Very small
I originally ordered these for a diy project I wanted to do but these are a lot smaller than I anticipated. Still well made I will find another use for them

Perfect very small diameter brazing rods for smaller thinner stuff
Perfect very small diameter brazing rods for smaller thinner stuff The website states that these can be used for refrigeration, but I use Silver Bearing Brazing rods only when I do refrigeration brazing. And at that I run pure non-reactive Nitrogen gas inside the pipe to prevent flaking. Nevertheless, these are perfect small diameter brazing rods for the thin stuff. Sometimes I use added flux and sometimes I don’t. I used several inches of one rod to repair a hole in the bottom of my toolbox. The melted brazing pool can be torch flame smoothed for a strong repair requiring less finish work.

I’m just learning to solder, and these brass rod seem great
After a little bit of training and research, I learned what kind of brazing rods to get and these fit the bill and seem great. I have not gotten to use them yet, but when I do, I expect great things. Anything other than great things will get an update in this review.

Easy to melt
I own an oxy-acetylene torch but out of curiosity I attempted to melt one of these brazing rods with a propane torch. As you can see in the picture it was successful, even with the large tip. With a concentrated flame it would work even better. The brazing rods do melt at a low temperature. 1/16" is very small so these rods are most useful for small brazing jobs. There are 20 in the package and they all come in a nice dispenser that keeps them safe and organized.

Good quality 1/16” dia brazing rods
These are decent thin brazing rods at a reasonable price. They will work with a MAPP gas torch but you’ll have a much easier time with an oxygen acetylene torch and a proper tip to focus your heat. Remember to stick the rods into flux and it’ll flow very easily. Well worth the price

Disappointed
I wanted to braise two copper leaves together. I cleaned the stems. Had it all prepped. I used flux and I could not get the braising rod hot enough to flow. I did, however, apply enough heat that it melted the stem on one of the leaves I was trying to braise. The braising rod itself broke off into chunks when heated. I might try this on a different type of steel but I don’t have much hopes as this just doesn’t want to heat and flow the way a braising rod should.
