We didn't buy these for paint straining, we get them for pre-germinating grass seed. These are great for that. We put in the amount of grass seed needed, tie off the opening, then soak them in a 5 gallon bucket of water for a couple of days. When the grass seed germinates and roots start, we then mix the germinated seed with fertilizer and dirt, then spread it where needed. The grass ALWAYS grows with no wait time. These bags are the only way to do this, and they work terrific. They are super tough and durable. They simply rinse clean for another use. They also fit perfectly over a 5 gallon bucket for ease of use.I am sure that they are great for paint straining, and it we need it for that, we have some on hand. If not we will definitely get more. Till then, they are great for grass germination. These are a terrific value for the price and we highly recommend them. 5 stars from us.

I use them to strain my honey when I harvest every year. Can't beat it and they are nice and strong.

Besides the fact that I only received 3 of them instead of 10 like the listing says but I am waiting for the replacement and in the meantime I was able to use the 3 I received for fermented plant extracts and they work wonderfully. I like the fact that the mash is very small but not too small and not too large either so all my plant matter stayed inside and nothing came out through the holes which is what I was worrying about.I noticed some reviews saying that the opening is too tight and doesn't fit a 5 gallon bucket which is a complete lie because I used the three on three 5 gallon buckets and every single one of them fit without a problem and without any extra work. The rubber band keeps the hull small but it stretches very good and fits 5 gallon buckets very easily. These are much better than I thought they would be especially for the price it's a deal all day. Highly recommend! They are very sturdy as well. I had to squeeze all the remaining liquid out of the leaves and then another bucket I had fruits and I put a lot of pressure on squeezing them and twisting them and not a single rip. Like I said I am surprised that for this price I got such good product. I washed all three of them in the washing machine and once again they came out without any rips or tears.
