Do they open to create 2 sides, can you not separate them (being binded together) and only open it from the middle?

First of all they are very small, and yes you can open them to create 2 sides. I send mine back because they were to small. The size is for a kid, not a grownup. Good luck with it

How to unsnap banana clip?

It only unsnaps from one side by pulling the sides apart.

Do these have silicone to prevent fine hair from sliding out?

No they do not, I have very fine, thin hair and have not had a problem. Suggestion: Spray your hair with a little dry shampoo to "thicken" it and then put in comb. These 6 inch ones are small and you should not have a problem.
