Excellent plug-and-play audio interface for the price
The Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen has been great to use for both recording and music production. It's truly plug and play-setup was quick and painless, and it worked immediately with my system without any issues. Audio quality is solid, with clean input and low noise, making it easy to get good recordings without a lot of extra tweaking. Another nice bonus is the bundle of free plugins and music tools that come with the interface, which adds real value, especially if you're just getting started. It's compact, portable, and well-built, making it easy to take on the go. For the price, it's definitely worth it if you need a reliable, decent-quality audio interface without spending a lot.

An amazing Audio Interface!
A great audio interface! It's super easy to set up and offers some customisation through its various modes. There is next to no audio latency, and it's super easy to move around - making it perfect for a home studio! It's definitely worth it for anyone looking to get serious about voice-over and recordings in general!

Completely amazing device that also looks the part
My first ever audio interface. I've started to dabble with music and was using a RCA 3.5 mm straight out of my Mac into my Audioengine speakers. I have a piano, a guitar and a microphone and wanted to start to take sound more seriously and get these instruments and mic connected to my computer in a "proper" way. So an audio interface is needed. I bought the Scarlett Solo 4th gen. I do not think at my stage I need any more inputs. I was initially looking at much more expensive audio interfaces such as the Antelope models that are upwards of £700. But so many people recommend the Scarlet for beginners for the superb build and sound quality. I picked this up in Dec 2023 when it was on offer for £81. It is absolutely superb and easy to use. The sound quality now that I connect my amplifier directly to the Scarlett is amazing. I can also play my guitar and piano through this either through the speakers or via my headphones to save annoying everyone in the house! I really do not know what spending much more money would deliver. Maybe more features but for someone with modest needs like me the Scarlett is more than capable. Build quality is very good and it is a very attractive in a red metal and is built to last. It is small and discrete. Some of these audio interfaces are big and bulky, but not the Scarlett. Simplicity itself to connect it up on my Mac. Just go to Settings>Sounds and then select the Scarlet which automatically gets added to the list of devices. No need for messing about with drivers etc. I was a bit surprised that upon delivery it was quite lightly packaged. But it arrived perfectly sound. Delighted with it!

Okay but beware of multi-device support issues.
It's okay. I use this Solo 4th gen to run my Electro Voice RE320 microphone (which more sensitive than the RE20 and SM7B), and I did need some extra pre-amp gain (which can be found using devices like a Fethead, Cloudlifter, or what I got a SubZero MB1). After solving this issue however I can now comfortably run with the interface at about 50% volume for the microphone and it sounds great/hits the 6-12db range for speech without being too noisy. Where my complaint comes from is that I tried to run 80 Ohm (DT770) headphones via the interface at the same time as the microphone, and it lead to a couple of issues. At first, I heard some popping in the headphones audio which I resolved by making the buffer larger for the interface and disabling a driver that was causing latency (Elgato Camera Hub driver). This worked, but then I had people tell me that my microphone output sometimes had a robotic sound to it for short periods of time. It didn't matter what buffer size I used, it kept happening. I ended up having to use my prior headphone amp separately to avoid this issue. I tried different USB ports, power cycling, safe mode for the buffer on and off, nothing worked. I looked up solutions online and couldn't find anything which is unfortunate. Not a problem for me, but if you're planning on having this as a mic in audio out then keep this in mind!

Great piece of kit for Mac owners
Easy to set up, comprehensive list instructions online, including loads of videos. The sound quality is good. Keeps the tone with no unwanted distortion or clipping. Well worth £109. Only gripe is the connecting cable supplied isn’t only USBC on one end so you’ll need an adapter for your MacBook. If you go to my website at simoneyre.uk then go to Bonus Content and play song 9 (Renegade) or 10 (Hold my Beer) which were recorded using this kit. Would buy again.

Excellent Audio Quality and Sleek Design
The Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen is a fantastic audio interface. The quality is good, providing clear and professional sound for both instruments and vocals. Setup could not be simpler; it’s completely plug and play, connecting easily to the computer and doing exactly what it needs to do right out of the box. The construction is beautiful and robust, with a nice finish that makes it look great on any desk. This is a reliable, high-performing interface and a definite 5-star product for home recording.

Good product.
It’s Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th gen, one of the best in the market, I am using Edifier MR5 and the sound changed drastically. It’s worth the money, it’s something that you will keep for years.
