A true review
I’ve been using the Canon MegaTank MAXIFY GX2020 for a few months now, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it performs across the board. Setup was straightforward it walked me through each step right on the touchscreen, and within minutes, I had it connected to Wi-Fi and ready to print from my laptop and phone. The build quality feels solid, and the compact design fits nicely on my desk without taking up too much space. The print quality is excellent crisp text, deep blacks, and vibrant colors, whether I’m printing business documents, marketing materials, or the occasional photo. The speed is surprisingly fast for an inkjet, and it handles double-sided printing automatically, which saves both time and paper. What really makes this printer stand out is the MegaTank system. The refillable ink tanks are a game-changer. Instead of constantly buying expensive cartridges, I just top off the tanks when needed and after hundreds of pages, I’ve barely made a dent in the ink levels. It’s economical, eco-friendly, and ideal for anyone who prints frequently. The scanner and copier functions are equally smooth. The automatic document feeder is convenient for multi-page scans, and the quality remains sharp. I’ve used the Canon PRINT app for remote printing, and it’s intuitive I can print straight from my phone, even when I’m not home. Overall, this printer delivers professional-grade performance for both home and small office use. Between the low cost per page, impressive quality, and reliable wireless features, the Canon MAXIFY GX2020 easily earns a solid five stars from me. It’s one of those devices that just works efficiently, quietly, and consistently every time. Highly recommended for anyone tired of overpriced cartridges or unreliable printers.

Very nice printer, easy set up
This printer was very easy to set up. Filling the ink tanks was simple and fool-proof since the bottles will only fit into the tank for the appropriate color. Wifi setup was straight forward and quick. The printer is very quiet and much faster than my previous printer. I highly recommend for home printer use.

GX2020 - Good design features and perfect for a home / office / home office.
Installation was easy and the product features are on point. Fax: I don't use this feature. Printing: The printer was easy to setup and only took a few minutes to get installed and running after unpacking. I absolutely love the ink tanks in the printer. There are no cartridges to buy. There are very affordable refill containers that you use to fill the tanks within the printer. Yeah... so much better. The printer was fast and quiet. The quality is good and I am very pleased. Scanning: There a re a couple of features I really appreciate. I can scan directly to with my email or to one of many cloud services. There is a template creator where I can create multiple custom scan destinations. So nice to choose where I want it to go and eliminate extra steps. The document feeder and scanning is relatively fast. it The only CON I have is the app used to manage the printer is slow to load. I have a 1GB fiber internet connection and although tolerable... it is a place for improvement. The app is not needed for regular printing, but for scanning and faxing.

Great Value, Reliable Performance, and Zero Cartridge Hassle
The Canon MegaTank MAXIFY GX2020 has been a fantastic addition to my home setup. Print quality is excellent across the board—documents are crisp, photos look surprisingly good for an office‑focused machine, and scanning is clean and accurate. What really sets this printer apart is the MegaTank system. The refillable tanks make ink costs dramatically lower than traditional cartridges, and it’s great knowing I won’t be constantly buying replacements. Setup was straightforward, and I’ve had zero issues with connectivity. Mine is hard‑wired to the router, and both my phone and laptop print over Wi‑Fi without any hiccups. Paper handling has also been flawless so far—no jams, no misfeeds, just smooth operation. For anyone looking for a dependable all‑in‑one that delivers quality output and saves money on ink, the GX2020 is an excellent choice. It’s compact, efficient, and a genuinely good value.

