Amazing quality stand, especially with spring loaded poles to save your lights from impact if the pole falls. But, the legs are quite small compared to others and so I wouldn’t recommend these for bigger diffusers or soft boxes (>1m diameter).

Ordered this to mount my camcorder on at the side of arena while training my horse so I can watch our training sessions back. Also needed something approaching 2m height to be at the right angle for what I needed - I wanted something cheap and cheerful that doesn't fall over in a gust of wind - this was excellent, super sturdy and just feels very nice quality and not flimsy. I'm not a pro photographer or anything but it was solid and sturdy and did exactly what I needed for the price range.

Worked perfectly with my Godox SL 60w. Really good value for the price, really stable and solid and great quality of the material. You have options for adjust it. I can recommend

This is a good stand and excellent value at this price. You do need to be careful when setting it up. Depending on how heavy the attachment on top and how high you rig it, it could topple. This is not a fault in the stand but common sense when rigging lights on stands. They need to be stable.

When I first received it, I used it for lightweight equipment indoors, such as mobile phone or LED light panel, see photos. For this purpose, this light stand is adequate. You can also use it as a light boom for LED panel, see photo. However the problem really comes when you try to use it outdoors without other support. The first time I used it for a photography umbrella (lightweight 80cm umbrella and a Manfrotto umbrella joint on top of this light stand) in the garden, it toppled and hence damaged my unbrella handle (there's no strong wind, no rain). Fortunately it's not an expensive umbrella, but this just shows how vulnerable this light stand can be. The listing says the load capacity is up to 8kg, but I really doubt that. The extending sections have springs within them (unlike more expensive stands which have air cushion, of course I'm not expecting a cheap stand to have this feature, but just to point out the difference), you can feel that they're not that strong, so I don't think the springs can support such weight based on my umbrella experience. If I had known, I would have used sandbags on it when shooting in the garden, but just think about it, the reason why you're buying a portable lightstand for shooting on location is to be "portable and reliable". If you have to also carry sandbags just for a simple umbrella (I haven't attached a speedlight at the same time yet), what's the point of buying it? I might as well spend some extra to buy a sturdier stand for that purpose. In terms of "value for money", I bought it as "used - like new" for £18.49, which is ok for what it is, but I don't think it's worth the full price (currently £35.99). In fact even at £18.49, I'm considering returning it and buying a better one instead. In summary, if you're only going to use lightweight equipment with this stand (especially indoors), such as mobile phone or LED light, then this stand is perfectly adequate. But if you're going to use it for outdoor location shooting or heavier equipment, think again, it may damage your valuable equipment by toppling over, so you'd better buy a better stand for such purpose.

When I was a beginner photographer and filmmaker, I was looking for an affordable and sturdy stand to practice my studio lighting techniques. These light stands have been fantastic for that purpose! For anyone just starting out in photography or filmmaking, I highly recommend these stands — they’ve definitely helped improve my lighting skills. I also appreciate how lightweight and easy to transport they are, making them ideal for both studio and on-location shoots. The height and sturdiness is pretty good too for the value.

Ciao ragazzi, ho acquistato questo stativo per sorreggere il Godox SL-60 con Softbox ottagonale da 80cm e non potevo chiedere di meglio. Questo stativo è molto leggero e pratico, all'interno della confezione troviamo praticamente solo quello. Una volta sbloccati i blocchi, delle piccole molle ci aiuteranno a far salire le sezioni così da poterle regolare senza problemi. Sopra questo stativo è presente la classica vite da 1/4 che ci permette appunto di montare svariati oggetti senza problemi. Le viti bloccano bene e saldamente, fattore molto importante in stativi dal prezzo basso come questo! Per il resto fa il suo dovere e anche con Godox più Softbox resta saldo e stabile. Direi quindi ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Neewer su questa tipologia di attrezzatura non delude mai! Se questa recensione vi è stata utile, un voto positivo può essere solo che d'aiuto! I recently bought a Godox SL-60W and a Glow 38" deep parabolic softbox. I already own the standard Neewer 6' light stand, but was worried it might not hold up that large light rig. So I splurged the whole vast entire extra $7 bucks, and bought this "heavy duty" light stand. I put "heavy duty" in quotes for a reason, as you'll see in a minute. It's thicker than the standard light stand. Chunkier. Seems better suited to hold up my large light/modifier combo. That being said, as soon as I extended everything up to 6', it started to sag--the top uppermost extension pole literally bends a little under the strain of my light rig. So...I was forced to lower the upper pole down a bit, in order to prevent bendage. The lower part is thick and sturdy--so no worries there. So how much load am I generating with my light and softbox? Well, my Glow 38" deep parabolic softbox weighs in at 4lbs, and my Godox SL-60W weighs 3.5lbs. So that's 7.5lbs. The standard Neewer light stand is rated to hold loads up to 13.5lbs. The "heavy duty" stand is rated to hold up 17.5lbs. So why did I go with the "heavy duty" stand? Intuition I guess. My light modifier is "deep", meaning it sticks out a long ways--and physics being what it is...well I suck at math, but due to the fact it sticks out over the center of gravity of the light stand, I figured there would probably be something exponential about the amount of weight that would be generated. That and I just figured it would be better to be safe than sorry. Boy was I right! So, like I said, my great big light modifier sticks out beyond the center of gravity for this stand. Translation: It tips over. To compensate I do two things: 1. I make sure I swivel the modifier directly over one of the legs of the light stand--as opposed to between two of the legs. That gives it added stability. 2. I use sandbags. I bought some Esignmill sandbags (with yellow stripes), and filled them with paver sand from Home Depot. I estimate each of my sandbags weighs around 20lbs. I plopped one sandbag over the base of this light stand, and BOOM! No more tipping over. I'm glad I bought this "heavy duty" light stand--if I'd have cheaped out and went with the standard Neewer stand, there's no way it would have worked. (I mean, I already own a standard stand--so I KNOW it doesn't work). If the upper pole of the "heavy duty" stand bends under the strain, there's no way the cheap (erm, I mean "standard") light stand would be able to handle the load. Yeah--I know--everything's relative. Technically I "cheaped out" by going with Neewer in general. I'm sure there are other brands at much higher price points that can hold up my light rig without bending. But this one works (as long as I don't fully extend the upper pole)--and didn't break the bank. As long as you anchor this stand down (maybe with sandbags), and don't extend the top pole all the way, this stand can hold up a pretty top heavy and tippy light rig. I recommend... although when I get rich and famous, I'll probably upgrade to something even more "heavy duty".

La verdad es que esperaba peor calidad por el precio que tiene, y me he llevado una sorpresa. Es muy robusto, las palomillas de ajuste son fuertes y el tornillo 1/4 esta muy bien anclado en el tubo. La unica pega, por ponerle alguna, es que no venga ninguna abrazadera para el tornillo 1/4,si lo quieres usar para poner encima algo que no tenga una rosca equivalente, o sea algo no fotografico, tienes que comprar una para poder hacerlo. Muy recomendable.

Der Ständer ist super! Er ist total stabil und man kann ihn so hoch man ihn braucht verstellen (maximal cm beachten!) Ich bin ultrazufrieden 😊
