Hello J., This can has 18 escargots so that's 3 servings. 237 mg sodium per serving. We only eat this once in a while so that's not bad at all. They are delicious with french baguette. My family loved it!

I cant understand whats in the jar? I mean is it a snail meat?

Well it is a can with a dozen cleaned and cooked large snails, just the meat all ready to eat. We maKE a snail butter with salted butter, minced garlic, minced parsley, salt and pepper to taste and we also add a splash of pernod or Ricard. put some of the butter in a shell add one of the snails and top off iwth some ,ore butter, heat in the oven to melt the butter and warm up the meat. yum yum.. good luck.
