CXN100 - Separate High Resolution WiFi Network Audio Player, Streamer and Pre Amp with Display Featuring Chromecast Built-in, Internet Radio and Sabre Reference DAC - Lunar Grey

The CXN100 is an excellent audiophile level music streamer! I have a very respectable hifi system, and my streamed music has never sounded so good. I subscribe to Spotify and Tidal, and am finally able to fully appreciate the high resolution music that they offer. I am also streaming FLAC music files from a flash drive plugged into the CXN100, and these sound great as well. Music through the CXN100 has a huge soundstage, and is very detailed, and excellent dynamics. The Cambridge app is also easy to set up and connect, and easy to use.

Love it! Even my wife who always wonders why I waste/spend time just “listening to music” noticed the difference. The Cambridge is connected to a McIntosh C2300 amp going to Sonus Faber tower speakers. It’s like listening to your favorite songs for the first time. There were some negative reviews about the quality of the sound. Whatever your music source, make sure the settings are so that you get the best music stream. For example, on Spotify, set the audio quality to “Lossless.” Love the depth of sound. Very pleased with my investment!

I bought this to go with my Cambridge setup consisting of an AXR85 receiver and AXC35 cd player. I’m using it for two things. Streaming and as a dac for my tv. As a streamer I can’t fault it. As a dac for the tv I’m finding too much lag between the picture and sound. I never had this issue on the $20 dac from Bestbuy. Didn’t expect to have this on an expensive piece of kit. For now it’s 4/5 stars for me until there’s a patch for this or I find a work around.

I bought the CXN100 to stream music through services like Qobuz—I wasn’t interested in managing digital files or navigating endless setup options. After a lot of research, I chose the CXN100 and have been very happy with it. Setup was quick and intuitive, and the interface—both on the device and in the app—is clean and easy to use. The sound quality is excellent: clear, detailed, and balanced. If you want a high-quality streamer that’s simple to set up and just works, the CXN100 is a great option. Those who want deep customization might find it limited, but for straightforward streaming, it’s ideal.

I am very happy with this Cambridge Audio product. I am using it to play premium Amazon Music FLAC files. The IPhone app works great too. I think the only wish is that it also had an HDMI port.

So, bought this unit mostly to replace using my phone (music files stored on phone sdcard) to play music through my mcintosh amp. The soundstage, clarity, and transparency from this unit is vastly improved over my samsung s20 phone. I can change volume or change songs easily through the app on my phone allowing me to keep my phone for other uses . I have an ssd connected through the usb port on the back of CA unit now accessing my music. Accessing ssd is a bit tedious: sometimes shows drive, sometimes not. Biggest reservation is the lack of bass punch. With my phone (no eq used) the viseral impact was considerable. I could set my glass breakage sensors on my home alarm off with certain songs (def leopard, pink floyd). With CA unit, bass is diminished. No chance of setting glass breakage sensors off. Might get a sub for the future, but diminished bass in the mains is obviously not desirable. Streaming through Spotify has worked well. Sub out would have been nice too So far, price seems good for the unit. But miss the viseral impact from before. What a quandary
