If I'm going on a 5 to 10-day green smoothie fast, the book I follow talks about taking something to help have regular bowel movements. Thus I would take aloe pills, which are better than many of non-natural laxatives but can be slightly a little too much. What I mean by that is once I start to have a movement, it may be several over the next hour or two. Thus I need to plan to be near a restroom for that duration. + I followed the instructions on the bag to brew this: 4oz of boiling water steeped for 15-20minutes. Afterward, the tea is not bitter at all, like most herbals. + The nice strawberry flavor really helps make it enjoyable. + About 6-8hrs later (I take it in the morning so I can drink more liquids after, which the bag recommends drinking) I'll have an easy movement one time and then we are good. No hanging around for a couple of hours in case I get hit again and need to go. Just gentle, easy does it, one time. OVERALL: This tastes good. It works awesome for me. Every person's body is different and may react differently, so you may or may not have the same success I had with this.

I got this not knowing it was a laxative until it arrived. I wouldn't call it a laxative though because it didn't have that effect on me. I heated the water up in my keurig and let the tea sit for about 5 or 6 minutes the first time. Drank it before bed. The taste was good with a light fruity flavor. No stomach discomfort. I did go to the bathroom in the morning, about 45 minutes after waking up. My 2nd cup was 2 days later, steeped for 16 minutes, and drank before bed. The taste was a little stronger, and was still good. No stomach discomfort. I enjoyed it and would drink just for the taste. The tea smelled nice too.

I've been drinking Smooth Move tea as colon cleanse for a few years now, so when I saw this strawberry herbal tea that is meant for the same purpose, I thought I'd give it a try. First off, the package is mostly in a different language (Thai), so it was hard to find the English and see what this actually was, but eventually I located the ingredients. Besides Senna, I had to look them up, as I'd never heard of some of them. When I tasted it, I was not in love with the flavor. The fruitiness stood out, but there was something in the background that just ruined it for me. I'm usually extremely flexible with flavors and am not terribly picky, but the background flavor actually made me dump it out. My daughter, however, likes it, so maybe it's just me. I only drank half a mug of it, but even so, it did prove to have a mild cleansing effect, so a full mug would probably work well for cleansing the bowel.