I don't recommend this printer
I cannot express how much I do not like this printer. And note that, the only reason why it gets one ⭐ instead of none is because #1, we can't and #2 it does print black and white documents well and at a decent pace. I did research on photo printers and this one came up time and time again as a good quailty printer. For plain documents with no images, sure. But for it to boast that it does great photo printing, it absolutely does not. This printer is a terrible photo or image printer. And yes, I checked the types of paper that are compatible with it. Let me tell you why I dislike it so much... -Images are blurry and dull. (I tried the Canon print app, the Canon create app, just plain printing from the open photo, and from Publisher. The last was the best, but still not great.) - EVERY SINGLE TIME you load the paper, you have to select the paper size. For 8 1/2 X 11, standard size paper, you just have to click that setting each and every time. But outside of that, different names for the sizes without explanation are a hassle to figure out, and then when you're printing you have to select the size that you put in the paper tray. It doesn't seem complicated , extra yes, but complicated you wouldn't think so... until for instance you put 5x7 envelope paper in the tray and you choose the setting envelope (not D10), and then when you try to print on said envelope it won't print. Why?! why!? If the printer thinks that what you're printing isn't the same as what you put in the tray based on the settings, it won't print. So even though I put the envelopes in the tray, and I set it to envelopes, and then I tried to print envelopes, they still wouldn't print regardless of what app I used. I had this with several things I tried to print that we're not envelopes, and for the record, there are only two envelope settings. I tried printing on eight and a half by 11 cardstock and it wouldn't print because I didn't select the right option (but note, weight options aren't clear or specified), but heavyweight paper and cardstock weren't options on the printer so I couldn't get them to print and you can't choose plain paper for everything because that won't print either. You can't use plain paper and try to print photos because that won't print! It makes no sense! -Most of the paper settings aren't American standard, several of them are Japanese specific paper settings and sizes, that even though I looked them up, I still couldn't figure out how to make the printer print. I tried the Canon FAQs and help site, and it was not as helpful as they thought it would be. There were a few okay features: - The starter ink is a lot. More than an entire fill for each color. -It does print regular B&W documents well and pretty quickly. -After you connect the first device for wireless printing, it's really easy to connect other devices. Those were worth the 1 star. I would never recommend this printer to anyone. I don't even want to keep it myself. Even though I got a deal, it's not a deal if it doesn't do what you need it to.

Very nice printer
Easy setup, does very nice pictures, not very much colored ink, but at least it's better than a tiny cartridge. Canon colored inks have changed over the years where they yield less and less pictures per cartridge. At one time I bought a very expensive Canon printer and I printed 170 picture on one set of cartridges. Today's cartridges you cannot do that. Everytime I buy a new printer, I get less and less pictures. This new printer will help get more pictures without buying loads of cartridges. The operation of the printer is pretty much straight forward with no surprises or gotchas . I've had no paper jams. The paper tray adjustments are very stiff and difficult to slide back and forth. Kinda frustrating at times. Installing the printer heads was easy. But, opening up the top cover was difficult. No instructions on how to open the print head carrier. You have to wing it and hopefully you don't break something. The print heads are 100 percent replaceable if they go bad . Going on past use of Canon printers. You need to use Canon photo paper for the best results. Using other brands of photo paper the colors might look off. Warning for anyone who buys this printer. The black ink tank doesn't last very long. Canon designed this with relatively small ink tanks.

Highly recommended Canon Maxify GX2020
I have done a lot of research on ink tank printers and landed on the Canon Maxify GX2020. I was so tired of replacing my HP cartridges that never seemed to last. Also HP doesn’t allow off brand cartridges to be used so goodbye HP. After using for several weeks, I couldn’t be more happier with my purchase. The set up was extremely easy on my Mac computers. Once I downloaded the app on my iPhone, that was also a seamless process to hook up. Printing from my computer or from my iPhone phone via WiFi is extremely efficient. The tray holds over 250 sheets of paper, and you can print scan and fax from the computer. I’ve been printing for several weeks and haven’t even noticed the ink level go down. The printer is quiet and is much faster than most ancient printers. I have not had a single paper jam and not have any problems since I started using it. The printer and color quality seems very good. I would highly recommend this printer as a reasonable priced ink tank printer.

Wake up, hey its time to print!
So, I had to get a new printer when I got a new computer. Apparently canon stopped supporting my old printer and with the new computer it no longer would scan. In my business I scan all documents for backup and easy access. The old printer was amazing. The new one, not as much. My main complaint is that it acts like a petulant teenager. I tell it to print and most of the time it doesn't wake up from sleep mode. "just five more minutes...". So I turn it on manually, still won't print. Then I have to cycle it off and on again then it prints. I have not found a way to just leave it turned on and NOT go into sleep mode. I found that you can program times for it to be on and off, but not out of sleep mode, nor how to adjust the time before it drops into sleep mode. Its extremely aggravating when your trying to print something out for a client but the printer doesn't cooperate causing delays for them. It does do an amazing job of printing and scanning and it has saved me tons of money in comparison with the old printer and this it tank and not cartridge. My old printer had 6 cartridges and they were 25 dollars each, and very small and were replaced fairly frequently. the printer has paid for itself already in savings. There is a window to see when paper gets low but it is not practical for use as you have to get on level as the paper sits about 2 inches back from the window. There is a window for ink levels but in anything but the brightest light conditions it is hard to see the black in level agains the "black" plastic background, the other colors no issue.
