Overall: Good solid construction. Would happily buy again. Pros: + Feels durable + Easy to assemble and use + Power Indicator is a nice touch + Very small and portable + Good value for money + Handy strap to loop through body of enclosure + Came with small screwdriver (very thoughtful) + Extra screws provided (1 of each) + Fast speed vs. form factor for the M.2 NVMe you decide to install (this is only the case/enclosure). Cons: - Thermal pad is provided and is a bit hard to apply as it looked like mine came somewhat precut in squares. I assume that is to help size the pad correctly. However, this means that you likely will end up with clean cut breaks in the thermal compound over the memory controller of your M.2 NVMe. For those who are more particular, you may want to opt to purchase your own thermal pad Considerations: * As others have mentioned, if you are writing files for a long period, you will need to let the device cool for a few minutes before resuming your writing/copying (I was cloning a 500Gb drive). This behavior happens for all M.2 SSDs of this size and is not related to this product. * Using an infrared thermometer, the peak temps I reached after intense file copying was ~60.5C and moderate copying reached ~44C. I found the aluminum body does cool quickly, however it’s important to avoid touching the body for too long. Overall, great product and will happily purchase again.

This thing is awesome. The only thing I would improve on is possibly better cooling, 'cause it runs really hot, which might trigger thermal throttling of performance. But that's to be expected with such a small enclosure. I honestly don't know how better cooling would be accomplished without sacrificing the compact size of this unit. I'd rather keep the throttle to stay at this size. It only gets super hot when doing larger data read/write operations. I have installed whole OS (Windows 11) booting on a Steam Deck and it runs great. Runs just as fast as the built-in SSD.

I’m not very experienced with tech setups, but this JEYI 2230 M.2 Enclosure was super easy to install and use! I bought it to encase my Kingston 1TB M.2 SSD, and it works great. It even comes with the tools to assemble it and some putty to secure the memory, which made the setup super convenient. I love the compact and modern design—it’s not bulky, heavy, or annoying to carry around. Works perfectly with my iPhone 15, and the fast data transfer is a big plus. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sleek, reliable enclosure!

TL;DR: This is a good enclosure but gets really hot and if you're moving a lot of data all the time rather than more typical uses, it might not be the best choice. Pros: - Compact and well built, feels solid - Easy to assemble - Includes thermal pads - Comes with the ubiquitous cheap Chinese screwdriver Cons: - Does not come with instructions, but it's also pretty simple. - Gets quite hot. I got this to back up SD cards with my laptop and under sustained loads of only around 30 MB/sec, the enclosure reached 133 F (56 C). This isn't hot enough to be dangerous to the equipment and there's still headroom, but be wary touching it after sustained data transfers. If you're pushing higher speeds for longer, it might be a bigger problem. I paired this with a 512 GB Sabrent NVMe drive.

This is a great little m.2 ssd case. The build is very sturdy being made of machined aluminum. Includes heat dissipating thermal pads and a screwdriver as well as a convenient lanyard to attach to the cap. The cap attaches via 2 small magnets. Two locator pins keep the cap from twisting. I'm not really sure why there is a lanyard except for to make it easier to keep track of the cap. The magnets are not strong enough to keep the cap attached if the lanyard were to be attached to a Keychain. But the magnets keep the cap attached if you put it in a drawer or possibly in your pocket. An improved design might include a latch of some sort to keep the two sections from detaching unintentionally.

This product is very well designed. The enclosure has a smooth finish and we designed a magnetic top. BUT, when using it with a SABRENT Rocket Q4 2230 NVMe 4.0 2TB the performance was poor. Trying to move 500MB in files the performance dived. This was done on a brand new MacBook Pro M3 Pro with 36GB of RAM and 2TB SSB. The transfer time started at 10 minutes. After a few minutes, the device heated up and the transfer time went to 2 hours. I then tested the same SSB in an ICY BOX enclosure to compare. The ICY BOX enclosure completed the transfers in 10 minutes. Therefore, the performance issue clearly lies in the JEYI 2230 Only M.2 Enclosure. I'll PASS on this one.

