Good second litter box, easy to clean and keeps dogs out
We picked this up for a vacation since we needed a second litter box for our cat. We already had one in this style, so it made sense to stick with something familiar. This one is slightly smaller than our other one, but the cat didn’t seem to mind at all. One big advantage with this style—if you have a dog that likes to go “treat hunting” in the litter box, this design helps prevent that. It also feels easier to clean compared to a standard open box. Overall, worked out great for what we needed.

🏆 Less Litter on My Floor & More Space for My Cat
This litter box has been a great purchase. It’s spacious, feels sturdy, and does an excellent job keeping litter contained compared to open litter boxes. The top-entry design helps reduce tracking, which keeps the area around the box much cleaner. My kitten had no trouble adjusting to it and actually seems to enjoy using it. I fill it a little over 1/4 full with litter, which gives her plenty of room to dig and cover comfortably. The lid fits securely when closed but is easy to remove when it’s time to clean. It also comes with a scoop, although it’s on the smaller side. I ended up purchasing a larger scoop separately to make cleaning quicker. If you’re looking for a litter box that helps contain mess, is easy to maintain, and gives your cat plenty of space, this one is definitely worth considering. 🐱✨

The best kitty litter box ever
This has been so great! My dog stopped eating the cat crap! And it seems to mask the kitty litter well. It’s easy for my cat to get in and out. I was worried about it tipping. But I keep at least a big box of kitty litter at one time in it at all times, and I haven’t had any problems whatsoever. The only downfalls I hate how the urine sticks to the sides, but it comes right off and it’s hard to scoop out because of the round corners. But I’m not complaining because of that because this is an amazing kitty litter! Seriously, the best one I’ve had! I would definitely buy this again and it’s so durable is a perfect height. It holds a great amount of litter good bang for the buck.

Easy on the eyes, but not a fit for my cats
For ages I'd seen this litter box hyped up online, and when I finally was in the market for a new box I was more excited than I should've been to give this one a go. I do think this is a pretty nice litter box, especially considering most look like dull grey boxes that ought to be tucked in some corner never to be looked at by polite company, but it's not really as nice as I'd hoped it'd be. It does help a bit with litter scatter, but one of my little demons manages to jump in and out in such a way that he explode the litter against the lip as he jumps in and out anyways, and I find that the depth of the box makes it a bit more of a pain to clean than front-entry boxes. The scoop's holes are just a teensy bit too large for the litter I use, so the clumps fall right through. The clip that latches the lid onto the box also feels a bit flimsy, which makes me nervous about having to unclip and reclip it every single day, multiple times a day...that plastic has to fail at some point, and once it does the box is basically useless. The nail in the coffin is that my smaller female cat struggles to jump up to use it sometimes, which I feel too guilty about given that the main reason I opted for top-entry was to prevent litter scattering too much, and that hasn't quite panned out the way I'd hoped. A litter box that's pretty but not functional isn't worth it to me, so I'll probably be giving away/selling this box sometime soon, unfortunately. I love how it looks, and I really can't stress that enough. Pros: + pretty design, would look nice in most places/designs/aesthetics + compact + lid does actually trap litter + managed to fit my 13lb boy cat, so would likely work for small to medium sized cats Cons: - could be too tall for smaller cats to use comfortably - scooper holes are too large for thinner pellet style litter (such as Catit's pea husk litter) - locking clip is made of a flimsy plastic clip, which does not exactly inspire confidence. The lid is also not sold separately, so if the lid breaks that's basically another piece destined for the landfill... - top-entry doesn't guarantee that cats will use box as intended to prevent litter from scattering, as my cat has woefully demonstrated by jumping in and out like a bat out of hell If this box works for you, great! It just sucks to not really have an idea of if this would or wouldn't work for you until you've tried it. I've even previously used an Amerikat top entry litter box with my boy cat before moving house and switching boxes and had a very positive experience with it, so had high hopes for this Iris box.

