Three of them, one of her, and a remote cabin in the woods. Let the hot, winter nights ensue in this steamy dark romance from New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas, now with bon Review: Book review - This book is messy, intense, and not meant to be understood easily—but somehow, it feels right. And that’s what makes it unforgettable. I’m so happy for Kaleb. He deserved that ending. And I think a part of me is still somewhere in that cabin with him 🖤 IYKYK Review: Bellissimo! - Adoro questa edizione, meravigliosa!

Pretty good.
I ordered this book and began reading it, thinking it was gonna be really dark and questionable. But it only had like a moment or two that were a bit sus. The rest was very mild at best. I don't get why people try to cancel a writer just because of stuff like this. The writing in itself was very compelling and it kept me hooked. I will buy more titles from Penelope. And I hope she doesn't pay any mind to prejudiced reviews. Essentially, if you don't like it, don't consume it. Read the trigger warnings, inform yourself on what the book is about instead of throwing fists at the writer.

Quiet, possessive, dangerous… and impossible to ignore.
I was not ready for this new obsession. This book left me an absolute mess—but in the best way possible. This dark romance had everything: possessiveness, forced proximity, and why-choose. The story follows Tiernan, a 17-year-old girl who, after the death of her parents, has to move in with her step-uncle in the mountains. He has two sons, and let’s just say… this was the first time I was seriously thinking: why choose?! And before anyone gets weird about it—yes, she turns 18 in the story before anything happens. But there was one of them who completely had my attention… Kaleb. OMG. He is something else. He reminded me a little of Malachi Vize, but more mysterious because you never really know what he’s thinking. Quiet, possessive, dangerous… and impossible to ignore. I absolutely loved Penelope’s writing style in this book. You can really feel that she had fun writing it and didn’t hold back at all. The shared trauma between the characters added that cherry on top of the cake… No—not that cherry. iykyk. I even cried for these characters!! The only thing that disturbed me a little was one particular scene. I just personally can’t imagine something like that happening, and I’m usually not an age-gap girlie. Luckily, the stepdad had two sons, so… problem solved? 😂 Still, that didn’t stop me from wanting to read every single sentence. I completely devoured this book.
