I recently got my hands on the Blue Tees Golf Player+ GPS Speaker with Touch Screen Display, and it’s quickly become a favorite on the course! This sleek, black, IPX7 waterproof device combines a high-quality Bluetooth speaker with advanced GPS functionality, making it a fantastic all-in-one tool for golfers who want precision and a bit of fun during their rounds. Setting up the Player+ was a breeze—pairing it with my phone via the Blue Tees Game App took just a few minutes, and it automatically recognized the course I was playing, thanks to its preloaded database of over 40,000 courses worldwide. However, mastering all the features, like navigating the touch screen menus and utilizing advanced analytics, does have a bit of a learning curve. It took me a couple of rounds to get comfortable with swiping through screens for hazard distances, drive tracking, and scorekeeping, but once I got the hang of it, the interface felt intuitive and responsive. The glass touchscreen is bright and clear, even in direct sunlight, which is a big plus.The GPS accuracy is impressive—I compared it to my rangefinder and GPS watch, and the Player+ was spot-on, providing precise front, center, and back yardages, as well as hazard distances. The audible distance callouts are a game-changer; with a tap of the action button, I could hear distances without taking my eyes off the course, which helped me stay focused on my shot selection. The dynamic hazard feature also gave me a clear picture of bunkers and water, making course management easier. Beyond its GPS capabilities, the sound quality is outstanding. The “Radical Deep Bass” and 360° audio deliver crisp, powerful sound that’s perfect for playing music without disturbing others on the course. The 10+ hour battery life easily lasted through two full rounds and then some, and I love that it doubles as a power bank with USB-C and USB-A ports to charge my phone. The magnetic strip is incredibly strong, securely attaching to the golf cart even on bumpy terrain, though I’ve heard rare cases of it slipping on extreme jolts, so I’m mindful of placement.My only slight gripe is the subscription for premium features like advanced analytics and hazard screens, which costs $49/year after the included one-year trial. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I wish more features were accessible without the extra cost. Still, for its price, the Player+ offers tremendous value, blending top-tier GPS functionality with premium audio. It’s durable, portable (about 3 pounds), and the IPX7 waterproofing gives me peace of mind in wet conditions—I even tested it after a brief dip in a puddle, and it worked perfectly. Overall, the Blue Tees Player+ is a must-have for golfers who want a reliable, feature-packed device that enhances both strategy and enjoyment on the course. Haven't been able to test the GPS functionality just yet, but the speaker sounds pretty good. The major issue is the Battery Level shown on the display. The promotional "review" video on their website and the downloadable PDF User Manual from the product's page (there is no physical copy of the User Manual included with the product, just a QR code telling you to download it instead) show screen captures displaying battery levels of 82% and 73%, respectively. Mine will only show 100% and 75% shortly after slight use. I spoke to their customer service who informed me that the device only displays battery levels of "100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10% or LOW" however, their own advertising and documentation clearly conflict with this. 12/8/23 Update: After speaking further with BlueTees' customer support, including a personal follow-up from Management, I've changed my rating to the full 5 stars. Not only has BlueTees explained that the conflicting information was not intentional, but they have literally gone and updated their user manual for the Player+ GPS speaker on the product page of their website. This includes new screenshots of the specific battery levels and an explanation of the exact functionality (see attached image). Most companies don't even reply to emails concerning issues with their products in any real way, but BlueTees has been very receptive of my feedback, and diligent in taking real, observable steps to rectify any issues. This is incredibly rare, and companies who care about maintaining their brand equity are the ones who usually succeed and keep customers coming back (brand loyalty is very tough to achieve these days). Also, after my initial full charge of my Player+ speaker, the battery level is still showing to be at least above 50% after a considerable amount of usage at home. Still haven't been able to get out onto the golf course to test the GPS, but the speaker itself has great sound and is quite convenient for use around the house (shower tunes, amirite?). The onboard display is a great feature--being able to change settings (including brightness level), see the name of the track/artist, view the time of day, pause, skip tracks, restart the song, etc., makes this product stand out among a growing sea of portable Bluetooth speakers. The iPhone app is also very useful in further managing the functionality of the speaker. This is the first product I've purchased from BlueTees, but will probably not be the last. Always good to have a rangefinder on you when your buddy takes the cart OB to find their ball in the sticks.

