The SharkBite brand of water fittings seem to work great, never had one fail yet, and are very easy to install. Would not have been able to make a few of my projects work without great difficulty if not for all the SharkBite fittings I purchased.

Upgraded my shower / bath faucet which required to upgrade the valve and I have no idea how to solder copper pipes and would likely injure myself or burn the place down. Enter SharkBite… OMG they just click onto the pipe! Just sealed up the drywall panel after 2 weeks of usage - zero leakage! HomeDepot per unit price was like +$3 so this savings paid for the tube cutter! Best part though was it came in a 4 pack which is exactly what you need for a shower valve replacement. I literally was gonna call a plumber when I saw the old valve soldered in there. I even figured I’d mess up the fittings and would need to call them in - nope everything went in really easily. Btw my last big home project was changing a burnt bulb, in other words I’m no Bob Villa lol - just to give perspective to “easy”

Yes they are more money then a barbed connector with a crimp ring but they are so much easier to use. No worry about getting the crimp wrong and if I have issues with my pipe the fact I can take the pipe out and change it is very helpful.

I replaced my outdoor sillcock faucets using this connecting up to our 1/2 inch PEX. Even though they say it takes less force to use it took a lot to put it in. Make sure your cut is straight and use the depth guide and deburr tool Sharbite sells for cheap and you won't have to worry about it. For screwing it on I used just a couple wraps of teflon tape and blue Megaloc to ensure there is no leaks. I screwed it all the way down using wrenches. I know some plumbers would say these are temporary only but I have the non-max style I used for my water heater and those have no leaks years later. I will be checking for leaks in the coming weeks/months though just for the piece of mind.
