VERY NICE
Arrived promptly and well packaged. I used it to make a taramasalata, which went down well. Also very good straight out of the tin, grilled or fried.

Overpriced
This is the third time I have tried to leave a 2 star review on this product and its just not appearing. The product is ok but can be purchased for less than half the price in some well known supermarkets.

Don't let the can turn you off this cod roe is yummy especially on a sandwich
So I have to admit that the can itself left a lot to be desired with its World War 2 presentation. I quickly gave up on the key - lock tab opening. I was going to take a quick taste and chuck (that is how low my expectations were) And the first tiny bite was uneventful and then I remembered that a reviewer had mentioned a small squeeze of lemon. I am not quite sure what happened after my second pressed cod roe sandwich but I do remember thinking I need another can of this stuff.... Sadly it is to expensive for more frequent sandwich's but this stuff is really good

it is a fish paste
it is actually a fish paste that has no taste of the cod roe. It has very little fish tatse and a lot of other ingredients - starch etc. They do not show the ingredients in the Amazon page.

WTF
WTF is this! Bought many cans over the years, including from Amazon, and hitherto exactly the same as bought in UK before we immigrating to the US. Has been unavailable for a year or so, so being overjoyed to see it available and bought it again. Normally would have bought 4, 6, 8 cans but as the price was ridiculously high (thankfully) bought just one. Today, we starred it our favorite recipe for it and is was absolutely aweful! Wet, soggy, and devoid of texture and taste that we have enjoyed over 40 years. WILL NEVER BUY IT AGAIN.

Quality product
If you like the taste of cod roe this product is great. It looks weird coming out the can, color of bologna, however its nice and dense packed. I cut cold slice of and had it on crackers, loved it. I pan fried slices, not bad but preferred it cold out of the can. Will buy again
