I’ve been using the Neutrogena Clear & Defend Face Wash (200ml) from Neutrogena for a while now, and it’s been very effective for keeping my skin clear and balanced. It cleans deeply without making my face feel tight or overly dry, which is important for daily use. The formula is oil-free and lightweight, and it rinses off easily without leaving any residue. With regular use, I’ve noticed fewer breakouts and my skin looks calmer and less oily, especially around the T-zone. It’s gentle enough to use every day but still does a good job clearing dirt, oil, and impurities. A little goes a long way, and the 200ml bottle lasts quite a while. It also has a clean, fresh feel without being too harsh or heavily scented. Ordered the Neutrogena Clear and defend Facial wash! On delivery the item was sealed in plastic bag to avoid spillages through transport. On arrival I was impressed with size of product especially for the price! I have seen other online retailers selling this product for more money, so I had to try it when I saw the price! Iwas looking for a daily face wash throughout this covid 19 period as shops are a no go for me! -I was also happy to read on the back of the bottle that this face wash includes Salicylic acid. From previous experience I have enjoyed using other products for spots/acne with this ingredient. It works well for me! On first use I was impressed with smell of the product; It is a light sweet citrus scent, not over powering. I did notice one pump was enough for my whole face and décolletage area so I will be changing my subscription order to every 2-3 months as I know I will not use the whole bottle in one month! After my first use I can confirm that my skin did look smoother, cleaner and I did feel fresh and clean. However I do want to advise after around ten minutes of washing and drying off my face my spots, skin tone/ texture and redness were the same. I could not notice a difference. Another factor to highlight is my skin did feel very dry after use so be aware if you have dry/ acne prone skin maybe not the best product for you! Although I would recommend to use a toner & moisturiser after use as this may help the dryness. Also I was planning to use as a daily wash but I will not do this as my skin was dry after using. I also was using this as a filler item as I cannot normally use the shops/retailers I normally do in person. I may shop around after a while of using this or keep a bottle around for when I have a acne break out. The product is also in sell by date for 12 months so you can just buy a bottle and hide it for a ‘spotty day’. I would recommend this product if your skin can take dryness, probably best suited to very oily skin. Given 5 star because it did the job I needed through the covid situation so Thankyou! I’ve tried a few other sensitive skin washes for blemishes. I’ve found this one has worked the-best. It cleanses well, without drying skin out. It also has a pleasing non chemical scent. I feel it has noticeably reduced blemishes when I am using it regularly. This small bottle last a long while as it is fairly thick so you only need to pump a small amount on your palm. You get a good thick lather out of that. I have sensitive skin and have not had any bad reactions when using. My skin is soft after drying. I would recommend.

This is great for my sensitive skin and my skin feels healthier with less spot breakouts. My skin feels clean and not greasy but also doesn't feel too dry/ tight as with other brands. I was using an expensive brand before this and this is better suited to my skin. It's also been great for my teenage son who also has clearer skin since using it.

I’ve been using Neutrogena facial washes for about two years and have always been very happy with them. I’ve tried several products from their range and generally found them all effective and gentle. However, I recently noticed that the formula seems to have changed. I bought this version because I have slightly oily, occasionally spot-prone skin, but I found it to be extremely harsh. While it does a great job of cleansing and removing makeup, it leaves my skin feeling very dry and tight afterwards. In my opinion, it’s too strong for everyday use. I’ve since ordered another brand for daily cleansing and will probably only use this one once a week for a deeper clean

Reviewed May 2024: I've written this review after using this product for a couple of months, for me its working really well. I do not have (nor ever had) acne. I have oily skin and even at the age of 55 I get occasional spots especially in my scalp. When I was younger I used to scrub myself with soap to make my skin as oil free and dry as possible, which probably made things more oily in the longer term. Years ago, a friend who is (was) a beautician gave me some advice about skin care, including never to use soap on my face and a list of products I should use. Since then, my go to has been the Tea Tree range from the Bodyshop, and this has served me reasonably well. I was aware of products with Salicylic Acid as being helpful for oily skin, and when I saw this on special I decided to give it a try. I shower twice a day, and that means I wash my face and head (I'm balding on top) twice a day. I after a couple of days, I did notice my face and head felt a little 'dry', but I did not have any reactions. But after a week or so, my skin seemed to be less oily, and I was not getting any spots on my scalp, not a single one. I did have a couple of weeks away and I took my regular bottle of tea tree face wash (its in my travel kit), I can't say if I my skin was more or less oily (different environment, AC hotel rooms, different food, etc), but I did have a few spots appear. Back to the Neutrogena and cleared up, so for me it definitely seems to be working. I do have a few bottles of the tea tree left, and I will use it up, but my intention is that this Neutrogena will be my go to product for the future.

Watch out for some dryness after washing your face.

Quality is great, very clean face after using it and removes oil like crazy and gentle on the skin. Lovely scent and you only need a small amount to cover full face. Use it daily.
