Do these make marks on the vinyl plank flooring ?

Nope. They only leave little peace signs in soft surfaces. They do grip well on vinyl and tile even wet. I'm happy with it on my walking stick which goes every where with me. You won't be disappointed.

So these don't have gel in the tips, or??..

Don't think so. Feels solid to me.

How much do these add to the length of the cane?

One inch. The cane fits down into the cane tip as far as the indented ridge (noted in the photo of the cane tip). The lower inch of the tip is solid rubber.

1" and 3/4" are not at all the same diameter, so how are these designed to fit that range?
