MSR Alpine Deluxe Camping Cutting Board, One Size, Red

I recently purchased the MSR Alpine Deluxe Camping Cutting Board, and here’s my review based on my experience: Initial Impressions The MSR Alpine Deluxe Camping Cutting Board arrived in a compact, well-protected package. Cons: • The surface can get a little slippery with very wet ingredients, but that’s really only a minor issue. • The folding feature is convenient, but it might make the cutting surface feel a little less solid when chopping very hard items, like bones. Final Verdict Overall, I’m extremely happy with the MSR Alpine Deluxe Camping Cutting Board. It’s the perfect size for camping, easy to store, and performs well under outdoor conditions. Small, compact, robust, easy to clean. Folds in to 5.25" x 7.5". Is always a part of my camping/backpacking kitchen.

This is more for car camping I would say. A bit on the heavy side. Unfolds but doesn't really lay flat unfolded. Maybe over time it will. I'm considering cutting it in half down the hinge. Nice texture on the surface. Easy to clean. Def durable.

Used for camping and worked well. It is a little small but I guess when camping one should be a minimalist.

I use this cutting board along with my GSI buggaboo backpacker, and its really cool because it fits right on top of the pans and under the strap and doesn't stick out at all. It is about the size of a blue ray disc case, or PS3 game case and thinner than any smart phone. The fact that if folds is great for space and for the ability to fold to pour whatever your cutting directly into the pot. Hope this helps.

So I have used this about 6 different hikes now. Overall its small enough to fit nicely in my ruck..... but not quite big enough to prepare a meal on. Where it folds there is only plastic..... no hinge. Eventually I predict a separation into 2 smaller boards which I'm not excited about. Wish it was bigger with a better hinge so that the board lasts. Also, when folded open there is nothing keeping it open. So be careful when you use it. Set it on a level surface otherwise you will be wearing your meal. I could have bought a non-folding cutting board at the local dollar store and been more confident in its durability. Its nice that it folds, but with the MSR name you would expect a bit more in quality design! Minor Update: My Wife came up with using a medium binder clip (metal) to keep the board open. Works a tad better, but adds weight to my pack. However, the binder clip can be used for more things as well like holding the tarp to a cord etc. Still 3 stars I shouldn't have to "fix" their product.

Disappointing. Liked the idea of a folding board for camping but it doesn't lay flat when opened, so pretty useless for a cutting board

We loved having this folding cutting board when we went camping this summer. Very durable, attractive color, easily washes up. Perfect for our needs, yet hardly takes any room at all.
