Purrrrfect for My Growing Cat Family – Spacious, Easy to Clean, and Practical!
I bought the Amazon Basics No-Mess Hooded Enclosed Cat Litter Box for my expanding cat family—and let me tell you, it was the best decision. I have two indoor cats, but we recently brought in a pregnant momma kitty who needed a safe, private place to have her kittens. This litter box was the perfect solution. It’s low enough for the little kittens to hop right in, but it’s also spacious enough that they didn’t feel cramped. Bonus: they didn’t even seem to mind the dome! They were in and out, no drama. Now that the kittens have grown up and moved on to other homes, my giant Maine Coon has claimed this litter box as his new domain. And, he actually prefers it to the fancy Litter Robot we’ve been using! Who knew? Apparently, he values privacy and a little extra room to stretch his legs. A couple of things to keep in mind: The dome is super easy to pop off for cleaning (thank you, genius design), but let’s be real—don’t trust the plastic handle for lifting when the box is full of litter. I mean, it’s plastic, not magic, and it’s carrying a small mountain of kitty litter. I always grab the whole thing from the base to move it. In short, this litter box has been a huge hit in our household. It’s functional, space-saving, and the cats love it (well, the Maine Coon does, anyway). We’ll definitely be sticking with this one—and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a litter box that’s easy to clean, doesn’t take up a ton of space, and won’t make your cat feel like they’re living in a shoebox.

Great size and fit for my cat's and my furnishings requirements..
This was exactly the size I needed to fit under my bench a d it helps with odor and spill. I left the flap off until my cat gets used to it and then I will add it back on but what a wonderful litter box! Great fir a single cat. The height is excellent for her to sit how she wants to sit and the width is easy for her to turn around and to the side. She still drags out a little litter between her toes but now she will not be able to miss the box as she often did. She is elderly and has bad hips. I dont know why I waited for this, I should have been using it for the last few years instead of what I was. Ive had a lot of different litter boxes over the years and this is the best single cat box that I have had.

Fits in small spaces, easy to clean, easy to move!
Got this back in 2018, somewhere around there, and I am getting another one. It's easy to clean, fits in tight spaces, easy to move, the lid doesn't feel like it's going to come off when I move it and it's been nice to have. Now with two cats, having three litter boxes is 100% needed. Never had any issues with leakage, and the high sides work for a covered box. I think without the lid this would also be good. Would recommend. I am seriously hoping the new one isn't going to have an overly powering strong plastic odor, that is always a concern because it's toxic. Would recommend based on first purchase years ago.

Affordable Yet Effective
I'd say that this is likely a great go to litterbox to start out with if you're not looking to spend too much. It's a decent size that larger sized cats don't feel too cramped inside and it can hold a decent amount of litter. We have two and our cats don't have any issues using them. The door is easy for them to push through and seems to contain the smell well, although the "carbon" insert is not exactly something that is going to help with the smell. My only real complaint is that the box can begin to smell on its own if not thoroughly cleaned out and wiped down after a month or so, but anyone that owns a litterbox knows that this can happen. All in all, I am satisfied with my purchase!

A fine litter box for the price
It's a good covered litterbox. My cat likes it, it covers odor well, and most importantly, it keeps my cat from shoveling litter all over the floor. Is it perfect? No. Is it as perfect as I could reasonably expect for the price? Yes. Pros: the design is mostly good. The cover is high, and the door opens not just for the cat, but along the top too for easy scooping. It functions well. Did I mention how cheap it is? Price matters! Cons: The plastic is a bit thin, which has a couple effects. The clips on the cover are a bit finicky. Removing the cover isn't necessary to scoop the litter, but I do like to remove it to empty the litterbox. It's a mild annoyance. Also, because the plastic is thin, picking up the litterbox by the top handle on the cover seems a bit iffy. I can see the thin plastic bending or warping out of shape over a long time. Again, a mild annoyance. But here's the thing, it's cheap. I don't keep plastic litter boxes for more than a couple years max anyway. The urine smell eventually seeps into all plastic litterboxes eventually. So it's good to replace them occasionally. Or get a stainless steel litter box, but if you're in the market for stainless steel, expect to have a stainless steel budget of you want a good one. Sometimes good enough is best. I don't think you can get a better litterbox for $33. I give this 5 stars because the values is good. I don't need it to last forever. I can afford to replace it.

