Just what I needed. The popcorn is good quality and easy to function and the pop rate is great and Not a lot of unpopped and no burnt popcorn as the heat level is great. But what even better is that this provides a cheap and healthy and low calorie nutritious snack in front of the tv.

I have just started making popcorn in the microwave and as my microwave is not that powerful as it is only 800 watts, it takes me about 5 to 10 mins to make any popcorn and I have tried different methods and some are slower than others and they all have a lot of unpopped kernels which even though they can be used again, is annoying. However, the popcorn I did make in the microwave did have a nice crunch to it even if some of it was a tad burned! But I wanted to compare it to popcorn made in a machine. On the downside, the popcorn in the popcorn maker is a tad less crunchy and so more chewy which is not such a bad thing but it may not be to everyone's liking but that can easily be overcome by drying it out a tad more in the microwave for a minute or two and then just give it time to cool off. However, I can't really fault the popcorn maker apart from having to be careful with the lid as it does come off very easily, but as long as you treat it with care, it works fine and instead of taking 5 to 10 mins to make the popcorn in my microwave, it only took about 3 mins to do a whole batch and it only left 4 unpopped kernels at the bottom which is a great improvement. I would suggest that you stand by it as with the final bits shoot out they can miss the bowl but that was only about 4 pieces that did that. So, on the whole, I would say that for the price it is a great bit of kit and intend to use it on a regular basis, but make sure that you leave it for at least 10 mins for it to cool down before you do another batch or it will over-heat and never put in more than a level cupful or 80 grams and the machine should last a long time. I have no idea how long it will last but hopefully it will last for more than a year. I would certainly recommend this product even though I was a tad unsure due to the mixed reviews, but from my personal experience, all that I can say is that it makes very good popcorn very quickly and it tastes great

The first machine failed and I returned it and got a refund. The supplier sent a new machine gratis for me to use. This new machine has worked well - producing excellent popcorn. The machine cannot be left unattended as sometimes the popcorn sticks in the machine and can overheat and needs turning off quickly, however most times it works very well. I have now got used to how the machine works. Service from the supplier was excellent.

I was initially happy with this popcorn maker. It made popcorn very quickly with no mess and left almost no unpopped kernels at all. Much faster than pan or microwave popcorn. Unfortunately after just 5 weeks despite being operated in perfect compliance with the instructions my unit has suffered an electrical fault and has failed. About 30 seconds into a batch of popcorn there was a pop noise and a bright electrical flash from the unit which tripped my kitchen circuit breaker. The unit released a foul burning smell and was lightly smoking. I can't recommend using this machine.

Love this! So handy for making popcorn without oil or butter quickly. They also provide a little booklet for flavoured popcorn ideas. Great purchase

This machine makes a big bowl of popcorn, enough for a family of 4 and it tastes great. I haven’t tried making a second batch straight after as we have enough but think you need to let the machine cool down a bit anyway. The machine is quite small which is great as I don’t have a lot of space in the kitchen and its retro design even makes it good enough to leave out on the counter! We use a bowl with high edges (like a mixing bowl) so haven’t had a problem with popcorn flying about when making it as I read in some reviews. We’ve used it about 5 times already and not one burnt kernel! Would recommend.

It's basically a hair dryer that heats up the kernels effectively to pop them in a couple of minutes. But the fact it does this without using any oil means you get a very dry, and pretty tasteless popcorn as a result. Perfect if that's what you're looking for and probably the healthiest way to eat popcorn. We tried a butter spray (fry light or something) to add a bit of flavour once popped and that worked a bit. But after a few tries we went back to microwave bags where there is so much more flavour.

I was ready to return when I took it out of the box because I thought it didn't look great, but the quality completely changed my mind. I had a cute vintage-looking VonShef for about four years, replacing a similar one that stopped working after three years. I decided to try a different brand because the VonShef model left SO MANY kernels unpopped and got popcorn flying all over the place as soon as they started to come out. This one, however, seems like a game-changer! It's great! It only left like 5 kernels unpopped (while left 1/3 of kernels). Also – not as close as messy! Yes, you get some popcorn out of the bowl towards the end of the process, but it's totally reasonable. With the other one, I had to cover it with a tea towel, which is not what we should be doing with these things. I use it everyday. Hopefully it will last a good while.
