Can this device be used with macos v.12 (monterey)?

Yes, I used it with Monterrey and both Audacity and GarageBand. It works with both, but GarageBand makes transferring MP3s to the Music app easier than Audacity.

Have an aiwa cassette/cd player with red & white input plugs. will input plugs work to output to digitnow?

No, that input is used to play another audio source through your Aiwa. If you're looking to digitize old cassette tapes, the DigitNow does have a 1/8 audio plug. This can be plugged into the headphone jack on your Aiwa (depending on the headphone jack, you may need a 1/8 to 1/4" adapter) to transfer your music to your computer. You will need to keep the volume somewhat low, so the sound doesn't become distorted.
