Zoom MS-50G+ MultiStomp Guitar Effects Pedal with 100+ Effects & Stereo Out

Im using this to run synths and drum machines through mainly, but I connected it to a kalimba with pickups in it and it sounds incredible, ha Mono in, stereo out is helpful for my situation, but I may pick-up the stereo input version later This is my first multi effects pedal and it kinda gave me "option paralysis" a little bit, there's so many effects it can be overwhelming, at first. Once you play around with them for a while you start to understand what you're looking for and how to achieve it. The iOs app is pretty cool, I like that it gives a description of each effect and let's you load as many effects onto the pedal as the memory will hold. Really really cool pedal.

The Zoom MS50G+ is a great value at an impressive price point. I tried five different pedals (up to $150) and nothing else came close. Most of the effects in the pedal are very usable (distortions, delays, modulation, reverbs) and have decent parameter control. The preamp drive modeling is very good too depending on your needs. I use it when playing online (Jamulus, etc. ) and don’t have the benefit of my actual tube amp’s preamp tone. It can also be used as another overdrive/distortion stage. The four added foot switches are useful once you get the hang of it, but I have been using it live with a smartphone/tablet connected and find it easier to control the pedal in this hybrid mode. With up to six effects in a patch, I can use both the main footswitch and my tablet to quickly adjust what I need between songs. The layout of the effects in a color-coded grid makes it easy to create patches and swap effects in and out intuitively, even directly with the pedal . Nice job on this pedal Zoom!

Sounds good into my amp, but wish it had cabinet modeling so I could play with headphones sometimes. It’s a little noisier than my other pedals, necessitating that I pretty much always have to use the built in noise gate, which eats up one of the six effects blocks. Not a big deal. Other than that, it’s pretty awesome.

This pedal is an example of useful guitar equipment that is moving in the right direction. Using the pedal is intuitive and easy to operate. The 9 switches and knobs enable easy use when using your fingers. Trying to use the foot only to operate the pedal might prove frustrating. I have it sitting on the table where I can look at the screen while changing settings and adjusting parameters. Adjusting the parameters with the knobs is direct and easy. The knobs adjust the parameters and the parameters are sensitive, giving a wide range of adjustability. This means that it is possible for a player to form the sound very interestingly. Many super great sounds can be formed thru quick and easy adjustments of the parameter knobs. It is easy to make new patches quickly. Navigating the patch memories is straight forward, as is recalling and changing patches. Self made patches sound great. The price is about $ and for this small investment the player can expect to get high quality dividends. This is a very good small guitar multi pedal that contains many useful and high quality good sounding effects, preamps, and other opyions. This pedal can be powered with just 1 usbc cable and a usb wall block charger. No need for the batteries or 9volt plug in power adapter. Nevertheless, this pedal uses 2 AA batteries and it has a 9 volt port for being powered with a normal guitar pedal power supply. It connects via usbc cable to the ipad and iphone. It uses its own app.

I still like Zoom but some of their nuts aren't torqued down good enough to stay and let you tighten them down more yourself on the inputs it's kind of bad they got I got to start checking that

I'm surprised more guitar players aren't talking about this fun pedal. I think the old one got sorta dumped on unfairly - but it did find a home with the soundscape creatives. For the price, this thing is packed with good sounds. There are good distortions, reverbs, delays, etc... Maybe 1 or 2 sounds out of each section is ultra premium - but wow, that's a good deal. It's not your only tool, but if it has to be for a time - it has you covered. Have fun - don't listen to the guitar snobs.

