Works Well, High Quality
The Better Breathing Sport Exercise Breather Product and Fitness Trainer is a well made product that does what it is intended to do. It is fairly simple to use -- just blow in it until the steel ball vibrates up and down. The only difficulty is getting the right angle to make the ball vibrate, but after a little practice it becomes easy. Like any lung exerciser, it is difficult to tell exactly how much it helps because the changes are slow and incremental, but I can definitely feel my lungs having to work a little when I use it, so I am confident it makes a difference. The unit comes with a very complete and detailed set of instructions, which is a welcome change from the many products that have poorly written and sometimes useless instructions. The seller states that the unit should be cleaned every time it is used, which would be a pain because it has to be disassembled to clean it, but I don't really feel it is necessary and have only cleaned it once every few days. I like the lung trainer overall, but it is not cheap, even at the current price of about fifty bucks. However, this product is made in Australia, not China, and similar products from China are in the forty to fifty dollar range. Personally, I am willing to pay a little more for a product that is not made in China, but that is a matter of personal preference. I recommend this to anyone looking for a lung trainer of this sort, and I give it five stars for quality and function.

Be Aware of What's Required to Use This Device
In late 2022, I fractured six of the posterior ribs on my right side. It was painful to take deep breaths, and the doctor provided me with a spirometer and warned me if I didn't use it diligently, my ribs would heal and keep my chest cavity in a basically collapsed state. I tried to keep up with the regimen, but like "New-Year's" resolutions, my "diligence" fell by the wayside. This device is marketed as being able to restore lung capacity for athletes and people like me with reduced capacity due to injuries. What I did not know, until the device arrived and the instructions were read, is that the recommended frequency of usage (two to three times every day) must be followed by a very stringent cleaning and disinfecting process after every use. Disassembly is required, followed by soaking and agitating in a soap solution that is completely free of chlorine. Then, you hand wash all the parts with a soft rag or non-abrasive cleaning pad followed by rinsing and drying all parts in sterile water or water that has been boiled for 5 minutes. You must leave the parts to airdry. You cannot use hot air or a drying cupboard. They strongly recommend that after each cleaning, you also disinfect it. Disinfecting involves the cleaning procedure previously described followed by five additional steps. 1. After the parts are allowed to dry, place all the parts in a bowl large enough to hold all the parts, 2. Prepare the disinfecting solution, that has to be a very specific brand and percentage of Isopropyl alcohol, and mixed at a very precise ratio with sterile water, 3. Fully immerse all the parts and agitate to expel all air bubble, then allow to soak the specified amount of time recommended by the alcohol's manufacturer, 4. Remove the parts from the disinfecting solution and rinse in sterile water or water that has been boiled for 5 minutes, 5. Dry the parts naturally and then reassemble. So, the disinfecting is optional after every use, but regardless of whether you disinfect after every use, the manufacturer says you should do it after every two days, or before being stored for long periods, or as an absolute minimum, this disinfecting process must be done every week, whether you want to or not. Failure to comply places you at risk for lung infections from bacteria and germs. I still have not used this device, because I just don't have the time in my busy daily schedule to be doing just the cleaning process 2 to 3 times per day. I also have been meaning to contact the manufacturer in Australia to find out what alcohol brands available in the U.S. meet their criteria.
