Built this as my first model after 50 years and found it was nicely detailed and fitted well. Lots of panel detail, it came out good and was enjoyable.

Airfix has come a long way in the quality of their kits since I made them 35 years ago. This model (kit number- A01008B) was my first proper attempt after getting one the starter sets with paints included a few moths ago and decided I wanted to start making them again. The instructions are easy to follow and was quite simple to make. I think I rushed it a bit but with more experience I'll take more time and get better quality. I forgot how small 1:72 scale is, this model easily fits within my hand, maybe just my hands have grown since being a young lad because nothing else seems to have. I didn't know when I picked this kit to make that there's an interesting story to the actual plane this model is made to look like with the paint scheme. There's photos of it on the internet and just so happened to be a photo of it outside the city hall in my home town and a story about the pilot and the painted out swastika on the tail, quite interesting I thought. I think the paint scheme is too difficult for a beginner so I had to change it to a pattern I could manage. The paint scheme requires you to do a 'mottled' effect but I'm not at that skill level yet. This kit only has 1 paint scheme when they mostly come with 2 so that's why I only gave 4 stars. I did like the quality of the kit and already have purchased another Airfix kit. I think the kit is well worth it for under £10 .

Great kit good mouldings and decals for two options. Builds into a nice looking plane.

Good simple model

Messerschmitt bf110e trop. Had to do a lot of fiddly work with this, but its all part of the fun i guess. especially look to tail fin fitting, bit of gentle sanding required to get a good fit, fuselage fit to cockpit seats panel was a poor which needed trimming,, and a touch of filler here and there, but once done looked great. all in all a nice model but have your "fiddling about kit" to hand:-)
