The windows in my apartment are crummy… they can be pushed off the sliding track just by engaging the latch that’s supposed to lock them. I’m a woman living alone on the first floor and my apartment complex has some sketchy folks around so I’ve been really nervous about someone forcing their way in through one of my windows ever since I moved in last month.I had no idea how unsettled that was making me feel until I put these locks on them and this huge weight lifted off of me. They are super easy to use, virtually unnoticeable and my windows won’t budge at all now no matter how hard you try to force them. I can finally relax in my own home!

Each lock comes with a key to place in the room of use (in case of emergency that requires the use of Windows full access).Just after we purchased these for our daughter's new home, (with windows within reach of her toddlers), we watched the unfortunate news report of an injured child who fell from an upper story window in there home.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I'm very happy with this product! Great communication with the seller, quality product, fair price, and fast shipping. I bought these for hotel windows because the guests have broken the plastic ones that were used previously. These are made to last and will not break or be removed easily. I highly recommend.

The first question you should ask yourself when you buy this is why are you securing your window. Is it to keep someone from inside from opening the window to go out, is it keep someone from outside opening the window to come in, or both? Honestly it works for either.If the use case is the former, it would have been better to not use a hex socket screw as it's very easy to find the right tool to turn these in a standard bit driver set. A security screw (or tamper proof fastener) would have been better but probably added cost.I do like the hex nut option when you install it backwards, but it doesn't fit that way on all my windows. None the less I'm happy with the purchase and will buy more to finish installation on the windows.Note that not being able to open a window could be considered a fire safety issue, so plan accordingly.

Does what it says. I didn’t measure mine honestly but was luck y. I need five more sets which I will be ordering from the same place I recently purchased from.
