I'm a shop mechanic, not specialized but sometimes I do work on hybrids, and I'm one of those cowboys who opens up the battery pack to replace the bad cell. You have to have a megaohm meter for some of the resistance testing involved in diagnosing those batteries internally, and this one has been working great for me. It's probably saved my business over $10,000 being able to repair instead of replace.

The markings for plugging in the probes are a little confusing and not intuitive. But well explained in the manual. Plastic case is not impressive, but functions well. Looks like it is NOT made for rough service. We will see if it holds up over time or not. I would recommend for a lab meter, but not a meter to be used in the field, unless you really baby it. Hence the 4 out of 5 stars.

Easiest way to check my hybrid system fault. Worked and got to diagnose my fault. Good quality for the price, nice to read gauges and screen.

I wanted to like the AIOMEST Megohmmeter 0.1MΩ-20GΩ Digital because the feature set looked good for the price, but mine would randomly shut off before completing insulation tests. That made the readings unreliable and pretty frustrating when trying to perform longer tests. I checked the batteries and connections and still had the same issue. Ended up returning it because I couldn’t depend on it for actual field use.
