This Tool Works for Me
For reference, I brush, floss, and gargle twice a day, so I have pretty good oral health. From my point of view looking at my throat, I do not have visible pockets in my tonsils. However, likely from occasional post nasal drip, colds, occasional silent gerd, not drinking enough water, and perhaps tonsil anatomy, I will get a sort of vertical tonsil stone that will peek out from BEHIND my right tonsil. Sometimes I feel it has broken off and I've swallowed it :( But sometimes I can see it ever-so-slowly growing and peeking out more and more each day. I know tonsil stones can emit a VERY UNPLEASANT ODOR, so I therefore want to remove it before it becomes noxious. I shine a flashlight in my mouth with my left hand, squeeze the bulb completely with my right hand, say "Ahhh," keep my eyes on the target, and send the tip of the tube into my mouth gently but FAST. As SOON as it passes into the open space of my throat and curves toward the back side of right tonsil, I ease toward the stone, and release the bulb. In that split second moment, I can hear the suction, and the hard bit gets sucked into tube for rinsing away. I consider myself to have a strong gag reflex, and I am not one to poke around in my throat because I understand that's not a healthy and safe thing to do. But when I see the stone, I prep, and I get in and out FAST. That's when I can successfully remove the stone. I cannot guarantee this will work for you because your stones may be more tightly embedded, you might have deeper pockets, or your anatomy might just be different. But this works for me. Afterwards, I continue to brush, floss, and gargle twice a day, and only a few weeks later might I feel the need to suction from that same spot again. I would recommend this product as it is relatively safe, effective, and cost effective. The suction is pretty strong, in my opinion. Touching your tonsils or back of the tongue or throat is not pleasant, but if you work gently but FAST, you'll get more skilled and won't be too bad.

I feel very safe using this product
Yuck, tonsil stones! this has certainly helped in getting rid of tonsil stones. Not pleasant to have . I feel very safe using this product. Don’t worry about accidentally swallowing it or it breaking in my mouth. It is a necessary tool to get rid of them.

Very helpful for getting tonsil stones, but it's hard to use the suction feature
I love the O-shaped attachment that allows me to gently coax the tonsil stone out, like a satisfying accomplishment. This was the main reason I bought thisThe light helps me to easily see where the ugly little stones are hiding. I haven't used the scoop attachments, and for now I don't see the need to (I had a previous one [a different brand] that was a scoop, and, trust me, the ring shaped attachment is much better). The second reason I got this was for the suction/squirting bulb. I was really excited to use it until I saw that it doesn't light up. So you either have to blindly guess where to use it or feel like your playing Operation on your mouth by using both the bulb and the device that lights up at the same time. So I've basically given up on using the bulb. The box didn't come with specific directions, other thann to go to the Oravix site for how to videos and tips. But when I went to the site, I got 404 errors whenever I clicked on the links with the instructions. So for the O-shaped attachment I'd say 5 stars, but with the other instruments and instructions, it brings it down to 4. I will, however, continue to use it!

Not for me
The product itself is great, easy to use and suction is great. I personally had a hard time using it because I have a horrible gag reflex and the suction is too much for me. I won’t hate on the product though because of my own issues lol

Amazing.
Oh my goodness. I was wondering if this would work and I usually don't intentionally come back and leave a review but I am. I had two tonsil stones that I could not get rid of. I kept trying and had them now for over a month. I would chip away at them. I usually get tonsil stones maybe a few times a year and they come right now. So I almost bought the automatic one but then saw some medical reviews about they are bad and use the manual. So I bought this one and the smaller one was very easy to get out and absolutely no gagging. I was impressed so much better than using qtips. Then the bigger one that I was struggling with I tried probably a good 5 times and it slowly came out and then I figured I would just try that same spot again to make sure nothing else is in that pocket and omg I ended up getting two other large stones out. I was shocked and I have very clean teeth and good teeth no cavities ever and really take care of myself but since perimenopause my body is a hot mess. So I feel very happy with this product. My throat feels so much better I can't explain it. So if you need something simple that is painless and really works this is the product.

Didn’t work for me.
I had high hopes for this product but it just didn’t work out for me. I’ve been getting the occasional tonsil stone since I was a kid and have a really hard time getting them out. I was hoping the suction would make it an easy process, but all I sucked up was spit. I think that my tonsil stones might be too obscured by my tonsils for this to get them out.
