Does the job, so far just like when the fan was new
After 13 years our previous Broan/Nutone QT-80 series replacement motor finally called it quits. I'm a big fan (sorry about the pun) of the old QT series of fans, primarily because I'm lazy and all that's needed to get it up and running is an available 120v two-prong outlet, which a previous owner of our house supplied in ceiling of this bathroom. No need to cut off power at the circuit breaker and thus having to reset all the clocks, TVs and other electrical devices as the aftermath of shutting down said breaker. Like I said, I'm lazy so why create more work than necessary? Exactly. So that's why these motors are so great in my book. Installation was fairly straightforward if a little dusty and dirty due to the buildup of lint and muck that DIDN'T find its way out the vent line; in our case only a screwdriver and a pair of pliers was necessary to disassemble the fan and motor. So far its operation has been pretty quiet, the complete opposite of the racket that the old motor was making during poor end-of-life operation just prior to completely freezing up its evidently tired and very worn bearings. Well I can say that quiet is indeed very good and this new motor is providing it in spades. I highly implore replacing the plastic blower impeller wheel at the same time that you switch out the motor; in a moment of cheapness I tried reusing the old factory wheel after giving it a cleaning, but its spinning action turned out to be quite unbalanced and proceeded to make almost as much of a racket as it was doing with the old expired motor. Apparently over time the wheel developed a set in combination with the old motor and that wound up causing some unseen wear damage over time to the old wheel, rendering it useless if not an actual hazard to the health of the new motor's bearings. Searching Amazon, I thought that the actual Broan/Nutone wheel was outlandishly priced for what it is, so I took a chance and instead bought an [ASIN: B0CB2VMVWP aftermarket impeller] after reading some of the reviews of the 3rd-party product. One reviewer did say his was noisy, which gave me pause, but I played my cheapness card anyways and order the wheel. And thankfully we've been experiencing results that mirror the positive reviews of this wheel. Just like the motor, it's so far been spinning with VERY little if any intrusive noise. So overall we've been quite pleased with how everything has turned out. The cost of the aftermarket wheel is only a fraction of what the factory part is at, making it a very recommended choice if saving money is important to you. In addition, you may need to buy a replacement retaining clip for the wheel attachment to the motor shaft. In my case I ended up cracking the old clip when I was attempting to remove the old impeller wheel off the old motor; it was the original clip that came with the fan years ago when I first installed this unit in the ceiling of this bathroom, and clearly with its age and wear it did not appreciate being yanked upon. The motor shaft is 1/4" in diameter and Broan/Nutone annoyingly did originally use a proprietary retaining clip design made out of a small square piece of stamped and serration cut sheet metal that they apparently no longer offer. Through Google I did find one online parts dealer who has a handful in their possession and offered for sale...for a king's ransom of nearly $24 apiece(!). $24 plus shipping for a fastener that probably cost fractions of a penny to make? Yeah, no. Instead with the known diameter of the motor shaft in hand, I searched here on Amazon and ordered these [ASIN: B003PNSMPE pushnut caps] for quite a bit less per fastener. Granted I now have 9 EXTRA caps as a result, but assuming I store these in a place where I can find them again, I'll be ready for the NEXT fan repair...though hopefully not anytime soon. :) 5 stars for the motor...and the ease of the repair experience.

fan motor replacment
I used this motor for a replacement for my bathroom fan motor that had the shaft bushings going bad and starting to squeal. My original motor had an odd octagonal mount system so this is the closest I could find for a replacement. The motor works find but the the speed was a little faster than the original so it is a little bit louder and thus the 4 star rating. No fault of this vendor just no exact replacement for my needs so I had to adapt. I will use these guys again as they put a lot of effort into finding something I could use.

Perfect replacement
I had an older style Nutone 10S T JA2C39N+ 86322 and this was a direct fit. It seems more powerful and quieter. Very happy with this new fan.

Original OEM part - Perfect fit.
The item is exactly as described. It is an authentic OEM replacement fan motor of Broan and Nutone exhaust fans. My old fan motor was made in the USA - the new OEM replacement motor was made in China... the electric cord, the mounting screws and physical dimensions of the new OEM fan motor are all exactly the same size(s) as the old fan motor - the specification label on the new OEM fan matched the spec label on the old fan motor. Our old exhaust fan was a Broan, so the removal of the old motor (15 years old) was easy and the install of the new fan motor was easy and fast. . We are quite satisfied that we could replace just the fan motor in the exhaust instead of replacing the entire exhaust fan assembly in the ceiling.

Did not work
Out of the box, it would not turn on when plugged in. Didn't do anything other than pull it out of box and plug it in. Unfortunately, by then it was beyond the return window.

Good value
Great value. Replacing the only the motor and motor mount saved me about $80 over the cost of the complete assembled. My fan had a metal fan blade with a set screw. Works as expected. Remember to buy the rubber motor mount. This unit does not come with one.
