No need to cut, crimp, or splice wires with this kit.
I like that this product has wiring harnesses that are plug-and-play, with no splicing or crimping required. It also has a mounting bracket that makes for a secure installation without drilling, etc. I found the instructions a little hard to understand (they are not included, there is only a QR code to get a pdf off the Dometic web site). I found a yt video that helped a lot. It also helps to open the unit and look at it while you read the instructions. It was actually not as difficult as I thought. It seems to work fine as it no longer trips the circuit breaker when starting up.

Easier on my generator!
This soft start makes running the AC on my camper run smoother by softening the compressor engagement. There is no splicing of wires since the kit came with wire looms with all end connectors. The kit also included a steel bracket which mounts over the electric blower motor and soft start is mounted to that. How easy can it get.

Failed way to soon
Failed after the 4th A/C start up. Was spiking my camper amps from 3amps to 40 amps every 3-5 seconds. A/C never got cold. Removed it and the A/C works again like normal.

Worked as it should, no real instructions
I wanted a soft start for our brisk 2 air conditioner, I thought going the manufacturing one would be the best. I've only used it a couple of times and it works just fine, it was very easy to hook up, however they basically give no useful instructions.I was able to find a YouTube video for a different unit install, not from domestic, and that gave me the information needed to install it.There is no cutting or crimping of wires, and if I were to do another one it would only take me about 15 minutes, it took about 45 minutes because I was unsure and had to consult the third party video a few times.Dometic needs to step up their support and instructions.

Great soft start
Purchased August 2025:Soft start for Dometic 15k btu A/C works great and starts the air conditioner on the 6k watt inverter without any issues.

It works, but no instructions
Seems to work good, under 2000w and doesn't peak to 5000watts anymore.Only thing is that it doesn't come with any instructions as to where the wires go.Why doesnt this come from factory.
