Hi,the maximum load weight of this product depends on the quality of the ceiling, whether the bracket is fixed and whether the lamp holder can be held without bending. The load capacity for vertical installation is less than horizontal.

Do you believe this item will work with canon xh-a1s video camera? i planned on mounted the item on my wall to hold the camera.

That's a reasonably light camera, it depends on how you're attaching it. I think it might do the trick. I use it for holding light boxes and there is no problem.