The advanced metrics available are going to be a big help in improving further my golf game the price in comparing to others that offer a similar device was a great value. I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday. He is an avid golfer and didn't have a range finder prior to this. He loves it, but sometimes the Bluetooth doesn't connect as it should, so it loses the range of where he is on the course. That frustrates him. He also wishes the volume buttons were located next to each other without the play/pause button in the middle. Otherwise, the sound quality is great from the speaker, and the functionality is great too.

I bought this for my husband. He took it on the golf course and said it was amazing. The magnet is strong and held even over bumps. The sound quality was great. The course reader, club suggestions and tracking tools are amazing!

Edit - 6 weeks after purchase: Please allow me to provide a bit of a review on the Blue Tees Player+ GPS Speaker. I wanted to let everyone know about my experience. The advertising I saw on this item, including on Amazon, does NOT mention that using the GPS function requires a paid subscription app. You can get a 30 day free trial, but the best value after that is a three year, $199.00 subscription. Interestingly, the thirty day free subscription puts you past the window to return the unit. I decided to dive in despite the cost of the subscription, and almost immediately had connectivity issues. I could play music from my phone through the speaker, but the GPS function would not display on the unit. I attempted multiple fixes on my own before I reported a problem through the app (I could still use the app as a GPS, like Grint, or other apps, but it would not display on the speaker). As I began working with Blue Tees' customer service, they led me through a series of fixes (most of which I had tried on my own). Some would work for a round or two, but I continued to have issues. Their CS rep was actually quite pleasant, but nothing was helping. Eventually, they announced that a Samsung / Android update was detected, and a patch was being developed. However, I have a Motorola phone, and whatever they did was not successful for me. Another week of back and forth, with no solution, and I decided it was time to give it up. The whole process also took me past the return window with Amazon. In hindsight, I wonder if that was intentional to string me out. I requested a return for refund, which Blue Tees denied, though they said I could send it back for exchange. With shipping and their inspection time estimated to be 5-7 days, I'd have been without a GPS for close to two weeks. But I agreed, and asked for a shipping label. They refused, and told me that the cost of shipping was my responsibility. I finally decided to discontinue working with them and eat the cost of my mistake purchasing this. I highly recommend that should you be looking for a GPS / Speaker, look to another brand than Blue Tees. Please advise if I need to make any adjustments before I post. Original review: Let me start with the only negative comment I have for this GPS speaker: I did not see anywhere in the description that to use this as a GPS, you must have an app running on your phone. Had I wanted to use my phone as a GPS, I already have two apps that do that. And of course, having an app open is a battery drain I did not account for. So, with that out of the way, this is a fine speaker, and an above average GPS. Twice in My first four rounds, I had a difference of over ten yards when compared to other player's GPS. With the watch GPS this replaced, I can't recall a difference of more than a yard or two. The display is fantastic, and us easy to read. I miss the "portability" of my watch GPS - If I grab a club and walk away from the cart to be ready to play my shot, I don't have the luxury of checking my wrist for a precise yardage. This was an aspect I had not considered when I purchased, but it isn't the unit's fault - it was designed to stay with the cart. I have not used any of the advanced features like tracking distances, although at least for now I am entering my hole by hole scores. It seems to me that using the additional features would take a bit of time per hole, and our group plays quite fast. I don't want electronics to slow the group down. But frankly, that could be simply an old man problem. The last thing to consider is that if you carry this in your bag, it's quite a bit of extra weight. Again, it's not a negative, but something a buyer should be aware of before purchase.

Subscription is 99 bucks for 3 years. So add that to the price still really nice sound and very accurate. Magnetic is strong. Must buy a screen protector. And other 50 bucks for 3. But if you’re spending that money. You want to protect it, in my opinion
