My New Standard
My Coffee Brewing Method The taste of coffee is remarkably different depending on how it is made. Therefore, any coffee review, in my opinion, is useless if not prefaced with the brewing method, water to coffee ratio, and water temp. Everything that touches the water or coffee is cleaned. I use an Aeropress with a stainless steel mesh filter. I use water just off the boil, stir the water and coffee for 10 seconds, top off the press with hot water, and place the plunger to stop the drip through the filter. I let the coffee steep in the water for one minute. I then remove the plunger, stir for another 10 seconds, sometimes top off the press again with hot water, and then replace the plunger atop the press and push the coffee through the press. I then top off the cup of coffee with hot water to a water to coffee ratio of 18:1 grams respectively which is the recommended ratio for this coffee. Amazon Dark Roast Review After I put the Amazon dark roast through my grinder (medium to fine grind) I noticed that it has a wonderful dark roast aroma. That aroma gave me great hopes for its flavor! Before the first sip I found the aroma of the finished coffee to be very pleasant as well. It has a very nice arabica bite as I call it. That unique mouth feel from natureโs best coffee bean. Temperature of coffee affects flavor and Iโm waiting now for that sweet spot to be able to let it linger on my palate to focus on the experience to complete this review. Right now before I get there I think I have found my new standard dark roast. I have 3 or 4 coffees that I keep on hand at all times and partake of any one of them depending on my mood at the moment of selection. None of my "standard" coffees is light roast. The after taste is very important to me. This one is REALLY good! It lingers on the roof of my mouth in a very pleasant way. Smooth, but not mild. It doesnโt molest my taste buds, it leaves them looking forward to the next cup. The coffee is now at 130 F and getting close to the temperature sweet spot. The aroma coming off the brew remains wonderful. As the cup level goes down my nose goes further into the cup. I look forward to it. The coffee has now cooled to 125 F so I can fill my mouth with it and Iโm close to the temperature sweet spot. This coffee will make a great iced coffee. I detect chocolate notes as is usual with a dark roast. Coffee is now at 120 F and I think the sweet spot temperature for this one is about 125 F. Iโm looking forward to my next cup.

Amazing bang for the buck, BUT ...
A two pound bag for half the price of a one-pound bag of competitive coffees. OK, it's not the world's champion coffee. But you'll want to stock up on this as Covid-19 dries up the supply of those premium coffees that are getting hard to get. This is MORE than satisfactory, especially taking into account the incredibly low price. I bought it out of curiosity. Although a bit over-roasted and coarse in flavor it beats all supermarket grade coffees. On a scale similar to judging wines, this gets and 88 or 89. That's not bad. UPDATE (by the way, my package did outgas, but not much, due to delay in shipping) However, I stored it under good conditions for aging, and it finished releasing its gas, and now it tastes much smoother. Sort of like letting wine "breathe". Update on Juen 25, nine months later. It has not aged too well, because a bitter component has increased. I drop its score to about 80. So it is an emergency coffee, almost a last resort. Sorry. I will not be ordering any more of this.

Great coffee
This is one of my favorite coffee stash I order it all the time. Itโs great flavor for an inexpensive price. The only reason I didnโt give it five stars? Every once in a while I get a bag that smells and tastes stale. Most often I open the bag of coffee and the whole kitchen has that burst of great coffee smell and the beans look like they still have their oils. Every once in a while you open the bag and your kitchen smells like church basement coffee and the beans look dry. It doesnโt happen often enough to keep me from ordering it, though. This coffee is a staple for me.

Great taste and value.
I got caught up in that big coffee shop retailer's coffee, and realized I was caught up in their gamifying the coffee experience with purchases. You know, you put money on their card, go to their stores, buy coffee and get stars. Not only do you get caught up I their always a long line, so-called experience, you end up paying for over-priced, high-calorie coffee milkshakes! Well, their stars expire, and you pay so much more for their coffee! Not only that, their roast is consistently dark, and sometimes their coffee tastes the same. So I purchased AmazonFresh Dark Roast Whole Bean Coffee for my grinder/brew machine, and it tastes great. It is a smooth dark blend, but doesn't have that over-roasted dark taste. It is a nice blend, and most of all, I enjoy saving the money for other purchases.

Ok Cheap Coffee
This is an ok cheap coffee. Nothing offensive about the flavor, but I would say the beans are more of a burnt roast than a dark roast. From a cost per lb perspective, Costco usually has bulk premium brand for the same or less cost. If you are not a coffee snob and want cheap convenient coffee, this will work for you.

Love my coffee dark, rich and flavorful
Love my coffee dark, rich and flavorful. Was hesitant to try a new brand since I normally imbibe on 4 shot Americano's when I'm out and about. Started a subscription with the AmazonFresh Dark Roast whole bean and the AmazonFresh Columbia Whole Bean, medium. Gave both a full bag trial and have stopped the medium subscription. Don't get me wrong that coffee is good, but just not rich enough for me. Like my coffee Navy strength.

Fantastic deal.
First, I have to stipulate that I don't actually drink coffee. I hate coffee. It's nasty. I drink cappuccino. Lots of cappuccino. In order to make a worthy cappuccino, you must first have good beans. And these hit all the high points.Very dark, but not burnt. Shiny, not dull. And the beans must grind evenly, not shatter and powder. Strong, bold flavor, but not bitter. Some of the best beans I've found since I moved back to the States. And the price is wonderful.

Nice bag of coffee for a regular cup of coffee.
Pros: Nice strong flavor that I like without the acidity. Nice tobacco, and subtle chocolate notes on the back end. My favorite Dark Roast for the money, is still Costcoโs Guatemalan when I can find it. This is a pretty good substitute bag of whole bean coffee. Not too oily to clog up my grinder. I prepare this with a drip coffee maker, with a medium grind. Pretty good as black cup of Joe without sugar, cream, and junk. Cons: Wish it had a roasted on date. Nice to know where it was sourced from.
