how to choose the right size?

I purchased a 30” linear drain and it ended up being too big for the area I had. I ended up purchasing a 6”square drain for my quest shower. The important measurement would be how far from the wall you need to be in order to have the slope needed for these drains. My plumber said you need 1/2” per linear foot of slope from the further most wall to the drain itself. You also need to consider how far from the wall where the drain has to be placed. There needs to be slope from that wall too. Just make sure you hire a professional to install these drains.
