at the door and communicate with them easily. The audio quality has been clear and reliable. The 3D Motion Detection is a big improvement and helps reduce unwanted alerts while giving me confidence that I'm being notified when it matters. Setup was straightforward, and the battery-powered design made installation much easier. I use it for both convenience and security, and it has exceeded my expectations. It provides peace of mind whether I'm at home, at work, or traveling. This has been a great investment, and I would definitely purchase it again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve the security of their home or business.

I wish I had one of these 10 years ago!
This is a great device for security and convenience. It works well, and I got the associated indoor chime to go with it so I can hear a verbal announcement when someone rings the bell. The videos and still shots are very crisp and clear 15-20 feet to the sides of my front door and in front of it as well. Videos I have set to be taken when motion is detected within the range I set, and they are stored until I delete them (which I do daily unless they have something on them I have to keep). I am somewhat disappointed about the battery life. If I start with a fully charged battery and the Ring app on my phone shows it is 100% charged, I find the battery goes down 1.5-2% each day, depending on the "traffic" that was videotaped. I would guess my average battery life (I change it at about 5-10% battery charge left) is about 7 weeks or 8 if I let it totally drain. I don't mind, since I have another battery ready to put in. I keep a spare battery fully charged, so it is quick and easy to replace with a fresh battery. Great product when we live in times where people and packages are not nearly as safe as they were years ago.

Disappointed in this model
UPDATE: Ring support reached out to me to troubleshoot the issue. They determined that my unit was defective and replaced it. The new doorbell cam works great and I’m satisfied with the results and fantastic customer service. I will say that there are some settings trade-offs with the battery model, but I’m happy with it. INITIAL REVIEW: I replaced an older wired pro that kept losing connection to my Chime. I thought this would have similar performance, but it doesn’t. My biggest issue is with the detection range. For example, it misses the giant garbage truck and the UPS truck at my curb. Also, there’s too much delay between events. Sometimes I only see a delivery person walking AWAY or not at all! Also, the batteries don’t seem to trickle charge like they’re supposed to. Only positives are the color night vision and the wider vertical view. If you can, buy a wired model.

Great upgrade from Ring Doorbell 2020
One thing I always fear when upgrading is drilling new holes. My Ring Doorbell (2020) was starting to show it's age and I wanted a camera with a wider head to toe angle and this didn't disappoint. Shown on my pictures is the corner kit I used for the Original Ring Doorbell (720p). The 3 corner pieces interlock and I just use a long screw to hold it together on the top and bottom. The 2020 doorbell didn't exactly fit the original corner kit because it has a bracket that you attach the doorbell to, then secure it with two screws on the bottom. The power is still connected to the Ring Doorbell itself. It did leave very small gap on the top but the doorbell area is sheltered from the elements. Fast forward to 2025. I was able to remove the old doorbell and old bracket. To attach the Ring Doorbell PRO, I had to remove one of the corner pieces and use the corner kit that came with the doorbell. The power is still attached to the back of the doorbell. The black corner kit is smooth and doesn't lock with the old pieces of the corner kit. It does stay flushed against it. While someone is holding the 3 pieces together, you use the long screw on the top and bottom to secure all 3 pieces. Make sure everything is even. Once that is done, you can connect the power to the back of the Doorbell PRO. Then use the 4 short screws to attach the Ring Doorbell to the black corner piece that came with the doorbell. Pop in the battery and you are ready to set up in the APP. After the doorbell is added, you can put the cover on and use the short security screw to keep the battery door shut. It was easy to set up in the APP and it instantly recognized my indoor chime without me going through set up menus. I was back in business and so happy I upgraded. The motion detection is nice and you need to set the notifications in the MOTION settings. The default is people only. The doorbell itself uses Smart Technology to eliminate all the false alerts. The setting I used was people, send a notification. Vehicles, record but don't send notification. Other motion, record but don't send notification. The Doorbell PRO is well worth the upgrade! The video is clearer and the pre-roll feature is very nice.

Nice camera, but misses some motion and has doorbell compatibility problems.
This replaced an earlier Ring Doorbell I had. This unit works well, has good coverage of my porch and the 'radar' feature seems pretty accurate. Resolution in both day and night is good although I really can only make out things on my immediate porch and not much further. Downsides I've seen: This unit was missing motion events on my porch. For example, deliveries being made to my front door where the camera COMPLETELY missed the action. I had to crank up the motion sensitivity and frequency to the max just to get the unit to not miss obvious events. I've also had problems with doorbell compatibility. My old Ring doorbell worked well with the diode installed between the terminals. This unit, was supposed to not need that but it doesn't work reliably with my doorbell at all now.

We love the Ring doorbell so much we bought the Ring cameras for the house.
Yes, buy it. Great video with excellent quality picture. My husband was able to install it himself as mounting was easy. We did buy the subscription for recording which seemed pretty reasonably priced.

Ring Camera
I love it. I can hear clearly and see clearly day and night. It was easy to put together. It does require a subscription. It has a doorbell and was easy to mount.

