Smells great, simple beeswax base, works great, just great!
Very happy with this stuff. Smells like honey because of the beeswax content, that was a nice first impression when I opened it. Other leather conditioners/dressings I have used in the past had strong chemical smells and I really like how natural and simple this stuff is. I bought a very nice handmade vegetable tanned leather belt that I LOVE and wanted to take care of it, plus the edges weren't slicked/burnished to my liking and after reading about it I figured I'd try to clean up the edges myself. I got this today and rubbed the surface with a light coat and then went to work on the edges. It was a quick and easy job as this stuff instantly made a huge difference, I repeated a couple coats and rubbed down the edges to a nice slick/burnished look. I am super happy with it and this tub is larger than I expected. I wasn't sure what 6oz of it would really look like but it was only $3 more than the 2.5oz and had prime shipping so I figured why not, but based on how much I liberally applied today I barely put a dent into it. I expect this to last me pretty much forever as I don't really own much leather but I will definitely be using this on any leather I have it is GREAT!. I attached a before and after picture so you can see how nice it cleaned up the edge, it also really brought out the nice natural leather color in the belt. I love the look of natural undyed vegetable tanned leather and I really like how this beeswax based dressing shined it up, and it will really help protect my nice belt for years to come. I highly recommend this product if you are looking for a good leather dressing, I mean come on they've been around since 1902! You don't stay in business that long by being sub-par! Go ahead and grab a 6oz tub it will last forever and you will be very pleased, much better than gross smelling chemical alternatives. 5 stars!

Necessary product if you care about your leather goods
I slather this on all my boots before the winter and it renews them like nothing else. They become waterproof and supple and beautiful. I've put it on multiple vintage leather jackets to keep them conditioned and they drink it up. It doesn't seem to darken the leather in my experience. It's absolutely necessary if you want your leather goods to last.

Great product but so little of it for this price
I liked this product. Used it to revitalize hard-working 20-year old Red Wing work boots. It is perfect for that. I just think that the amount was a bit miserly for the price.

Softens, Protects and Waterproofs as Advertised
As an active motorcyclist, I have more leather gear than should be allowed and I am constantly searching for ways to clean, soften and protect heavy leather boots, jackets and gloves. I have tried various oils and pastes including mink oil (natural and synthetic), neatsfoot oil, Obenauf's, Leather CPR and a number of oils and waterproofers. (I have to say that Leather CPR is the best cleaner - better than saddle soap IMHO and does an adequate job of softening new leather.) After stumbling upon a forum of vintage leather jacket buffs who highly recommended Pecard's Leather Dressing, I decided to give it a try. I tried it first on a pair of relatively new Vanson competition weight leather jackets. These guys are made of VERY heavy leather and have broken in some over the past few months but remained only semi-comfortable. Although the manufacturer recommends using a light cloth, I followed the advice of the old jacket buffs and used my bare fingers, working about a six-inch square section at a time. The heat from the rubbing helps the leather absorb the dressing and I could feel the leather begin to soften as I worked it in. When done, each jacket had a glossy sheen that mostly went away overnight as the leather fully absorbed the treatment (only one required a light buffing with a cloth the next day). Next up was a Schott 418 (Perfecto-style but a slightly blemished leather) that has been notoriously stiff since purchasing. This time I used an old tube sock and worked it in continuously, allowing it to set overnight. All three jackets were much softer and more comfortable the next day! I then used the tube sock application method on a pair of Frye harness boots. Again, they seemed to soften a bit immediately and were noticeably more pliable the following day. Have only had them in a light rain so far, but they do seem to be dryer. All in, I'm extremely satisfied with this product and will continue to use it on all my leather goods.

Better than Mink Oil
This (Pecard 32oz Leather Dressing) is a great product to use on just about any finished leather item. I most often use it on my leather shoes to hide scuffs and wear and protect from the wet and winter salt. It darkens the leather a little but makes them look almost new when done! I use it every week and can not remember the last time I used polish. I use to have to buy a new pair of leather shoes for work every year; right after winter ended as the ice, snow, wear and salt of the season took its toll. Now I'm able to keep those shoes working! I stopped using mink oil as I discovered that mold is attracted to the natural product (when I found a pair of leather shoes stored away had green fuzz all over it!) I was a fan of mink oil for a decade or more; but after a few years of using this product I have thrown my mink oil away as this simply works better and does not run the risk of mold. PS: I have purchased a few of the vintage Pecard Tins online or when found in the vintage stores. I refill them from this super-sized container for that retro look and feel. See Images.

Really excellent product. I've used Pecard for many years for treatment of vintage leather garments (Flying jackets, Gloves, Flying boots etc) and for vintage military equipment. The product is easy to apply, leaves no smell, and garments and equipment regain suppleness. Overall a first rate product. Highly recommended.

Fantastic product, you don’t need too much and I found it best doing one light application leaving it a day and then repeating process. It’s brought a dry old leather sheepskin/shearling jacket back to life. Well worth the money and would recommend to anyone!
