This is a fantastic latch-hook kit! I was really impressed with the packaging, as all the yarn is divided by color. Everything comes in a handy transparent carrying case, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. And it comes with everything you need — including the latch hook. Each color is numbered, and there’s a code on the insert that identifies each color. There’s a surplus of each color, so there’s no fear of running out. The insert also details where each individual stitch goes, which is incredibly helpful, as it’s not always clear what color goes into which spot from the imprint on the canvas. There’s no guessing which color goes where! The canvas itself is very high quality. And the yarn is so very soft. There’s a good zipper on the back that makes it easy to open the backing to insert a 16”x16” pillow. The final product looks exactly like the photo. It’s ridiculously cute, and it’s hours of relaxing fun to make.

This pillow case was a lot of fun to complete and the end result was just like the picture! In certain spots the guide/chart was a little difficult to read. But, with a flashlight those issues were easily resolved. I loved the fact that the pattern was printed on the pillow case (used only as a reference). I think its easy enough for a beginner to complete. As long as you are ok with a large project to start out with. It took me about a month to complete. However, I didn't work on it every day. All in all, I loved this project!

5 stars on how easy it is as a beginner, this is my first ever latch hook kit. 5 stars on the amount of yarn you get, I got way more than enough! It also turned out so pretty, too. But... 1 star for how HORRIBLY the yarn and grid smelled! It smelled like straight fish! It was super intense at first, but I sprayed perfume on the grid and that helped a lot with the majority of the smell. The rest of it aired out over the days since I wasn't able to work on it for 2 weeks. Some of the yarn pieces were inconsistently sized, but it's nothing you can't work with, so I didn't mind it. Make sure to tighten your loops after fully hooking them, or else they will unloop on their own lol. Learned that the hard way. Super cute, would be a nice toilet rug, it's the perfect size for that. It has a non-slip backing, so it's not ideal for carpet, but I'm still gonna keep it in my room lol!

Latch hooking has been a hobby of mine for over 20 years. I have purchased many kits throughout the years and this one is my favorite brand by far. Many of the kits you buy at the store do not have a bound edge and causes them to become damaged while working on it. I have not experienced that problem at all with this one. I also like the fact that it has a zipper on the back which allows you to fill it and make it into a pillow. I purchased my own latch hooks because I did not like how small or thin the grip area of the hook that comes with this kit is, but the one it does come with will work just fine; this is just a personal preference for me. The negatives of this kit, which may really bother some people are that the colors on the canvas can be quite confusing. I just use the paper chart that is included. If you stick to using that, you will be just fine. I won't knock them in stars for the confusing colors on the canvas given that they provide a very easy to follow chart, a latch hook, bound edges, capability to fill it to create a pillow, and a really convenient case to store your materials in. Overall, this is by far the best kit I have purchased.

Did this in like 1 day. I love to latch hook. Childhood hobby. It was fun. The mesh is color coded which makes it way easier. All necessary pieces were there that say they come with it. I can remember if I had to buy my own hooker. Probably. But idk.

This is our third pillow kit from this company, and my mother LOVES them. We have bought a few others with our own money. My original review is from the earlier kits but still applies to this one. My mom didn't like the "funky colors" of the owls and changed them to brown with her own yarn to make them look "more like real owls". ORIGINAL REVIEW: My mother is obsessed with doing latch hooks and is CONSTANTLY making them. Since retiring, she spends at least $200/month on kits and canvas etc and is filling a closet up with completed rugs that she is going to donate to Rugs for Roswell. She liked the two kits that I got her from this company, aside from the hooks which are too thin for her arthritic hands to comfortably hold. She uses a big rounded handled hook. The image is printed on the canvas, but my mom does not go by the print as she prefers to follow the grid and count. The kit was done in less than a day because it is so small and there is not too much detail in it. It is a good size for making a cute little pillow or wall hanging. 4.5 stars, half a star off for the included hook being so narrow.

I used to do latch hook projects when I was younger and recently stumbled upon them again when searching out birthday gifts for my 9 year old daughter. When hers arrived I had forgotten how much I enjoyed doing these but she didn’t want me sharing her project :) I ordered this one for myself. It arrived quickly and was packaged very nicely. My only complaint is the pattern that is printed on the mat is very light and the greys, lavender and pink colors can get very hard to tell apart. There is a printed paper pattern but I’m not a huge fan of reading that while working on the project. The hook that is included is quite thin. In the future I’d opt to purchase my own hook to use for projects and something wider to hold on to. Only 1 package of each color appears to be labeled. The colors seem pretty easy to tell apart but kind of odd to me that they just don’t label each package as to what color it is. Otherwise this is an adorable pattern and I appreciate that there is already a backing sewn on so I can stuff it as a pillow when I’m done!

Kit comes with every thing you need (except pillow insert). Easy to do, canvas is stamped to show colors. I’d recommend following the chart included with the kit for the more detailed areas where the color changes (heart, leaves, eyes). Yarn sheds quite a bit, I tossed the finished piece in the dryer on air/no heat setting with a couple of dryer balls and that helped. Added bonus was keeping my hands occupied and off social media for hours, a much better use of my time!

Overall I'm happy with it. Good size. Adobe of the yarn is off cut but they sent enough extra that I could toss those. The only real room for improvement is the backing fabric, very ruff- burlap like material , kinda takes away from how fuzzy the front is. But for the price I'm happy with it.