all my cat’s pee problems are ancient history!
I never anticipated feeling so strongly about a cat box before. A long and detailed review, for context: my cat is a big - a BIG- fella, and finding a litter box suitable for his size has been a real challenge. I’ve gone through some 15-20 failed purchases when it comes to litter boxes- they all proved to be too small for him (height, depth, width, all the above), and unfailingly he would always pee over the sides by accident. What can I say, he is a high pee’ing kinda cat. Annoyingly, he also only likes to pee on the front-facing side of litter boxes sometimes, so those boxes with the flap-doors on the front usually failed to contain his pee- he would just whizz right out the front door. we tried covered boxes, which claimed to be airtight, but no luck. We tried open boxes, with absorbent “pet-pee resistant” pads underneath, no good. I even tried those “shields” you can put on the inside of a traditional litter box, but even that did not work for the poor fella. I felt bad. Who am I to tell a furry friend how to do his business? I cant blame him for his size or the fact his boxes never seemed to work, but I was also at my wits end with cleaning up after him every day. This box was a last attempt at litter boxes, I really was convinced a macgyver-style home-rigged Home Depot storage box would be my only hope. But. after reading everyone’s enthusiastic endorsements of this box, I thought “meh, let’s give this one more shot”. Y’all. When I say this box did not disappoint, THIS BOX DID NOT DISAPPOINT! the sides? i know the clasp looks deceptively like it might not hold in kitty liquids, it is actually AIR TIGHT. the front flap? Even though my furry friend likes to pee facing that side, it NEVER LEAKS. it’s got that slope in the back, which is awesome, and yet the front part is low-level enough that he can easily climb in and out. added bonus(es): The cat litter slides right out when I go to clean it, unlike other litter boxes where you feel like you’re chiseling marble to get through the clumped litter. The charcoal filter on the top is great too, I’ve noticed it actually does contain/reduce the odor. As for my little mountain-lion? Never seen him happier. I think he likes this box more than I do.. by the way I’ve had this for several months now, and it has held up great, I’m as happy with it now as the day I bought it. Not a single kitty pee drop spilt. the amount of money I am saving on paper towels alone makes this purchase well worth it. Highly, highly recommend this box. 10/10 stars. freakin’ game changer.

EXCELLENT!
Love this, so happy with the purchase. My elderly cat had the same type but smaller for most of his life. He had no interest in even investigating the new version. It took a couple days of just leaving it in plain sight for him to get curious. It didn't happen so I put his old one in the nearby hall and put the new one without the lid with some new litter in the spot he knows is for his potty. He looked at it and took a sniff. He walked over to the old one and just picked in (I left it in its dirty state). He walked back and very consciously entered and did his business. I left it like this for another day and then put the top on with the door folded back. His old on never had a useable door so he didn't understand the door. Then he lost all interest in his old one and got very comfortable in his new one. He is a very large cat and he is now able to sit upright and then easily move around to cover things up to his satisfaction. Huston, we have a winner! I still haven't lowered the door which works amazingly well but when I know company is coming, I close it as the potty is in my bathroom. The door easily folds up and lays on top of the potty which is a feature I didn't realize it had until putting it all to use. How cool is that! So, I do highly recommend this especially if your cat is on the large size. Even though it is larger than the old one, it is easy to clean for which I am most grateful. Great product and great seller.

Great litter box for adult cats! No more leaking urine out of the top!
This large, hooded cat litter box has solved so many of my cat issues. My female, one-year-old cat is average size and has always been very good about using her litter box. I have a dog as well. The first issue is we have limited space in the house for a litter box set up that keeps the dog out of food and out of the litter box. So, I ordered a cat litter box enclosure (also from Amazon-love it!). Second, I ordered the hooded litter box because my cat does not squat when she urinates. The urine was shooting out over the edge of the old, basic box she had as a kitten. Urine was draining out of the enclosure onto the floor. What a horrific mess! The large, hooded box has been a lifesaver! NO more mess! The sides are tall enough and if she does not turn around and hits the front of the box, there is a ledge that is covered by a liner bag that stops it from leaking out. There is no smell or unsightly feces to look at. The tracked litter out of the box is minimal. I started by just placing her in the box and keeping the flap open. After it was obvious that she was using the box correctly, I closed the flap. She has had no change in using the box or difficulty. If you have an older cat, obviously putting it on top of the enclosure might be problematic. I finally feel like I can keep up with the mess she makes. Eventually, I think I will try to put the litter box inside the enclosure and the food on top because the dog can sneak in and get her food! Always something! This is a great setup for us!!

High backwall great for back pissers.
This car litter makes a lot of sense! The high back wall is excellent becoz now when my cat pisses towards the back, it no longer seeps out and onto the floor like the other litters. Also the lid moves out of the way easily enough to scoop the poos. And the cover and the filtered seals keeps the odor from coming out. It's very good. I highly recommend.

Functional and easy to use for the cats and me
The design is straightforward and functional. The flap can be placed in the down position, so the cat has to go through the door in order to use the litter. Or the flap can be placed in the up position, so the cat does not to deal with the door at al and can enter through the opening. The plastic is smooth and of high quality, so the scoop slides easily when you use it. The cover helps prevent the spread of dust but can be removed for cleaning of the litter pan. The cats took instantly to using it even though it was placed in a part of the house far removed from their usual litter. All-in-all, I am highly satisfied with the purchase.
