I use this on my exterior fan on my deck. The fan speed is too high and with this I can adjust the speed to where I like it.

Works well for my need, easy to use and sturdy enough build....of course there is this not-so-sweet spot where you go from low power and try to kick it up a hair, and it kicks up a hair (ok, an arm hair) length rather than thickness....not critical for me but I can see it being a problem for some applications.
