Perlegear Full Motion TV Wall Mount for 45–95 inch TVs up to 150 lbs

Fácil de armar, ninguna queja. No parece afectarle el peso de una televisión tan grande (aunque confirmé que esté por debajo del peso máximo que el fabricante recomienda).

Purchased to mount my 78-pound 85" TV. I needed to mount my new TV above a console cabinet in order to accommodate a receiver and sound system. This demanded a full motion mount in order to allow for tilt, ease of cable access and cleaning. Further, I needed to mount to reposition the TV to accommodate multiple viewing angles depending on the number of guests in my man cave. I've used various brand mounts over the years in different applications and found that the actual weight capacity and mounting plate size and the main things to look for. This Perlegear offered the specification I required. This model provides a 24" mounting plate which allows for more flexibility in positioning and securing to studs. The paper template is useful primarily for getting the measurements of height above the cabinet (and AV equipment). The included mounting hardware included all that was necessary for mounting the TV to the mount and the mount to the wall - no additional trips to the hardware store required! The mounting plate/motion arm assembly is quite heavy and somewhat difficult to mount when working off a ladder and while the included level is a nice touch it is totally inadequate for overall leveling. Use a proper level especially for a larger TV. I found the tilt function good enough to meet my needs - refer to the instruction manual as to how to make this adjustment and note that the more tilt you require the further the TV must be extended off the wall. The extension and retraction mechanism is rather stiff making repositioning a bit awkward for one person. Also, I'm not inclined to fully extend the TV off the wall because of the stress that would put on the wall mount. While it is rated for 150 pounds, mounts are a lot less expensive than an 85" TV! One star off because of the stiff motion and weight of the mounting plate. But, the TV is up and still hanging. BTW, get a quality stud finder. My walls are heavily textured, and my stud finder wasn't the best for this application. Several pilot holes were drilled into false indications. Spackle is your friend.

This was a great purchase. The product had everything in the box for a successful installation. I needed a reliable TV mount because my wooden studs are wider spaced (approx 22”) . I made the mistake of purchasing a TV mount that was only for up to 18” spaced studs and of course it didn’t work out for me. This mount does everything I wanted, telescoping, swiveling and securely mounted. My son handed the installation but he needed another set of hands at times because it was heavy holding against the wall until it could be secured.

This tv wall mount did the job. It is very heavy duty from what I can tell and was easy to install by myself.

It’s a very sturdy mount and supports my 75” TV well. Where I take issue with it is the design of the straps that secure the TV frame to the articulating mount. The frame hooks support the TV on the top bar of the mount, and then two clamps swing into place around the bottom bar and are secured with screws. The problem is that the TV and mount need to be fully compressed against the wall to center the TV properly. Otherwise, the position of the articulating arm can throw off the measurement. But to reach the two screws and tighten the clamps, you have to pull the TV away from the wall. It took me five tries to do this without the TV shifting anywhere from 1/2” to 2” on the mount, which meant pushing it back against the wall and starting over. I eventually managed it by leaving the clamp screws only slightly loose and tapping the side of the TV to adjust its position. Just what I want to do - repeatedly tap the frame of a $3,000 TV! 😖 So yes, when all is said and done, it does the job, but it was far too fussy. Other mounts I’ve installed allowed you to lock the TV safely into place from the side or bottom rather than from the back. If I were doing this install again, I’d choose a different brand mount and not have to go through this. P.S. You also can’t fully tighten the clamps as you might expect, because they don’t conform well to the shape of the lower bar. If you tighten them too much, they push the support hooks up and away from the top bar. The upper hooks are what carry the weight of the TV!