I'm gonna start with the good. It looks great, when it's working - it runs well. If you are smart about the thermals, its manageable for what you are paying. I would rec a solution other than the included thermal pad. I don't care so I used the same thermal grease that I'd use on my cpu, on the memory chip and called it a day. Very small and a great way to get a 2tb drive in a small package that is lightning fast (under the right conditions). The cons: I had to flash the firmware with a program for the actual readers specific chipset. You shouldn't have to do that for what you pay. The device works perfectly fine in manufacturing sense. The issue was that my phone, computers, etc would not detect any NVME that I tried in this regardless of how I formatted it, etc. Diskpart even wouldn't detect it. Issue was the devices firmware. Flashed it using a third party tool, with the latest firmware for this readers chipset. There was virtually no documentation on that regarding this product, but after it works great. Zero issues after that. If you are computer literate and care to tinker, yeah it works fine. For it to ship like this without a heads up or even just a printed slip of instructions is ridiculous though. If you are expecting to plug a NVME into this and it to work, I personally would look elsewhere. Otherwise this is a 5 star.

Had a spare 256GB SSD after replacing the drive in my Surface Pro 9 and was looking for something to do with it. Got this on a whim and couldn't be happier. Happy enough to get a 2TB drive to put in this instead of the smaller drive that I had as a spare. Now I have a nice small portable SSD that holds a ton a data that fits anywhere and takes up almost no space in my bag or pocket. As almost everything these days has a USB-C port I don't need any extra cables or adapters to keep with this enclosure. USB-C plug is very solid and not wiggle. Only downsides I have has with this unit is that it will get hot with large data transfers and the magnetic top could stand to have a bit stronger magnets as they put the loop on it and it will not hold together and you will end up with a top cover and no drive if you use it to attach to anything. DO NOT USE IT THIS WAY unless you augment the magnetic cover with something like a small rubber band. I do not run speed tests as that shows only ideal transfers and not real world use cases but I have seen write speeds exceeding 550 mbps on some file transfers from other SSDs.

Nice tiny little enclosure. Attach the loop as instructed and, along with the magnetic cap, you have a tidy and secure unit always at the ready.

Es muy bueno es realmente pequeño para transferencias grandes recomiendo ponerle algo fresco para evitar que se caliente demasiado, el conector usb c es un poco más largo de lo normal pero eso ayuda si lo vas a conectar a un celular o iOS con funda pues ya no tendrás que retirarla en general es genial y pequeño

Ho acquistato questa enclosure NVME 2230 per avere sempre con me 1TB di spazio e devo dire che sono rimasto estremamente soddisfatto. La qualità costruttiva è eccellente: il case è in alluminio, solido e ben rifinito, con un design super compatto che facilita il trasporto senza occupare spazio. L’installazione del NVME è stata semplicissima anche grazie al cacciavite incluso nella confezione e non ho avuto alcun problema: basta svitare le 2 vitine, inserire l’SSD, fissarlo e richiudere. Le prestazioni sono davvero ottime, con velocità di trasferimento elevate e stabili, ideali sia per backup veloci che per utilizzare l’SSD come disco esterno quotidiano come faccio io con il mio S25 Ultra. Devo dire che si scalda abbastanza durante i trasferimenti di file di grosse dimensioni, non tanto da scottarsi ma per fare il suo lavoro di dissipazione resta caldo per qualche minuto anche dopo aver finito. Un altro punto a favore è la compatibilità: ha funzionato subito sia su Windows che su Android, senza driver aggiuntivi. In sintesi, è un prodotto che offre ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, perfetto per chi vuole dare nuova vita a un SSD 2230 inutilizzato o creare un’unità esterna veloce e portatile. Consigliatissimo! Acquistato a giugno 2024 e pagato 26,67€
