Nice garden tool
This came in very helpful when removing sod for flower beds in my yard. I still used a shovel, but I had to deal with a lot of tree roots when digging and this knife sliced through really thick roots like butter. It really helped trim the edges and made for nice-looking lines. It was a very helpful tool and I'm glad I got it. Mine came with a sheath. I know some reviews said it didn't, but mine did and that was really nice too.

Excellent Sod Knife
I recently redid my front yard and this knife was awesome, it cut very quickly and very well. Excellent product and great for long straight cuts of sod!

Super sharp, sturdy. Great sod cutter
Need to clear tough, St. Augustine sod away from sprinkler heads or birders? THIS is the tool fod the job. I had been using a sturdy, sharp Cutco knife, but this tool is much better. It's easier to grip, easier to maneuver and super sturdy. Plus the stainless steel clens up easy.

Excellent so far
I read a review from someone who bought this knife to use for edging his lawn (rather than the larger and heavier edging tools). That is exactly what I needed a tool for so I ordered it. It does indeed work great for edging the lawn, but even better it makes short work of Fall clean up (chopping back lilies, irises, etc.). Several reviews I read mentioned the lack of a sheath as an issue, so I was agreeably surprised to find a sturdy sheath included with the knife when it arrived. Obviously the manufacturer took note. I shall be interested to see how long the sharpness of the blade holds up but at this point I am very happy with the purchase

A little thinner than many sod knives but far out-performs any other knife I've used in cutting.
I've been using locally-available sod knives for decades. They're a required tool in my sprinkler / gardening tray. My other such knives are stouter and more impervious to being accidentally bent. But none are as sharp and as versatile as this knife. I just completed a multi-week complete reworking of two large and older decorative plant beds next to my house. The beds were all originally lined 7 years ago with a very heavy-duty, high-end landscape fabric. Eventually unwanted growth had managed to get through that fabric so the whole surface had to be removed for fresh start. While there were now weeds growing through and embedded in that fabric, there were still enough tough tensile plastic fabric fibers left that my other sod knives couldn't easily cut it. I also tried cutting the root-bound facric with a reciprocating saw with an pruning blade . This usually words great in cutting long runs of new sod. But the spent landscape fabric's plastic fibers just repeatedly snagged the recip blade and brought it to a halt. This knife easily cut those plasticized fibers, the root-infiltrated sod, and the sod where there wasn't such fibers. I've now bought my 3rd of these knives and always keep a spare since nothing that cuts like this is locally available. They don't seem to be full, all-the-way-through, high-grade stainless since a magnet will stick to them, but they've got a good enough stainless or stainless coating that I haven't had problems with them rusting when reasonably cared for. Highly recommended.

Addressed the Need Beyond Expectations
Came in handy when installing sod and remains handy as I’m grooming lawn. Helps with those pesky weeds, too. I had to repair some parts of grass and quickly removed dead spots and plugged with ease.

Not as Sturdy as Expected
Not as sturdy as I was expecting. Could be sharper too. Gets the job done though, but price to quality is high.

excellent product and really SHARP
It is very easy to use and the blade stays sharp after having cut more than 500/ft2 sod... However, please pay attentions to the safety and need to wear cut resistant gloves, I had cut my finger accidentally because i didn't use the gloves at first... of course, it wasn't the blade's fault.