GREAT litter box!
I HATE the smell of cat pee and poop. HATE it. It's the one and only reason we haven't gotten a cat for all these years. Then, along came our sweet little daughter, who begged to have a cat. What could we do? So I did a lot of research on different cat litter boxes and decided on this one, and it has been a winner! We adopted a 10 week old kitten who was used to feline pine and a regular kitty litter box. We started out with just a regular box and feline pine to get her used to her new house and new kitty litter location. What we noticed is the kitten, while she was tiny, likes to stand up straight while she pees, so it sprays backwards instead of straight down, which made it go over the side of the regular kitty litter box. This is not pleasant. After 2 weeks of using a regular kitty litter box which she was used to, I brought in this Iris box, put it in the same location as her old box, and put in her same litter. I also put in the litter dust from her old box when I cleaned it out, so the Iris box smelled like her scent right away. I did leave her old box in the room but right next to the Iris box for a night just to be sure she knew that this Iris box was for. It worked!! After a few times of setting her inside the Iris box, she began using it like a pro! We have not had one single cat mess in our home. PROS: This box is TALL. I was worried that the kitten wouldn't be able to climb in or out of it due to its size, but that has not been a problem at all. And, the size has been a HUGE plus because the kitten can stand, squat, do her business in whatever angle she prefers, and it's all contained inside the box without spraying out. Also, having a lid on it helps contain the smell. The lid also comes off very easily to clean (my 6 year old cleans it herself without help. This is easy you guys!), and has a lip on it to hang the side of the box while you're cleaning so you don't have to lay the dirty lid on the floor or anywhere else. The lid is sturdy for your animal to stand or sit on, and works well to clean off their feet when they jump out. The inside dimensions are also great, and I know this will give her plenty of space inside as she grows. Lastly, and this is a big one... the dogs and kids can't get to the cat poop. This keeps the kids from messing around with this, keeps water out of the box from rogue bathtub water when the kids get too rowdy in the tub, and keeps the dogs out of the cat's business. And, gives the kitten some privacy. No cat likes a dog sniffing their butt or a child trying to pick them up when they're trying to poop. CONS: The scoop that comes with this is pretty small, but scoops are easy to find and cheap. The rounded sides make it difficult to push the scoop against for leverage to scoop poop out. When we do this, the poop just smears all over the inside. When I clean out the box, I wipe out the entire inside with clorox wipes or wash it out, so it's no problem. But inbetween full weekly washes, it does get smeary. Litter accumulates on the top of the lid. I purchased a tiny little broom and dustpan and brush down the little crumbs daily. I'd much rather have them on the top area than spread all over my carpet. These pieces are easy to clean. This is a fabulous cat litter box. I would gladly purchase again and again! Also, the price on amazon is so much cheaper than buying any top entry cat litter box from a store, and the ones in stores aren't nearly as cute as this one!

Best cat box for 5 cats
I have 5 cats and I love this box. I’m about to purchase another one. Keeps the litter in the box. No mess. My only complaint is you really have to wash it out because the smell goes into the plastic. I wish they made a metal one.

Less litter on floor & easy view, but smells waft, no place to perch & top is hard to clip.
Overall, the QUALITY on this is very good, other than the SCOOPER which is a little too small & flimsy, with slots that are too big to contain small bits of poo (from regular sized cats). Also, it would be better if the corners on the scoop were more rounded to better reach into the rounded corners of the litter box. I use a garbage bag in my litter box and the corners of this scoop can tear it if I'm not careful. The litter box is very STURDY, especially the top. The holes in the top are large enough so that any litter that happens to splash out onto it will get sifted neatly back into the litter box (and not onto the floor) with a slight tilt of the box. Nice! My comments below have more to do with STYLE/ features, as I compare this litter box to a standard side-entry litter box: Pros: 1. Easier to see/ determine when it needs cleaning; no need to either remove the lid or "stand on your head" to peer into the side. You can do a quick "drive-by" look-see. 2. The lid is much FLATTER than a traditional domed lid, so it takes up very little space after you have removed it in order to clean the box. This is good if you are working in very tight quarters, like a bathroom or laundry room. Not a biggie for me, but it might be relevant to your situation. 3. Litter stays better CONTAINED when the cat is in the box trying to cover up their excrement -- I don't know about yours, but my cats have terrible aim! -- since there is no hole in the side of the box for the litter to exit. This is the one very important, good feature of this style box, imo. When they scratch around inside the box, I don't see any litter coming out the top AT ALL. Yaay! I'm finding much less litter on the floor; where I used to have to sweep daily, it's now weekly. Cons: 1. SCOOP is too small and flimsy with slots that are too large, as mentioned before. Scoops are cheap though so it's easy to get another one. From a germ and smell perspective, I can't imagine anyone wanting to hang the scoop on the side of the litter box either. I tried rigging up a way to hang it in a plastic bag but failed. 2. My 2 adult cats JUMP straight out of this box, with paws touching down only lightly at the edge, taking litter with them and straight onto the floor. Granted, it's not nearly as much as when they kicked it out from the side-entry box, but still, I was hoping for no litter on the floor. Maybe I'm just expecting a miracle...? 3. SMELLS seem to waft out the top a bit easier than from a side opening box. This may not be an issue if you have highly perfumed litter, but I found that I was smelling the "perfume" from it all day, which I didn't like, so I went back to clay. it seems like my choice is either to smell awful perfume or pee/ poo...? 4. This style box allows only a much smaller area for the cat to PERCH on, or to SET things on. The cats don't seem to want to perch on it as well, perhaps because they don't like to sit or climb around on the rather large holes, or maybe it's more smelly up there with the large opening so near? I thought of putting a towel up there but I was afraid it might accidentally get shifted and block the cats' entance to the litter box. Not worth the risk! 5. The top is very hard to CLIP and unclip to the box, which offers the advantage of being very secure if you need to carry the thing around, but it just about breaks my nails to get it off, which I find annoying. I hope all this helps! I know this box got great reviews but everybody's situation is different so I thought I would expand a bit on other reviews.