Disappointing. And I'm a big Zoom MS fan. I have the CDR70+ and 200D+ and absolutely love them both. I thought I might've been missing something by not having the 50G, but ... I wasn't. That said, if you only want to buy one MS pedal and don't plan on buying any of the others (Ever), this one is probably OK since it has a little of everything: comps, drives, filters, pre-amps, delay, 'verb, modulation. But in the effort to become a jack of all trades with this pedal, they've mastered none. WHY STEREO? One of the first things I questioned is why is this even a stereo pedal? Of the effects it does have, I could only find 3-4 that were stereo: a stereo chorus, a ping-pong delay and ... maybe another chorus? It makes no sense. I guess they wanted to make it look like it was a true stereo pedal, but it's almost all mono. I guess the evidence of that is that they didn't even bother to give you stereo inputs, so if you want to use the compressors, they will have to be post-gain if you do want to use it in stereo, unless this is the only pedal you have. LIKE BRITISH MUSIC? I SURELY HOPE SO First off, I do like British classic rock. Love it, but it's not the only thing I listen to. But judging by the effects in this pedal, it's only targeted toward a British audience. I kid you not, of the maybe 80 patches, at least 20-30 of them are labeled as "British." Almost all of the patches are named after songs, or at least hinted at, and even when there is a nod to an obvious non-British act or genre, it will either say nothing -- like "Basket Case" where it's is just labeled as pop-punk or with the patch "Walk this Way (1975)" which is labeled as, you guessed it: "British Rock." Since when was Aerosmith British? I'm guessing whoever wrote these descriptions was British, but it's very confusing and makes no sense. QUALITY IS OK As far as the sound effects go themselves, they are good, as you would expect from Zoom. The best ones are some of the overdrive and distortions as well as the auto-wah and stereo chorus. However, the reverbs are immensely disappointing. I guess they didn't want to take sales away from the 70CDR+ by including too many, but now you're only left with two room, two hall and an early reflections/air reverb. That's it. And even with the decay and mix maxed out on the hall reverbs, they're still quite low in the mix. The other issue I have is not with the actual effects themselves, but the patches. I don't know why it's so difficult to normalize the volume level from one patch to another, but this is another area where the pedal is a letdown. The first thing I did when I got this pedal was go through each patch and try to even out the level from one to another ... but should I have to do that? HOPE YOU LIKE KNOBS (and iOS)! No PC app; no Android app. So, if you're in the majority of people who do not possess an iPhone, but would like to be able to interact with this pedal via a computer, you're SOL. It's rare when you see a developer create an app for only one platform and ignore everything else, but it's especially rare (and insanely frustrating) when that developer creates an app only for the platform with a paltry piece of the market. Around 75% of smartphones are Android-based and about 25% being iOS. It makes you question your sanity why they chose to only give users an iOS version. I remember when this first came out and people were saying, "Just give it time, they'll give us a PC/Android app." That was years ago. Since then ... No Android app, no Windows app, and no firmware updates in over a year and a half. TERRIBLE VALUE Zoom. The pedal isn't terrible, but for over $100, you are almost ripping people off here. Anyone who compares this with either the 200 or 70 will undoubtedly feel very disappointed in the least and ripped off at the most. If you didn't want to cannibalize sales from those other two pedals, you should not have even made this pedal. Instead, this just reeks of a way to make a few extra bucks. Drop the price. It won't help me since I've already paid for it, but the 200D+ at $69 -- even though it only has compressors, noise gates, boosts, ODs, distortions, fuzzes and preamps -- is leaps and bounds above this pedal in terms of value. IN CONCLUSION I hate to leave a bad review for a company I like, but I've had to do it a few times lately because I've come across some less-than-stellar products from companies I like (See my Mooer Meta FX review if you're curious about that as well). But I have to be honest, and if you were able to make it through my entire review (congratulations if you did!), how could I rate this as anything other than less than average (2 stars)? 3 stars would be better than average, and just going by that, I can't in good conscience do that. Sorry, Zoom; you can't win 'em all.

It's a very good pedal. I should have purchased it a long time ago. The presets are great and the effects are great also. Job we'll done zoom.

Este pedal puede reemplazar a muchos efectos en una pedalera. Son 100 efectos configurables aunque algunos están de relleno…pero es una buena opción si quieres simplificar tu equipo.

Buen pedal , buen sonido , la cadena de efectos de hasta 5 muy bien , incluso para armar tu pedalboard es bueno , buenos efectos , amplis y cabs , solo la app es para la empresa de la manzana , espero se haga una para android por qué con la app puedes sacarle más jugó a todo lo que tiene ...

I wanted to replace a bunch of pedals with one: - delay - reverb - tuner - modulation - freeze It does a good job of these, the freeze function isn't great. The sound isn't top of the line, but is fine for gigging in noisy bars. I've set it up with different patches for each song and can scroll through the patches and engage/disengage different effects in the patches with my feet. Overall this thing is a steal. It won't replace your high end large form factor unit, but it can drastically reduce the size of your pedal board when space is at a premium.

Surprisingly good pedal! And very easy to use. It’s particularly good for practice at home and for someone learning to play it has everything they could really want built in. Sounds are very good but obviously not at the highest level compared to the really high end modellers or boutique stand alone pedals. I think it would sound perfectly good live but the controls would probably be a bit fiddly if you needed multiple effects during one song. As a stump box it should be fine though to just switch between two sounds.

Great little multistomp box. The effects are plenty enough for my needs. Sound quality is excellent, User friendly and easy to program, I wish in the future there will be an update on the firmware for turns down the brightness level, for home use a little too bright for me. I think for live on stage is perfect brightness. Good work Zoom!!! Great product!
