A Go-To Solution for Durability and Versatility
One of the standout features of this mat is its construction. Made from high-quality natural rubber, it is incredibly tough and able to withstand heavy-duty use without showing any signs of wear. Whether it's used in high-traffic areas, in the garage, or even outdoors, the Shark Tooth Mat retains its shape and integrity, making it a reliable investment for the long term. The "shark tooth" surface design is a game-changer. Its raised patterns not only add an extra layer of traction for slip resistance but also serve as excellent scraper blades for removing dirt and debris from shoes. This feature has been incredibly useful in keeping my home cleaner and preventing dirt from being tracked inside. Another aspect I appreciate is the mat's resistance to water and other liquids. Its heavy-duty rubber material is impervious to moisture, making it ideal for outdoor use or in areas prone to spills. It's also easy to clean; a simple hose down or quick wipe with a damp cloth does the job perfectly. Additionally, the mat's versatility has impressed me. I've used it as a protective layer for my garage floor to prevent damage from heavy equipment and tools. It has also proven useful as a runner in my workshop to reduce fatigue during prolonged standing. The mat's thickness provides ample cushioning, which I find particularly beneficial when working for extended periods. Finally, the mat's size options and ability to be cut to fit specific spaces is a great advantage. I was able to customize it to perfectly suit my needs, ensuring maximum coverage and functionality. Overall, I highly recommend the mat for anyone seeking a durable, versatile, and reliable solution for their flooring needs. It's a practical investment that will undoubtedly serve you well in various situations, providing both comfort and functionality. Whether you need a heavy-duty mat for high-traffic areas or a protective layer for your workspace, this mat will not disappoint.

Excellent and Sturdy Product
I've really been looking for a mat like this. Instead of needing it for exercise equipment, what I've been needing is a floor/under-desk mat for the wheeled office chair I use in my home office. Specifically, to protect the carpet from getting torn up or worn down by the wheels rolling over it day in and day out. I've used standard plastic office mats you can find at most any office supply store, but they tear up quickly, *especially* on thicker carpets since the thicker pile allows the mat too much "give" and thus the thin plastic sheet bends and flexes under the chair wheels until all too soon it breaks apart. This thick, HEAVY mat is just a solid lump on the floor, and I mean that in a good way. It doesn't bend and flex like a flimsy plastic mat, and it doesn't dimple or compress too much underneath the wheels even when I've been sitting for a while. I haven't had the mat very long but already I think it's fairly clear that this will stand up to the chair rollers WAY better and MUCH longer than a plastic mat ever could. And for a pretty similar price for the size of the mat, too! The mat's coloration and minor speckling also look quite decent against my dark carpet, so there is no eye sore here. As other reviews have mentioned, the mat when it first arrived had a fair bit of small rubber particulates from the manufacturing process, which made a nice mess on the floor during unpacking. Nothing a vacuum couldn't handle though. I also ran the vacuum over both sides of the mat itself, with the carpet brush feature turned on, and it basically rubbed away all the remaining little rubber particles and sucked them up. This resulted in a nice clean mat that doesn't leave any debris. The mat does have a minor rubber smell to it as well, but that went away after a day or two. All in all, I think this makes a wonderful office mat that will stand up to roller wheel punishment, and protect the life of your carpet.

Must-have for your weight room
I got a 2' x 3' piece and then when it arrived, I cut it in half so now I have 2 - 2'x1.5' pieces. When I deadlift, I put one half under each side of the barbell so that when I come back down and inevitably bang the weights into the ground, I don't have to worry as much about damaging the concrete. Note that I already have padding down on the floor, but it is a much softer pad and does great for human feet, but not so good for a loaded barbell. On that same subject, if I get lazy and leave my weights out on the softer mat for a couple of days, I get an indentation in it that may eventually mostly go away, but often hangs around for a long time if not forever. This harder one seems to do better, though I haven't left it there for more than a day so far. As an added benefit, the mats lift the bar by 3/4" which as it turns out is very close to where it would be if I had bumper plates instead of the raw cast-iron 45 lb plate as the largest diameter plate on the bar. Now it feels closer to if I were lifting "regulation" sized weights (if that matters to you). But wait, there's more! I'm not a particularly tall person, so when I bench press, it always feels very uncomfortable to try and get my feet to sit flat on the ground like you are supposed to. Now I can take these 2 mat halves and put one under each foot and that 3/4" actually makes the whole thing feel more comfortable and more stable. Note that it does have a bit of a smell and it leaves little rubber pills while it is new, but both of those problems seem to have gone away now that I've had it for a little while. This is one of the best $30 purchases I've made for my weight room. Recommended!