Ring Battery Doorbell Pro
As of 10/2025 we have utilized the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro for 12 months. We have cancelled the “Standard” Ring Doorbell plan as the unit simply stopped detecting motion and packages consistently after the first 3-4 months. The Health check and signal strength always showed no problems. The unit now is just used to answer the doorbell and manual live checks. We have used various configurations along with Ring’s default/recommended settings. The unit is installed on our front door at the recommended height above the ground. We had it set to detect people motion to a distance of thirty feet from the unit, using the Bird’s Eye view at about a 180 degree radius from the unit. Package detection was also activated with its separate detection zone around the front porch. We also purchased the Ring charging station with two additional Ring batteries. When working we had moderate motion activity within the 30’ 180 degree radius. We subscribed to the Ring “Standard Plan” which avails most features in this Ring model as well as video retention for ninety days. When we purchased the Ring Doorbell the “Basic Plan” had the features we needed. A week later we had to upgrade, despite receiving a confusing and misleading email indicating no change in the Basic Plan features. Pros: (Based on Standard Plan features. Most not available in “Basic Plan”). -Sound and video quality good without using HDR, with other settings at Ring recommended levels. -Ability to eliminate vehicle and other motion detection. -Ability to set separate detection zones for motion and package detection. -Ability to change Modes and sub notifications for motion detection as Home, Away and Disarm (like for Halloween, etc). -Ability to choose chime notifications (like motion at Front Door). -Ring App notifies when battery needs to be recharged. Can remove battery without removing entire unit. -Ring Charging Station takes two and a half to three hours to fully charge from a charge level of approximately thirty percent. Cons -Issues must arise within 30 days of purchase to return to Amazon. Otherwise, you have to deal with Ring support and may be stuck with a defective unit. -Must subscribe to a Ring plan to retain videos. Have to subscribe above the Basic Plan for useful features such as Mode settings. -Using 5Ghz, the signal is consistently poor and the unit will not operate properly. No interference from other devices and the router is current and 20’ away with no obstructions. Other devices using 5Ghz have strong signals and function properly even when 50’ + away. -Ring App is not overly intuitive. Making things worse are the lacking and non-informative feature purposes and descriptions for a first time Ring user. You will have to do separate web searches to get a full understanding of how certain features work, interact with other settings and what they actually do and don’t do. -Regardless of settings used, after the first 3-4 months the unit was deteriorating in capturing motion. After 12 months, only captured approximately 15% of motion incurred. Same for packages (even larger ones). Lens is clean, not in direct sunlight or other obstructions and software is updated automatically by Ring. Interestingly, Amazon deliveries would never be captured nor their packages. Health check always showed everything working fine with a strong signal on 2.4Ghz. -Battery replacement for charging is straight forward except for the Security Screw which is small, not magnetized and is placed on bottom of unit. It can be easily dropped from unit and lost through spaces in porch or adjacent ground. This is a notable weakness. Place something under the unit to catch the screw. -Batteries only recharge to around 92%. Unless you remove and replace in charging unit a few times to get some additional charging (94%-98%). However, after a day (even with very limited use) the charge level will drop 10-15%. - Often false motion detection due to wind, cars (despite being excluded motion) along with inconsistent video capture. -Battery life for us with moderate activity and using Ring recommended battery saving settings was approximately 16 to 24 days. Slightly less in Winter (temps 10-30 degrees Fahrenheit). The Ring batteries have lost charging capacity after a few uses and rotation. Conclusion - Over a short period the unit significantly degraded in motion detection performance. We bought on sale with a large discount and the performance experienced does not justify full price. I would go down one to two model levels (which have most of the same features) and only when on sale. Look for reviews in the different model lines to determine associated performance issues prior to purchasing. Those reviews are likely more indicative as component quality has become quite inconsistent and deteriorated in recent models and features. I would not rely on reviews unless the model has been in use over three months. The chances of getting a defective device without recourse are real!

Pro model chalk and cheese over the standard model.
This ring battery Pro is much better than the standard battery doorbell. The std 2024 door bell gave strange background noise garbles and being PIR often missed a fast delivery person even with parcel mode enabled. The Pro model has pure clear audio, fast pick up as not a PIR type. Battery life is very good too. My only gripe is having to remove a security screw, a cover to get battery out to charge. The std model had a lever tool making it quick n easy. My new Pro is mounted central above the dead lock of 2 double front doors where its not possible to get wires thru the door to run off ext power or even solar. My Front doors are recessed in an enclosed archway so corner mounting was not an option to get a decent view beyond the archway.

Great unit.
Great unit. You don’t need to get the display (eg Echo Show 5). The mobile phone is perfectly fine as a display unit. I used the 3M VHB 4910F clear double sided tape to attach it to a glass panel. Although the unit is not recommended to be attached to glass panels, this particular tape from research seems to be able to handle the outside environment. I am in Sydney with hot summers.

Great for transforming your front door into a communications portal.
The Ring Doorbell is an excellent device. It does 90% of what most people want out of the box - good video, reliable alerts, built-in communication, etc. But that last 10% - the ability to look back, download recordings, get smarter alerts - makes a big difference in real life. And it sucks a little that those capabilities require an ongoing fee. If you’re okay with paying a modest subscription, the Ring becomes far more powerful. If not, it still works well - just with limitations. All up, though, I’d still recommend it if you want modern smart doorbell functionality. Just go in knowing exactly what features are free, and what you’ll need to pay for.

Not as good as previous model
Started out fine but now hardly senses or records things at night!! Resetting doesn't fix it!!

Works well, easy to install
Easy to install and the images are clear, even at night. We have a lot of petty crime in our area and I feel more secure with this video doorbell. I will add to it (solar-powered video camera) soon to extend the coverage.
