Excellent Telescope for the Home Enthusiast
This is a wonderful telescope that comes with everything you need to have a great time stargazing. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son, who will be going into aerospace engineering in the fall, and he loves it. The kit comes with a great tripod that’s sturdy enough to keep things stable and secure when using, all the lens filters and adapters you need, it’s small enough to be convenient and something he can take to college with him, but large enough to “feel real” and not flimsy or like a toy; plus, it comes with a convenient bag to keep everything in one place. The best feature for my son is the phone holder to take photos with his phone camera. Images are clear and the magnification is great. I’ve always enjoyed telescopes but never had one of my own. Being able to purchase this as a gift for my son at such a great price point was a no-brainer. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting a great jumping-off point for strolling the skies! Great product!

Great telescope for beginners and more advanced amateur astronomers
The optical tube is of metal construction with plastic components. It has an integrated dew shield that can be extended out, which is very convenient. A focusing knob is present on both sides, but there is no separate fine focusing mechanism. However, the focusing travel is very smooth. The optics are surprisingly good for telescope at this price point. A finderscpoe is included. I was able to align it with the main optical tube without any difficulty. The lens cap has a central opening with a separate cap, so it can double as an aperture mask for viewing very bright objects. Mind you this telescope is primarily for visual use. You can, however, take pictures using a mobile phone with an adapter (included), or a simple eyepiece camera. Two eyepieces, a 20mm and a 9mm are included. The included 1.25”, 45° diagonal Is great for looking at objects at low to mid altitudes, but you may wish to switch to a right angle diagonal for objects closer to the zenith. Don’t expect to do hard-core astrophotography with this unit; I have several expensive, bigger telescopes, for that purpose. By the way, you can also use it for terrestrial purposes, such as birdwatching. And besides, for casual visual astronomy you don’t need superlative optics. I typically take my smart telescope to astronomy field meets and outreach programs. While it is nice to be able to show real time images on a tablet or computer screen, I have noticed that the public yearns to look through an eyepiece. Somehow, putting an eye against the eyepiece and gazing at a heavenly body seems more “real” than looking at an image on a tablet. There is an adequate alt-az tripod included. If you attach a separate third party manual mount, to the tripod, with fine control, it makes tracking easier. The optical tube is lightweight and comes with a backpack for easy transport of all the components including the tripod. So it is ideal for taking to an outreach program. I was able to see a ring around Saturns with the 9 mm eye piece, even though it was low in the horizon. The moon looked glorious with craters and mare clearly visible. I could not detect any chromatic aberration at the edges visually, but there was a hint of color fringing on pictures taken with an eyepiece camera. As a quick grab and go telescope, at this price, you can’t go wrong.

Good Purchase. Completely Satisfied.
This telescope is built very well and is fairly capable in this price range. There is sturdy plastic cap on the lenses and the extra lenses also come with a strong case. If you are a beginner, this will be the perfect way to get started. You can enjoy the moon in the highest level of detail and can even view moons of Jupyter. You have two different lens available for viewing objects depending on the distance. The stand is also really stable with smooth moving parts which allows for a good experience while adjusting the telescope lens and focus. The overall weight is good and it also comes with a backpack that makes it easy to take it with you during hikes. Finally, the attachment for holding phones is the best part. You can take a picture of the view from the telescope.

Easy to use
Good product for the price point. Everything works as advertised and the optics appear to be pretty clear. Easy assembly. Only issue is the finder scope. The screws that hold it in place make it a little difficult to establish and hold position, but its not terrible. Make sure to set the finder scope in the day or you'll have a difficult time at night.

Good quality for good price
Purchase this for my niece‘s ninth birthday. She loves it. It is also a big hit with the adults. We’ve used it quite a bit to stargaze in the country. The size of the telescope seems reasonable. It unfolds and assembles relatively easily. The bag that comes with it is really handy because you can also fit a small blanket or a few snacks for stargazing trip. We haven’t figured out the phone add-on feature yet, but suspect it will work well.

Perfect for my GS. He is 12...loves the stars and moon viewing. This has taken him to another level of learning about what's beyond!

Upside down
Bought this to watch the planets align but I couldn’t figure out how to fix the finder scope and the images are upside down. I am very new to this unsure what I need to do. When I did find the moon it was not very clear like the pics I’ve seen on the reviews. Just looked like a big light had a better view without a telescope. Other than that it was easy set up unsure how to use the moon filter.

Adult beginner 80 mm Telescope with additional useful features!
I saw the Celticbird Telescope for Adults with the additonal features and decided to give it a try. Item came well packaged and arrived one day after I ordered it. Everything in the photo was included for this travel telescope for easy set up and use. I am an intermediate to advanced user of telescopes as a useful disclaimer. The telescope was disassembled and packed the included backpack which is a nice touch for easy transport. I took about 15 minutes to setup the telescope (your time may vary based on experience). The stand has a built-in compass and bubble level which eliminates the need to have these extra items for leveling and pointing the telescope to "True North" before performing cursory alignment. with the finder scope. The telescope is well constructed with a dew shield and on the mount there are Azmuth markings as well as Alt degree settings that will aid the user to the degree of rotation relative to north and elevation to which the telescope to point upwards. After the initial setup, the alignment of the main scope to the finder scope was done. This step is best done during the day with the target at the appropriate elevation and distance (as per the instructions; communication towers or telephone poles work well to get things dialed in). I took a couple of shots of the moon during the day without the included camera mount just to get a rough idea on the resolution and clarity of a local target (See the attached photos using the 20 mm eyepiece). I briefly used the telescope at night and was able to view some local stars and determine the functionality based on the initial setup. Overall, Celticbird has produced a budget minded telescope that can get a beginner up and running and as a teaching tool for new users. Keep in mind that the telescope mount for this setup can be a bit shaky due to it being lightweight to hold the telescope, but it is functional and will provide a great experience for those starting out in astronomy.