Great for RVs
As a full time RVer, I was concerned about parking my 8,000 lb travel trailer -- with brand new tires -- on a gravel surface (which many campsites are) for a month or more at a time. Research indicated that putting tires in direct contact with some materials could cause degradation and that rubber-to-rubber was the best way to go. This material is perfect. Thick and heavy. And being made from recycled tires is a great bonus. The only issue I had is with a couple of reviewers who said it was easy to cut. I managed to slice it down to four pieces (one 12" x 18" pad for each tire) by first scoring it with a utility knife, then attacking it with a reciprocating tool and saw blade attachment. If there was a better tool for the job, I didn't own it, so... It wasn't easy and it took some time, but that only points to the thickness and density of the mat. That said, don't think for a second that you're going to cut with a pair of scissors as some said they did. Another minor note: the mats do some shed tiny pieces of rubber. Although a noticeable amount, it will hopefully diminish over time. Since I'm using the product outdoors, no big deal. For indoor use, it might be a problem. Upon moving out, having parked my RV on the pads for a month, the tires had left only a slight dent in the material and even that was gone a few hours later when I reached my next destination. Great stuff, great tire protection! Couldn't be more pleased.

Shedding has not been a problem for me
Overall I am pleased with these mats. The mats are thick, pressed rubber. There are two sides, one rough, that is to face down and one smooth for facing up. These look just like the floor in the gym I go to with the smooth side up. I read a lot of reviews that mention shedding or little rubber granules coming off. It did give me pause so I bought one mat to try in my home gym on our second floor. Initially it did shed a lot as I was laying it down. The rough bottom is textured for gripping so as to not slide and does shed but you should not be lifting or rolling the mat back much. After a few days I realized shedding was not going to be a problem so I bought a second mat. Once in a while I will see a little black granule or two but nothing that vacuuming at least once a week won't solve. They have become much less frequent. Overall, the mats have helped dampen noise significantly and have provided a nice surface for my home gym. I use two mats butted up against a wall and each other over a hardwood floor. They don't slide around and I have not had to readjust them. I have a heavy functional trainer sitting across both mats so it may help in that regard. These will not completely silence noise and heavy impact but they do go a long way in reducing noise. They will not silence the impact from a treadmill. These mats weigh are very heavy.

Reduces vibrations from washer and dryer
I purchased a 4' x 6' roll of this about 2 weeks ago, cut it to shape to fit my laundry room, laid it down, replaced washer and dryer back into the laundry room, and then ran the washer on highest spin speed. The washer is a new LG front loader, which used to cause walls and cabinets to shake when it would enter the spin cycle. Now, with this mat beneath it, I barely even feel the washer vibrations at all, even at highest speed. I live in a home with crawl space (not slab) foundation, so vibrations from the laundry room used to be a very annoying issue. I purchased this product only expecting a moderate improvement, but was very pleased that the improvement is very significant, and I think it makes it a bit quieter as well. I'd easily recommend to others who want to reduce vibrations from laundry equipment. The mat is heavy duty and feels like it's of good quality. It's not cheap, but I think you get what you pay for with vibration and noise-mitigation products in general, and this is an investment that will make you appreciate it so much every time you do your laundry. I researched many potential solutions before deciding to go this route, and I'm very glad I did. I'm looking at moving in a few years, and will gladly purchase this again for the laundry room in my new home.

Decent archery backstop
I bought this to put behind some straw bales that I use as a target to prevent arrows from passing through them. I'm shooting a 53# bow with mid-weight arrows (larch). On a direct hit (aka just shooting the rub mat all by itself), they do penetrate all the way through, but don't penetrate past the tip due to the rubber squeezing itself back together. They are less difficult to pull out in this scenario than I would have guessed. When shot at through the straw, the arrow makes a satisfying "thunk" when it hits, but it does not stick at all (unless an arrow goes through the crack between two of the bales, then it sticks a bit, but not as badly as when shooting just the rubber by itself). Even when it is penetrated, the holes seem to "heal" themselves up after the arrow is removed. A direct hit on a former hole would probably let the arrow pass through more, but it wouldn't let it get all the way through or all the way up to the fletchings. Overall, I am glad that I went with this rubber mat for my arrow-stopping needs! Note: When not at full draw, and shooting directly at the mat all by itself, the arrows ricochet off almost all the way back to where I am standing. This is extremely amusing, and it wouldn't ever do this behind a straw bale, but if you shoot a lower weight bow, and you buy this mat, and you want to "test" if your arrows will pass through it on a direct hit... Don't, because you might catch your own arrows back in your face. They turn around, too!