Buen tamaño, resistente y útil
Estos areneros nos gustan mucho , compramos dos. Son resistentes , las gatitas si los usaron desde el primer día , fáciles de limpiar , no arrojan tanta arena fuera , son grandes .

Me encantó!!!

Simple Plastic Top-Entry Litter Box
This is a simple yet effective product. I've found that after placing my cats in there once they immediately took to it, even though they hadn't used a top-entry litter box before. It also helped with stopping our dog from accessing the litter. My cats loved this litter box but I wish there was an option for reusable liners so I've deducted one star. I've been using bin liners from the supermarket without too much difficulty. You could use it without liners of course, but for better odour control I would recommend using them.

Sold me on the idea of top entry trays!
I previously used Omega Paw Roll N Clean Self Cleaning Litter Box, Regular , but over the years of buying them, the workmanship became shoddy and they always broke so I was in the market for something new when I saw this on a website and for the first time encountered the idea of a Top Entry litter box. I was immediately intrigued and a little nervous, but I snapped it up on sale to see if this new style would suit me. One of the things that drew me in immediately was the idea of the ease of cleaning. We wash the litter tray out totally weekly and cleaning in the nooks and crannies of an Omega Paw was a huge and stressful job. I thought this bucket-like design would be a cinch to clean and I'm happy to say I was right! It's so much easier to just tip out all the old litter from this design, straight into a bin bag and wash it out easily in the tub like this (followed by cleaning the bathtub of course!). This is a really simple design and that means it's lightweight and easy to keep clean. Not every cat will take to this style of tray and I was a little nervous. Ironically, my two cats who I was most concerned about immediately jumped in and loved it and the cat I wasn't worried about had me very stressed. None of my cats have ever gone outside the litter tray (with the exception of one instance when one ran a dangerously high fever and that's how I knew she was sick) and I was probably a bit overzealous trying to get my big boy to use it. I was terrified that he was too big for the tray (the tray is very roomy, but he is a huge boy and has weight problems to boot!), but it seemed like he was more nervous about jumping in than anything else. Well, turns out cats can hold it for around two days, so my advice is just to not worry so much. By the middle of the second day he finally gave in and used it (without the lid) and we are slowly working towards adding the lid to get him used to that, once he has some adjustment time. Here's my advice to those who want their cats to adjust. - Put this litter tray alongside your ordinary tray. Keep this one mostly clean and let the other get a little dirty, as cats love to dirty up a clean tray, since they want their scent on it. Keep an eye on your cat and see if they use it. - If they use it, all is well and you can get rid of the other litter tray. - If they don't, after a few days, put the other litter tray somewhere they can't get it and again observe. - At this stage, hopefully they will use the litter tray within two days. If they don't, you will have to try other things, or just give up on the idea. If they pee on the floor and not in here it could be just not meant for them and you will have to stick to the old tray/style. The only real negative with this tray is that you do have to scoop it more often than a style that rolls like the Omega Paw and if you have multiple cats there is less surface area compared to huge trays, so you might have to scoop more often. Due to the bucket style though, scooping is a lot more comfortable and you can easily lift it onto a shelf or surface to scoop (making sure to disinfect the surface after). There are lots of clever designs traits at work here, some that work amazingly well (Top entry design, hooks for litter scoop, ability to hang lid, easy to clean) and one that doesn't (the lid looks cool, but my cats jump over it and still leave litter on the floor. It is easy to brush the litter that lands on top back in though.) Overall it's a really, clever and well-designed tray that has definitely sold me on the idea of top entry trays!
