I ordered this after a different type was defective and was not that great. This one is great. The pen light being a twist use is great, the best part being that there is a sweet spot. You can twist further to keep it off, which helps when in my pocket when not being used to write it check the neuros of one of my patients. The weight is great and makes the writing so smooth. My one request would be to have a rubber tip to the glass breaker. It is rather sharp! The pen is so good that I put it down for five minutes at work and it was taken. I am already contemplating spending the money to get another one.

Great product. If you are lookimg for something compact this is not the product. This is good to keep in bag or car to have if needed but not practical to carry on you.

I bought as a gift for my husband. It is well made and has a good weight to it.. it only came with 5 batteries, not 6. The light on the pen is bright , but you have to unscrew it to get it to get it to turn off and tighten it again to turn it back on. A clicker would have been better.

This was a gift for my husband for christmas. Seems like a nice item to add to a doomsday bag, lol. He hasnt actually used it but said he liked it.

I have purchased more than a handful of tactical pens but this style is my favorite. The flashlight lasts for a while and comes with backup batteries when needed. I'm a bartender and this is my second most used tool for my job. I sterilize the pen before each shift, but the glassbreaker is great for making puncture holes in tomato juice cans for bloody marys (faster than a can opener will work, too). Even recreationally, this pen has been useful for many different things. I will continue to buy these pens.

Awesome pen but I only received 3 batteries and 3 batteries

The best part of this pen is the pull off and push on cap, and the twist on and off light. Every other pen with a light I hav purchase has had the flashlight die after a couple,of days because the push button gets pressed inadvertently. I also disliked twisting the pen cap off on past pens. It seemed like I was twisting forever.

The pen is very versatile. It clips on to a shirt or belt, writes well, and has an awesome light. Its nice to have a refill and the magnesium with the map ruler and compass is a really cool add-on.
