Lovely to work with. "Buildable" colours so darker/lighter of the same shade. Creamy as suggested in the name. Am finding it difficult to find a nice sharpener that doesn't rip the wood or eat too much of the pencil. Pleased overall. Especially as I purchased in the sale. I have lots of castle art products. They're not the cheapest but I think you get what you pay for. The original website of Castle also does bundles..with extra discounts. Comes in a nice tin so easy to keep tidy and to hand. Plastic inserts is the only thing that lets it down..but maybe that's just me

Fantastic set of good quality pencils, excellent ability to blend and such a great variety of colours to suit everything. Where they are a good quality it makes them strong and durable which is always good when using pencils last thing you want is the breaking too easily. Comes with a lovely little book to help you and also the colour sheet is great added touch.

These are really great colouring pencils and very professional looking ...I have had lots of fun with my artwork using them

The pencils themselves are lovely - very soft and the colours are great. I only have 2 issues (which I can see others have found too). Firstly when the pencils arrive they're just put in the tin randomly, so it's impossible to see what colours are there. I took the time to sort them properly, but it would be great if that had already been done. Secondly, although the tin is really nice and compact, the inserts are quite difficult to get out. Maybe each tray could do with a couple of tabs to pull to make that easier? Otherwise they're well worth the money, better than others I've had for a similar price.

Arrived the next day, undamaged. Lots of different colours. Comes in a mental case easy to access. Value for money.

Absolutely amazing pencil colours! The quality is fantastic and the colours are vibrant and smooth to use. A perfect gift for any art lover.

I am so happy with this colouring pencils set! The pencils come in a black tin. There were no scratches or dents. I like the the way the pencils look - the barrels are round, black with coloured tips. I believe the black colour of barrels adds "a touch of elegance" - the pencils do not look ordinary at all. The pencils do not require much pressure - they are soft and easy to blend and it is really important while colouring bigger areas. It is also important that they do not break if you press harder. I also like the colours variety. In my opinion a 72-pieces pack is an excellent base to start with even in more seriouls drawing. There is just one thing I am missing in this pencils set - either the colour numbers or both: numbers and names. In my opinion it is essential to know which colors make the "colour family" and can be used together to obtain the shading effect. I am planning to number the colours myself and build a colour blending chart - I am used to colouring with markers and colour blending charts are starting poing in every work I make. Overall, it is a very good pencils set, at a very affordable price.

Son unos lápices de gran calidad a un precio muy bueno. Son bastante blandos pero no demasiado. Consiguen una saturación cromática bastante rápida si presionas un poco más. La paleta de color está peor estructurada en la zona de los matices azules y verdes, abunda en colores oscuros muy próximos en tono (claro-oscuro) y se echan en falta más tonos medios y claros. El color de testigo de la base se corresponde mal con el color propio de la barra y vendría bien que estuviesen al menos numerados para poder relacionarlos con la carta guía que se puede hacer uno mismo (adjunto la que hice yo). La caja metálica es negro mate al igual que los lápices pero debería tener un poco más de anchura para disponer unas ranuras que permitan acomodar bien los lápices y que no se monten entre sí como ocurre. Los lápices tienen un acabado muy bueno y un tacto muy agradable, la madera que usan, ignoro cual, es de una fibra fina y compacta y permite un cono de afilado muy liso, sin astillado. La barra me responde muy bien al afilador, no se me ha roto ninguna y los he afilado todos dos o tres veces ya. Añado una copia/versión de este Van Gogh. Los colores cálidos rojo-amarillos se consiguen fácil y rápido, son más problemáticos los tonos azul pálido de las paredes porque el azul más claro disponible es todavía oscuro y hay que trabajar más fusionando con blanco insistentemente. Los azules intensos de las puertas sin embargo se consiguen fácilmente.

I agree with all the other positive reviews. Really good pencils at a great price. Im a fan of adult coloring. My needs are pencils that easily lay down colors with a good variety of colors. Nothing bothers me more than having to use 3 or more repeated strokes over the same line in order to get a complete color. Ive tried 6 different brands and so far and Castle is my preference. To me Prismacolor smears too much for the high price. Faber-Castle are great but too expensive for an amateur coloring book hobbyist. The other less expensive brands are hard and waxy and leave blotchy patches that look like they aren't even colored. It takes a great amount of pressure and multiple strokes to lay down color on the paper. This makes my hands and wrists hurt. Might as well use kids Crayola Pencils or the cheap Rose brand. The softer texture of the Castle Pencils take less pressure, blend easier and give a smooth line. My hands dont fatigue as much. I get good color coverage and a great price!
