Apex Plus Flea & Tick Prevention Drops for Cats, 1.5+ lbs, 6-Month Supply

This formula does have it's uses for me. For my inside cats, this does not work as well as the other commonly available OTC flea treatment for cats. They do tolerate it better though. They definitely hate the other brand for some reason, but when it gets bad, I end up having to use it anyway. This formula does work and seems to be milder, but a few fleas always seem to be able to resist it. It does kill the vast majority though. Where I found the best use for this is kittens. I hate using the other stuff unless I have to on my older cats. No way will I use it on kittens. I lost one kitten to flea anemia before I realized how bad the issue was. I really didn't know fleas could kill a cat. Apparently kittens and older or sick cats are at the greatest risk. The fleas can suck enough blood to kill them. I learned the hard way. Because of my ignorance, I lost the sweetest kitten I had. After that I used this on the others and fed them some chicken livers daily for about a month or so. This killed 99% of the fleas and I was able to get it under control and save the rest. A good dawn bath and flea combing will get rid of the fleas on them if you do it right. After they dry off good, give it 24 hours for the skin to get some oil back, use this. You should be good for about a month. One month later, no sooner, you can reapply this if needed. I recommend this for kittens under 6 months and not anything else. I know the other stuff I use is too strong. Dawn baths also work, but you have to do it good, start at the neck and go down. Use a flea comb and take your time. Unless they are moved from their current environment or the area is treated, they will get fleas again. You need this to kill 99% of them to prevent flea anemia. The best thing to do is move them to an area where there aren't any fleas if you can. Bathe and treat them first though, to prevent any unwanted guests tagging along! I take care of 30 abandoned cats and gave never had any issues using this. I have had issues with the other leading brand, nothing life threatening, just discomfort and drooling. This is your safest and best bet for vulnerable cats like kittens, seniors and ill ones.

If you’re wondering about this brand, don’t! We applied it to our three 2+ month old kittens. They kept scratching and scratching and we not noticing the fleas. We applied at 7pm by morning not a one of them was scratching anymore. We have not noticed any side effects, product has no scent, or no signs of skin irritations on any of them. This is does not treat heart worms etc but it does do what it says. Kills fleas so they can rumble and tumble as kittens do with out pausing to scratch. And it doesn’t break the bank.

Works great got rid of the fleas. Don’t use it for more than 3 months in a row or it stops working ( all pest control meds do this)

I do not believe this product has the active ingredients it claims. We have a feral kitten that showed up and we gave her baths and tried to get as many fleas off as possible which my husband has done with tweezers and frequently combing her fur with a flea comb. As soon as she was old enough we put this on her according to the directions. There was no reduction in fleas so after two weeks we dosed her again when it’s supposed to work for a month. Again there is no reduction in fleas. This is an inside cat. My dog has always been on flea control and still is and the product we use for him has a noticeable kind of chemical scent but this doesn’t smell like anything. My husband just tweezed off over 30 fleas on our poor kitten in 30 minutes. We’ve washed the bedding, we have hardwood floors & leather couches and have vacuumed the rugs with our pricy canister vac... There’s no way this product contains the legitimate chemicals in the concentrations listed. I’ve never used a more useless flea product in my life. This should be pulled off Amazon.

Worked on some didn't work on others. Guess it's not the product fault. Those fleas are getting immune to everything

I applied the flea meds as directed in between separated hair on back of neck on my two indoor/outdoor cats. Neither cat had any type of reaction at all, no sensitivity. That was a week ago. Neither cat has fleas. It seemed to work the same as several other brands I have used, no problems at all. You can't beat the price! Of course it is only for "flea eggs and larvae, ticks and chewing lice". If you need or want more protection from other things like worms etc, you'll have to pay more for another product! This product seems to be working as it should and my cats are fine since applying it a week ago.

I've used this product before and it works fine. However, in the last box I ordered on 2-9-2026 three of the six vials were EMPTY. I have two cats & thought I had applied the doses but there were no wet spots between their shoulder blades. I checked the 3rd vial of that set and it appears to be empty. You can hopefully see in the photo that there is liquid in the other set of three but not in the remaining vial from the first set. Photo of the box shows the numbers needed to trace the lot/product numbers at the manufacturer. Account says it's too late to return product and I'm sure getting a refund for half of a product is much too complicated. It's not worth the trouble.

This stuff works surprisingly fast I did not expect it to do and be as effective as it was for my kitten I rescued a kitten and didn't realize that she had a flea issue when I realized this overnighted it from Amazon and it was on my doorstep the very next day which I appreciated and it was it's just effective between that and pet MD I can't say enough about it like it within 24 hours she didn't have a flea on her and then I use pet MD on the carpets and furniture in case there were like eggs that fell off over or something cuz I don't know how that stuff works I'll just be an extra precautious but anyway this medicine on her work like a champ you do have to wait until they're like a pound and a half 2 lbs old before you use it but luckily fortunately that's how she was when I rescued her
