Ice Cube: Attitude

This book deserves much more attention than it has rec'd. It is a PROPER dive into Ice Cube's past. Written with panache and grit, the author uncovers so many small details and historic moments which ultimately built the great Ice Cube we know today, who STILL comes out with classics like American Scheme (2025) which is rich, potent social commentary that the billionaires would rather you ignore. Hats off to this dogged writer.

I have not finish it yet but it is very very indepth it has strengthened my like for the pioneers of gangsta rap.

This is the full story of Cube as wella s how he fitted in with the careers of 2Pac, Dr Dre, Eazy and Ice-T, the author has tied all the stories together and talked about defining events in hip hop like the LA riots in 92. I cannot recommned this book more highly!!

If you are at all interested in rap culture, buy this book now! I originally wanted Dr. Dre's biography, but this was cheaper and qualified for prime. So glad I did. It's an excellent read. I like how Joel McIver explains the social and cultural context of Ice Cube's story instead of just a play by play of his life.

Für wissbegierige in Sachen HipHop ein durchaus interessanter Schmöker von den Anfängen Ice Cubes bei N.W.A. bis zu seinem "War&Peace"-Album im Jahre 2000. Man erfährt vieles über die Gründe zur Trennung der Truppe und seinen Beefs mit Dr. Dre, Easy-E (R.I.P.) und Cypress Hill. Nervig sind, und deshalb gibt es nur 4 Sterne, die langen Kapitel über die mittelmäßigen Filme (wenn man mal Boyz'n'tha hood" aussen vor lässt), in denen er mitgewirkt hat; aber sonst...
